Nitin Kumar will return to the PDC World Darts Championship next month after winning through the Indian Qualifier on Sunday.

Kumar has won this tournament for a third time and was the outstanding name in the field going into proceedings.

He defeated Vikehelie Suohu 6-0 in the final averaging 82 in the end against his compatriot.

Previously in 2019 and 2020 when he played at Ally Pally, he has lost to Jeffrey de Zwaan and Brendan Dolan in the first round and has also represented India in the World Cup of Darts.

Fallon Sherrock broke the record for the highest televised average by a female player in her 5-0 whitewash of Mike de Decker at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

Sherrock, 27, averaged 101.55, scoring four 180s and 56% on the doubles.

The previous record was 100.3, set by Lisa Ashton at the UK Open in March.

Fallon Sherrock made history once again as she became the first female to reach the Grand Slam of Darts quarter-finals with a win over Mensur Suljovic in Wolverhampton.

Sherrock, 27, came back from 2-0 down to cruise to a 10-5 victory and reach the last eight on debut.

Gerwyn Price is the first player through to the final of the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts after surging past James Wade in a 16-9 win.

Price has now made three finals in four years in this tournament after producing a 102.5 average, nine 180's and 64% on the doubles to see off 'The Machine'.

Jamie Hughes has been forced to withdraw from 2021 Players Championship Finals which begins on Friday from Butlins Minehead after a positive Covid-19 test.

Hughes is now self-isolating at home and will be replaced by Jelle Klaasen who is the next highest player on the Players Championship Order of Merit not already in the tournament.
