Although I always find Big Bang week pretty pointless, it normally means the contestants have to showcase their vocals more so the real standout performers are always more evident.

They could be quite clever and make this theme a bit more current... There are a lot of current songs with prominent horn/brass led parts (for example Crazy Stupid Love and Problem) that they could "big band"ify a bit like Emeli Sandé did with Crazy In Love in The Great Gatsby. That would make it a bit more current than the usual Feeling Good, Bewitched, Ain't That A Kick In The Head and Cry Me A River, but of course they won't do that.
Lady Gaga's version of Bang Bang for Lauren *.* Or Patsy Cline's Walking After Midnight, not proper big band I know but it would fit the set-up. |

Fleur to do Problem including the Iggy rap *.*
I always liked Big Band week, but it seems a bit uninspired as usual This post has been edited by Timmy SZN: 9th November 2014, 04:50 PM |

Fleur needs to sing Candyman or Ain't No Other Man.
Alexandra did the former in big band week and both have a cabaret/jazzy/swing feel! She maybe shouldn't do the same song as Alexandra but Ain't No Other Man could fit into Big Band and it'd be amazing, plus slightly more modern than the usual clichés. |

LOL Nicole "Tens of albums sold!"
Crazy In Love or Aint No Other Man would be good for Fleur. Toxic Glee style would have been perfect for Only The Young but Chloe already performed it . Not sure what they can do actually, hope it isnt something too cliche. |

I bet Lauren will get Feeling Good. Cheryl really hasn't been too imaginative with her choices for her, except Dark Horse...

And omg yes Emeli Sandé's version of Crazy In Love would be amazing for Fleur This doesn't seem like a theme that would fit her but there are so many good choices for her. She could do Proud Mary or River Deep Mountain High too! |

I hate big band week, just that kind of music does nothing for me and seeing OTY, Stevi and SK butcher that kind of music is even worse.

What have Proud Mary or River Deep Mountain High got to to with Big Band Week Proud Mary is a country rock song and River Deep Mountain High a Phil Spector song. - Both these are 60s Big Band is 40s - Sinatra - Glenn Miller - Sammy Davis Jr. Ella Fitzgerald - Bing Crosby - Mills Brothers - Ink Spots - Andrews Sisters etc. This post has been edited by euro music: 14th November 2014, 05:17 PM |
