JESS GLYNNE!!!

Posted by: Theo. 23rd August 2018, 04:18 PM

As if he replaced Demi with Bebe :') Looking forward to Stefflon though, shame she has to share a track with whatshername. Would've been nice to have "Mad Love" as a bonus track or something though.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 23rd August 2018, 04:33 PM

I'm surprised Your Love with Showtek also isn't here, especially as the single has similar artwork to the others.

Posted by: Bjork 23rd August 2018, 04:44 PM

Grrrr demi replaced the awful bebe rexha :/

Surprised Blue isnt there
Wasnt that rumoured as a single?

Posted by: danG 23rd August 2018, 04:57 PM

oh wow, I wasn't sure if we'd ever get another David Guetta album so this is good news.

a Jess Glynne collab too yes I am slain. *.*

boo at Your Love not making the cut because it flopped and I also really wanted to hear a studio version of Blue.

Posted by: gavindeejay 23rd August 2018, 05:45 PM

Wow! There are some good collabs here. I hope it’s not full of future bass though!

Posted by: Dexton 24th August 2018, 01:04 AM

Drive is out today too

It's not future bass but it is very boring

The collab with Black Coffee ft. Delilah Montagu - Drive has been released.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 24th August 2018, 08:44 AM

How much of it is going to be actually dance?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 24th August 2018, 08:49 AM

Well, iTunes have posted a second disc which is under his pseudonym Jack Back, which I'm guessing will be all dance. One track has already been released.

Well this was originally released over 17 years ago laugh.gif

I enjoyed "Drive" on first listen, it was a lot more enjoyable than "Goodbye" but I can't see it being a hit due to Black Coffee and Delilah being unknowns.

Posted by: PAJ88 24th August 2018, 09:16 AM

I was also looking forward to Blue with Bebe.

Hopefully it still gets released.

It's tagged as a '2018 remix' so it won't be that version.

Glad we're getting an actual proper dance album from him too!!

The new songs are sounding decent, hopefully we get a few better songs on the actual album though.

Posted by: slowdown73 25th August 2018, 05:45 PM

Preordered this release but for some reason the iTunes version contains an additional track which is omitted from the CD. It’s track 4 Blame it on love.

Posted by: Hadji 25th August 2018, 05:48 PM

Shame “Dirty Sexy Money” is missing from there

Posted by: Addy K!ng 28th August 2018, 12:19 AM

Can't wait to hear it!!!

Good riddance tbh

Posted by: SLlewellyn 28th August 2018, 10:36 PM

A real mish mash of sounds then by the looks of it - intrigued to hear the Jess Glynne and Stefflon Don collaboration though!

Posted by: Hadji 29th August 2018, 04:40 PM

If you buy the physical version from amazon, you get the bonus tracks ie “Mad Love” and “Dirty Sexy Money”

Posted by: hlavkus 29th August 2018, 07:08 PM

"Pelican" has also been out for some time.

Posted by: lewistgreen 1st September 2018, 09:42 PM

I am absolutely in love with Drive now.

Also found on two tracks on the album is Avicii. He’s featured as writer and producer on “She Knows How To Love Me” with Jess Glynne and Stefflon Don as well as “Let It Be Me” with Ava Max.

OMG! Those will be the first Avicii related releases of 2018.

Just heard that 'Overtone' track and its great, that sort of dark atmospheric dance is definitely in trend at the moment.

Ignore this, apparently it was just rumours and Guetta's label has confirmed that Avicii had no involvement in either track.

It sounds to me like it was originally meant for Demi Lovato for some reason.

LMAO, I listened to it thinking "ooh, that sounds good" - I wasn't expecting it to be... literally Hey Mama, just made slightly weaker and messier. It's so copy and paste laugh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 14th September 2018, 02:02 AM

The production on this album is so lazy, SKHTLM is definitely Hey Mama 2.0, Let It Be Me is just Poundland version of It Ain't Me with a Tom's Diner sample to differentiate it a bit and Say My Name is quite Cheap Thrills. It just seems like he can't be bothered and stuck some new lyrics and vocals on a Sunfly karaoke version of songs that worked already laugh.gif

Posted by: Jüpiter 14th September 2018, 03:53 AM

The album's pop side is so underwhelming. They left off Blue for those?! Sia track good though, the second one.

idk why you’re surprised. he’s notorious for self recycling instrumentals
• the I Gotta Feeling instrumental for Club Can’t Handle Me + two album tracks on the succeeding album
• the Sexy Bitch instrumental for Where Them Girls At
• the Turn Me On instrumental for his Jennifer Hudson collab

Posted by: Dexton 14th September 2018, 04:12 AM

The album as a whole is trashy but who really expected much more from David Guetta in 2018? kink.gif

Posted by: lewistgreen 14th September 2018, 05:19 AM

I'm sorry but She Knows How To Love Me is an absolute banger despite its unoriginality

Posted by: lewistgreen 14th September 2018, 04:39 PM

Ngl this album is full of absolute trashy bops, I really like it! I’m That Bitch is the standout for me on Disc 1 and well if that is a taste of his Jack Back stuff then I am right here for that side project to continue. Really (and shockingly) impressed with this album laugh.gif

Posted by: BridgeCow 14th September 2018, 08:00 PM

Really into this Jack Back stuff tho wub.gif

I think the problem with David Guetta is there are so many more younger, more innovative DJs out there these days. Back in the early part of the decade he was an absolute hit machine, but he seemingly got lazy and just uses the same beats over and over again. Big stars want to work with him no matter what and likewise if his team pay enoigh money I'm sure vocalists will be willing to lend their support.

I need to listen to the dance side more, but certainly his pop tunes are often good fun but lack any sort of innovation or real star quality. I think 7-8 years ago you could get away with it as a lot of his big hits while good, are cheesy commercial pop like the pop side of this album but it all sounds so lazy. Like it's already been said, that Jess Glynne track is literally Hey Mama part 2 and it's not even like he tries to hide it.

Holy f***

Posted by: slowdown73 15th September 2018, 06:02 PM

His new album isn’t as good as the last couple. Certainly more filler tracks and some tracks which are boring and quite dull.

Posted by: Conderella 15th September 2018, 08:48 PM

the jack back side seems so much more exciting than the rest. the main tracks are just lazy and throwaway and even sia cannot save the album from being an utter disaster

Posted by: Conderella 15th September 2018, 08:59 PM

don't know why i keep bothering with him now. he quite clearly peaked with 'the world is mine' and his last good non-sia song was 'toyfriend'.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th September 2018, 09:03 PM

I can definitely see myself coming back to lots of the new tracks, Let It Be Me and Battle are my favourites.

Posted by: Hadji 16th September 2018, 03:18 PM

The physical version of the album has the four bonus tracks

Posted by: danG 19th September 2018, 11:01 AM

Only listened to the commercial side so far... it's just as basic as I've come to expect from him. Really not much to take away from this, quite a few poor tracks and the highlights are well below the standard he previously had.

The real standout at the moment is Drive and I imagine David had very little to do with that track anyway.

From the new tracks; She Knows How To Love Me is a bit of a fun bop (but it couldn't sound any more like Hey Mama if it tried), Let It Be Me is also rather good, Say My Name is alright but sounds like it'll tire on me quickly when it becomes a hit, and Light Headed is rather underwhelming for a Sia collab.

Hopefully there's more to the club side but my hopes aren't that high judging by the pre-release material.

Posted by: gavindeejay 27th October 2018, 10:20 AM

According to David’s Facebook ‘Say My Name’ featuring Bebe Rexha and J Balvin is the next single from this album.

Posted by: lewistscream 27th October 2018, 11:19 AM

Yep, Lyric video is up! Has done fairly decent on the dance chart already.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 27th October 2018, 11:22 AM

It's one of my least favourites from the album tbh, not a fan of the xylophone drop.

Posted by: David William 1st November 2018, 09:52 AM

Others come from Solardo, Red Axes and Tom Staar.

THIS is excellent. Head and shoulders above anything David Guetta's been involved with in recent years. I suspect this is Black Coffee's influence though. Shame this will be overshadowed by the other single sleep.gif
