I had a bit of a tough time debating whether to put this here or the R&B forum (aah. Just seen the title similarity. Good one me) but I've put it here for now - mods feel free to move it as you wish!
Anyway...last year's X Factor runners up have signed to Syco and have just shot the video for their first single 'New Girl' in Ghana this last week - the single is premiered next Friday.
I'm not sure if I should be expecting something ironically good or just bad. Some of their X Factor performances were fun and entertaining but they couldn't sing to save their lives.
Cannot wait for this to drop & outpeak Louisa Johnson's winning single
^ just like how Marcus Collins outdid Little Mix?
I'm not confident that this will outpeak Forever Young but regardless it's hard to compare because R&B's winning single would've done even worse. Excited to hear it anyway!
Oooh so hyped for this ! I LIVED for their performances on X Factor so I'll definitely check this up !
It's probably gonna be out on May 13, plus it is described as good feel vibe summer smash Confirmed on Instagram by Reggie's girlfriend https://www.instagram.com/p/BE8GFjoEbFc/
This better be good and smash like Fuse ODG did a few years ago.
This needs to flop horrendously please.

It's giving me all the Nigel & Marvin 'Follow Da Leader 2002' teas in a good way Single is out next Friday.
I actually like this, exactly the song they need to release!
YES that sounds exactly what I'd have wanted!!!
WHEN WILL LOUISA GIVE ME SUCH A CARIBBEAN JAM
Love the sound of the song but Reggie's (I think) vocals are just so poor that it ruins what could be a great song, if Fuse ODG was singing this it would be the full package.
It sounds very Fuse ODG, they really should've capitalised on Fuse's endorsement of R&B and put him on the song as a feature.
Myself and the other pop mods have decided to move this to R&B for the time being due to it being of a similar nature to Fuse ODG and his threads are in R&B. Plus I am getting a giggle at the R&B forum standing for the Reggie&Bollie forum
If it is more 'pop' on full listen, feel free to move it back
It's got a great, GREAT vibe, but those lyrics are far, too basic and agreed with Ryan's sentiment in regards to Reggie's vocals. Such a shame, because I think I'd be all over this, otherwise (lyrics aren't really a huge problem for me and I'll be able to overlook them once I've heard the full song a couple of times).
I can't say I paid attention to the lyrics and I don't get what's wrong with the vocals anymore so than someone like Shaggy or Omi?
This is gonna be the new Littlewoods advert track aswell, where they appear in it themselves, which should get this some extra exposure!
Tbh Shaggy's songs are reliant on the hooks and production more than his vocals. And I've always hated OMI's voice as he sounds like he's gargling water and I find 'Cheerleader' to be very annoying. But I am open to this being half decent in full.
Set up for a BGT semi-final performance as well I imagine...
all going well for this so far, it sounds like a tune too.
Already #33 on iTunes! They performed this on Lorraine as well this morning...can definitely see this doing for them what 'Sax' did for Fleur East, especially being on the advert as well (which I've seen a few times already).
This is kind of catchy in a very annoying way. I feel a massive all-guns blazing first single campaign one hit wonder. Similar to Fleur.
Maybe they'll get the BGT final slot instead of Little Mix then!
It's very Fuse ODG isn't it? I think it's great, exactly the fun, energetic kind of song they should have released (which funnily enough was true for Fleur too so the comparison is definitely valid - hopefully they get a couple more hits than she's managed though).
Agree, it's really good, just the sort of thing I hoped they would make! The production is infectious, very summer.
I really like it.
This might as well be a Fuse ODG song but it sounds perfect for this time of year and is a good choice, I was scared it would be some awful novelty/'fun' song as that's what their performances were known for, but this actually plays to their musical strengths and looks it could get some success!
This is exactly what I wanted from them, as Chez said, I'm glad they haven't taken it too novelty and have kept it in the Fuse ODG ballpark. HIT PLEASE.
this isn't a PATCH on 'follow da leader 2002', if only!
I've had the chorus in my head all day. If not number 1, top 3 should be in its sights!
This is fantastic! Everything I was wanting from their debut single AND more
Not normally my sort of thing at all... but I reaaalllly like this!
Ok. So this turns out to be a proper bop! *.*
This is such a bop I know I shouldn't love it as much as I do but I really do .
I was expecting this to do a bit better than it's done so far, especially considering how well it did initially on iTunes. Any chance of it recovering?
Doubt it now, it was game over as soon as they didn't get a BGT spot.
I feel like it should've been released a month later.
or not at all
I feel like there should be a parody version called 'new dick'
Down to #20 on iTunes. I actually thought it was going to do well after such a promising start. Maybe not
So where is the link ?
