You have been voting for your favourite 90s Number One single over the past few weeks, but here is what you've waited for, what is your favourite number one single. In the event of a tie, it will go down to individual points scored in the round that it was in. This morning we'll start with 50 - 41

50 - The Clash "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" (1991) (+2)

So, the song with the least points is this rock song by The Clash, and their only number one.

49 - D:Ream "Things Can Only Get Better" (1994) (+5)

Almost losing is this, a song which isn't remembered well and one that I don't know how it got here in the final. Their follow up "U R The Best Thing" went to number 4, but both these songs were re-releases.

48 - Snap! "The Power" (1990) (+6)

This is the first song of Snap!'s in the countdown. Their other number one is in the higher end of the countdown which is yet to come. This was also the first number one Snap! got, and was their first single.

47 - Beats International "Dub Be Good To Me" (1990) (+10)

The only number one, let alone top five hit for Beats International lands here with people forgetting about it in the final. Maybe Pro Green has something to do with why this has done so badly

46 - Adamski feat. Seal "Killer" (1990) (+12)

1990 hasn't been a great year for Buzzjack. Three out of five entries from 90' have already gone, this being the third. Adamski has also not done great since this single, the follow up peaking at 7

45 - Run DMC vs Jason Nevins "It's Like That" (1998) (+13)

The lowest scoring song from the later half of the decade goes to this which spent 6 weeks at number one and sold one million.

44 - 2 Unlimited "No Limit" (1993) (+14)

We come to our first tie, between two songs but this has lost out. It seemed to do very badly until someone gave it a +12 to save it. The song was on minus points at one point of the round

43 - Michael Jackson "Black Or White" (1991) (+14)

This classic from the King of Pop really should have peaked higher, am disappointed with this. It has a great video too. Maybe he'll do better in the 80s round where he has "Billie Jean" - that's if we're doing an 80s next.

42 - East 17 "Stay Another Day" (1994) (+16)

This song is famous for beating Mariah Carey to the Christmas number one, we all know which one has passed the test of time. How this got more points than MJ I don't know!!! - alright I'll shut up about him now

41 - Tasmin Archer "Sleeping Satelllite" (1992) (+18)

This is the last song I'll be revealing this morning. Feel free to predict what'll come up soon and who will be that all important number one. The song is boring and gets nowhere for me - 1992 was not a good year for number ones bar Snap!, and Tasmin's follow up peaked at 16 so this song is more or less a one hit wonder

Er... both of them? SAD went as high as #97 in the Xmas chart of 2009.

I would have thought this was remembered very well indeed. It's use by "New Labour" in their winning election campaign gave it a new meaning (no opinion here whether that was good or bad!)

HI can you add some information about the voters as well? How many -2's they received, who they got maximum points from ET CETERA?
Oh and let's do 90's #2's next, #2's hardly get any attention and there's an array of gems among them. Considering the average age of the kids on this site, 80s may not attract THAT many voters?

OK results so far, none of my true favourites, I don't think I've ever heard Sleeping Satellite or Things Can Only Get Better before

and I'd say East 17 has stood the test of time well as well, both are Christmas classics, Mariah more so

Surprised how low Beats International is! Either I was the only voter or it got a LOT of minuses.
