Based on the novel of the same name, the show follows Atticus Freeman as he joins up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback

Available for streaming on HBO.

Anyone else heard of this? It's REALLY good two episodes in. It's very much like Get Out (produced by Jordan Peele so that figures), and really cleverly plays on both real life and fantastical horror, as well as being a tribute to Lovecraft as well as acknowledging his own racist views that he based a lot of his stories on. It's been very fast moving so far as well and I'm not sure what to expect next!

I've watched all three episodes and tbh I have no clue what is going on!!

I can't make connections between episodes and I guess I am going to need to watch them again.

I'm watching this on Sky Atlantic. It's certainly a bit different. I thought the big house in episode two would feature throughout but then it gets completely destroyed so we start again. I liked the haunted house in episode three and it was pleasing to see the nasty racists meet a gruesome end.

I've seen the first two episodes. I like the scale, but I have absolutely no idea what is going on. They spent so much time in episode 2 building up the mythology (peak JJ Abrahams) and then pretty much ended it all. Crazy stuff!

Is anyone still watching this? I've just watched episode 9 which was the best one yet. The last episode is next week.
