Just incredible!

I was hoping Blonde would get this instead. drama.gif Truly sick to the back teeth of this song now.

QUOTE(Umi @ Jan 10 2015, 04:40 PM) *
Foreign language songs only become big hits as novelty. It is not something with any consistency. 'Alors on danse' doing well is irrelevant to Stromae pushing 'Papaoutai' because nobody took any serious interest in Stromae thanks to the song, they just thought "lol this song is funny i can dance to it and feel cultured".

He did push the song, and he gave interviews about trying to break English markets. "French is not a sub-language" was a quote he used, speaking about Anglophone countries refusing to let in foreign languages including French. Unfortunately, Anglophones disagree with him.

If he's said that he tried pushing it, then I apologise as I've never heard it on the radio or TV here. People are missing out on lots of great songs (me included) by radio's refusal to play foreign language tracks, in that case!

I wonder if we'll see "All I Want" by Kodaline reenter after that performance on The Voice? It was a rather nice performance, and the song wasn't as well known as other songs they perform on the show.

I'm surprised the singer from TempleCloud was on it(the song from the KFC ad from 2011, peaked at 24 in the chart). Even more surprised to hear she co-wrote Powerless by Rudimental ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

That IS surprising! Probably my favourite Rudimental song smile.gif helps when you have Becky Hill on vocals!

Indeed she was really good too all of the judges turned round. Forgot about the TC song in amongst all the other similar releases in 2011(the year if Adele)!

It's almost like it's coming full circle with The Voice association!

Really surprised how high Blonde is, so close to the top 10, didn't think the track would get such a rebound.

And its nice seeing All I Want back in the chart, its probably what made me take notice of the band, and used the track in BJSC.

'All I Want' is a nice enough song but I'd have much preferred if 'High Hopes' or 'Love Like This' (particularly the former) got a performance and this sort of boost. Then again both of those are top 40 hits already tongue.gif

is there a particular reason why Blonde are so high again? It's not suddenly getting lots of capital airplay (only 20 plays in the last month), so there must be some other factor unsure.gif

Gravity climbing very rapidly now dance.gif & still a month til' release! Surely a number 1 contender??? Easily one of his very best for me now after several listens (helped by Ella of course).

Quite a few on pre-order that premiered way back into last year. Will be great to see them break through in the near future.

I love the DJ Fresh song but I don't think it'll be number 1 sad.gif

Even if it did, I bet it would be written off on Buzzjack as "unmemorable" or a "non-number 1" laugh.gif

Can't imagine Gravity making it to #1 whatever the competition is, bit weaker than the likes of Louder/Hot Right Now. I get #6-10 vibes from it.
