BuzzJack Music Forum _ R&B and Hip-Hop _ Stormzy - Sounds Of The Skeng

Released at midnight. Sounds like a proper grime single this one. Sir Spyro produced like the remix that's currently #1 in the charts.

Stormzy coming to bring actual grime to the charts *.*

No interest in this song at all? I can kinda see why it isn't as big a hit as the previous two but this is an absolute banger, easily my fave of this era so far.

I think it's great! Pity it's guaranteed not to do as well In the charts just because it's not as pop albeit VB was hardly pop more rnb sounding. It's chart run will prob be 18-21-22-23-29-35-40! Holding up due to growing airplay for a bit!

His album is gonna be the biggest first week of the year imo if it's released in November!

Is this Pt 3 of WickedSkengMan4? Sounding great from Stormzy.

He's dropped another track now, another less-commercial one.

Liking the sound of it and SOTS, looks promising for the album.

Good tune. Good to see proper grime back when I thought it wasn't so popular since about 2016.

Well now I know what Skeng means. He's very Lethal Bizzle in bringing his own vocabulary to the charts.

He didn't invent the word tongue.gif comes from Jamaican patois according to the reliable source of Urban Dictionary in 2005.

Loving 'Wiley Flow' as well! Surprised we still don't have the album or even a date for it yet.

Genuinely don't understand why this has only got to #20, especially since his profile has grown since Glastonbury and now loads more older people know who he is. How is it going DOWN the chart? It's a bit Big For Your Boots II but still a blinder.

'Wiley Flow' is sounding good from him although not commercial sounding. It's good to see more proper grime from Stormzy.

Really can't understand why this only got to #20, it makes no sense! There are 'urban' songs not fit to lick its boots that have fared much better since 2017. Mainly mumbly and downtempo ones with scant hooks that I don't understand the appeal of. This sounded like a top three to me at least. Really hope we've not passed peak Stormzy. Oh well, it's #1 for the third week running in my personal chart. Would have been #1 were it not for those pesky Foals. I know its essentially Big For Your Boots with a sax but Big For Your Boots with a sax is a very good thing!
