Second single from Gwen Stefani's upcoming third album called This Is What the Truth Feels Like due out March 18 called "Make Me Like You", which is going to be released on February 12.
Retro disco bop *.*
Audio:
Am I the only one getting Blondie feels upon first listen?
It's all right, sounds like a grower. The cover art is too Marilyn for my tastes.
WHY ISNT IT ON UK SPOTIFY FGS GWEN
I like it!
That cover art looks nothing like her, it reminds me of some of the Rebel Heart photoshoots though.
YES
That is what you call a great pop song. Simple but very effective.
Reminds me of something Maroon 5 would release but also manages to stay very Gwen's and also reminds me of old No Doubt. Best song of the comeback so far
This is definitely the best we've heard from her comeback so far! I like it. Could be a grower too.
YES!
Those two pictures could feasibly be the same person.
It's certainly not as good as "Used to love you".
I prefer it to Used To Love You but it's still not the sort of thing I want from Gwen
It's nice but a bit flimsy and throwaway. Solid enough though and indeed, it could be a grower!
i was about to comment on how much she looks like madonna in this photo, matter of fact that cover art could honestly be a madonna cd from the 90's.
anyway this song reminds me of future years kylie but also something that paloma faith could do.
This is a very decent pop song, I can see it being a grower as well. It's probably the best of her comeback so far - the others haven't been great so it's not that hard to achieve really.
I really like this song! Easily the best song of her comeback to date.
I love it. Definitely on board with a Gwen comeback.
On the love train with this, so poppy and feel good. Love
Finall out in the UK
This is such a bop! As much as I lobe the last couple of things she's done this is much Better.
Also I personally think she looks normal on the cover
Definitely agree that this is the best of Gwen's comeback songs so far, and in fact I think that this song is the best she's done since "The Sweet Escape", and if this doesn't do well, then the music scene is dead.
Also smart move in removing "Baby Don't Lie" and "Spark The Fire" from the next album, as they weren't very good at all, and glad she came back with "Used To Love You" which is a very underrated song, and great. But "Make Me Love You" is miles better and just fantastic, already one of my fave songs of this year so far.
'Used to Love You' > 'Baby Don't Lie' > 'Make Me Like You' > 'Spark the Fire'. I fully reserve the right to place MMLY in 1st in a week's time~
^ I'd rank them in that order too. I like 'Make Me Like You' but it didn't wow me on first listen. Sure I'll be loving it soon enough but it has no chance of topping 'Used to Love You' - absolutely adore that! 'Spark the Fire' is utterly dreadful in every way, glad it won't be on the album.
This is so underwhelming. Probably about as generic and unoriginal as you can get. So it will probably be a hit
Baby Don't Lie is easily the best of the four, then Used To Love You, then this, then Spark The Fire.
I really hope Fergie can come up with something better than this.
Baby Don't Lie >> Make Me Like You >>> Spark The Fire >>> Used To Love You
Newbie is actually growing on me with continued listens and I am still totally drawn in by the album art *.*

This is fab. Think "Baby Don't Lie" is the only other thing I've listened to from the comeback and this is loads better.
Great video for something recorded live, and in one take!

It's very musical Theatre!
This just reminds me of a glossier Lick My Lips by Katharine McPhee.
The video, which was recorded live during a commercial break for the grammys:
Love it, gives me early 00s vibes.
Edit: Oops just noticed someone posted it above!
Great video! She just never ages, does she? She looks so good.
for doing it all in one take live that really is a tremendous music video.
shame about the falling mishap, but what can you do.
Song is a solid 5/10.
Video is really quite good because of how it was recorded.
Really good, hopefully a positive sign for the album!
This becomes more infectious with every play. "Oh god! Thank god!" etc is a proper moment. And it's really got me back in a No Doubt mood.
Oh my GodZ I'm hooked. This Is just so catchy and the retro feel of it is amazing. Welcome back hen!!
I honestly think 'Used To Love You' is a better song, but they're completely different so I'm not sure there's much use in comparing. This is still wonderful!
I actually really liked 'Baby Don't Lie' a lot (as derivative as it was), it's a shame it's been completely discredited from this era (and as a result will probably never appear on UK Spotify )
The less said about 'Spark The Fire' the better, there is nothing good or redeemable about that.
how does she manage to start every new campaign with a bonfire BOP? innn
