Was it for 'Threads' where Sarah was sharing people's tweets about it being top 40 and that was actually in the physical chart or something? laugh.gif poor hen, I agree with Adam anyway that it is the solo release that is most in keeping with GA's sound. But it was a bit too messy to actually be up there with GA material~

19 4.33 One Day I'll Fly Away (Kimberley Walsh)

I guess it's no shock that the lead single from Kimberley's musical theatre album isn't a big favourite on here, but I'd say it's actually outperformed expectations and hasn't finished in the bottom 3! laugh.gif One Day I'll Fly Away, a cover of Randy Crawford's song, was the only single released from Centre Stage, and it didn't chart, despite a performance at the National Television Awards in 2013. I actually find it quite pleasant really, not worthy of a high finish here but I don't think it's as bad as it could've been kink.gif

Her version of One Day I'll Fly Away is lovely! I don't really have any time for Centre Stage, but she chose the best track to lead with imo.

18 5.28 Like U Like (Aggro Santos feat. Kimberley Walsh)

Oh dear, all four of Kimberley's singles have ended in the bottom 5! 'Like U Like' (which according to its Wiki page is a blend of Electrohop, R&B and grime - all genres you'd associate with our Kimberley, of course) is a collaboration with the Brazilian, London-based rapper Aggro Santos (remember him?). It was released in January 2011 and arguably defied expectations by peaking at #8. It makes Kimberley the only member of Girls Aloud apart from Cheryl to have achieved a Top 10 hit away from the group although Nadine will be joining them both next week when Go to Work gets to #1 x.

P.S. Candy >>>>>>>>>>> Like U Like

17 5.39 I Could Be (Shane Filan & Nadine Coyle)

This duet is actually rather decent! It unfortunately failed to chart in both the UK and Ireland, despite promo on some quite big shows including 'Children In Need' and 'Strictly: It Takes Two'. Could've done quite well at Eurovision for Ireland (better than Nicky Byrne at least which admittedly, wouldn't have been hard).

A nice song, a shame they didn't make a video for it!

I Could Be is a really lovely song! Never stood a chance of being a hit but it was nice to hear Nadine's voice on something new (basil.gif) after so long.

16 5.45 Crazy Stupid Love (Cheryl feat. Tinie Tempah)

This one BOTHERS ME because it's such a good song but y'all have voted it as Cheryl's worst single mellow.gif Crazy Stupid Love was released as the lead single from Cheryl's fourth studio album Only Human in 2014, and debuted at #1 (despite it being a "foregone conclusion" that MAGIC!'s Rude would make it over her biggrin.gif!), following a BGT performance several weeks earlier. It tied Cheryl for the record of most #1s by a British female, becoming her fourth chart topper. In this rate, it received a huge mix of scores, with 9s and 10s but also 0s and two -1s.

Pleased to see 'Crazy Stupid Love' so low as it is pretty hideous, particularly the horn segment which is unpleasant and weird to the ears.

(I kinda liked 'Like U Like' at the time but it's aged terribly)

15 5.86 Sweetest High (Nadine)

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so...

kink.gif

"Nadine 2.0" (iconic x) unleashed this uptempo house track in June 2011 (a little over six months after the Insatiable album and single) to very little fanfare. In fact it apparently didn't even manage to make the Top 1000 on UK iTunes. ohmy.gif Even though this rather random release didn't provide Nadine with commercial success, it at least gave her the opportunity to share the above look with us all, from a club appearance in New York! Thankfully Nadine's parody account @NuhdeenCoyleNow has never allowed us to forget about it. wub.gif

I never would have predicted Sweetest High would finish higher than any of Cheryl's #1s, so this is quite an interesting result for me! I quite like the song... it's obviously cheaply produced, but her vocals shine on it. I just tend to forget about its existence for some reason! drama.gif

Incredible. heart.gif

P.S. Here's an interesting old interview from when Sweetest High was released.

'Sweetest High' is a bit of a bop! And the above look is truly iconic.

Then, in 2011, during a nine-month stint in New York, she recorded a single, Sweetest High, even rebranding as Nadine 2.0. “Did that song really come out?” she asks. “It did, didn’t it? I may have been drunk a lot around that time.”

Cheryl has worse singles than CSL (though I do understand why it's maligned). Oh well, no bother.

The horn section in Crazy Stupid Love sounds like one of those Youtube edits where they edit a much-mangled noise and add it to a well-known song and so it's amusing to see the popstar dance to it.

Only this time, it was the actual song...

(sorry I will NEVER shut up about how horrid that section of 'music' is, genuinely one of the worst parts of a song I've ever heard and still can't to this day understand how it got released)
