8th. Forbidden Love = 6 Votes
Welcome to Round 7 of Madonna's 'Something To Remember' survivor polls and the latest track to drop is the last of the non-singles to feature here 'Forbidden Love', which received by far the most amount of votes with 6, and its lasted pretty well considering the amount of big and well known hits that feature here and just goes to show that even her album tracks are of good quality. Originally featured on the 'Bedtime Stories' album from the previous year and was one of 2 from that collection to make it on here and the song finds Madonna comparing rejection to an aphrodisiac and dismissing any relationship untouched by taboo. Composed in a minor key with whispering voices in the background (one of them being of Babyface's), the song features a string section in the middle eight. The instrumentation is kept at minimum to emphasize the vocals. Madonna has 2 songs of this title, the other would feature 11 years later on her 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' album and both versions while completely different speak of onging, yearning and desire that Madonna does so well, though I would concur that the first version of Forbidden Love is the better and sadder of the two. A nice little standout and great addition to the album, but wouldn't call it a lost single choice by any means. Right then guys you know the rules by now, 7 left in the running and just vote for your least fave by the next round. Results: 08. Forbidden Love = 6/60.00% 10. Something To Remember = 7/31.82% 10. This Used To Be My Playground = 7/31.82% 11. I Want You [Ft Massive Attack] = 12 points 12. Love Don't Live Here Anymore = 3/33.33% 13. One More Chance = 6/60.00% 15. I Want You [Orchestral] = 3/30.00% 15. La Isla Bonita = 3/30.00% This post has been edited by SamJudd: Jan 15 2019, 10:34 PM |

That was tough! The remaining songs are all great but I went with 'I'll Remember'.
Off topic, but the album cover for 'Something to Remember' is one of my favourites from Madonna. It's so calming to look at. That period particularly from 94-95, contains some of her best visuals. |

I'll Remember on its way out at last. Getting tougher going forward, think I'll be targeting Rain next!
Think I'm aiming for a Crazy for You vs. Live to Tell finale. |

I like it but on a list of such classic Madonna ballads, it is a bit forgetable.
