I remember going down to my local HMV at 9am on release day to buy the CD I think it's the last CD I ever bought in a shop.
Genuinely one of my favourite albums of all time. It holds so many memories for me. The entire era was beyond a delight and it was such an exciting time being a fan of hers. Here's my rate - 01. Marry the Night (10/10) 02. The Edge of Glory (10/10) 03. Born This Way (10/10) 04. Scheiße (10/10) 05. Judas (9.5/10) 06. You and I (9/10) 07. Heavy Metal Lover (9/10) 08. Government Hooker (9/10) 09. Bloody Mary (8.5/10) 10. Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) (8.5/10) 11. Electric Chapel (8/10) 12. Hair (8/10) 13. Fashion Of His Love (7.5/10) 14. Black Jesus † Amen Fashion (7.5/10) 15. Americano (7.5/10) 16. The Queen (7/10) 17. Bad Kids (7/10) The fact the weakest song is still a 7 says it all. What an album. #NeverForget This post has been edited by Jαsє: 24th May 2019, 01:15 PM |

Will she ever top this album? What a masterpiece - I still listen to the songs on it a lot and they are all as explosive as the first time. WE CONTINUE TO STAN.

Nah, she'll never top Born This Way. It's as close to perfection as you can get.

I listened to this in full again today and Americano sounded insane!!!
Always been my least favourite but for some reason today it snapped and sounded crazy good. I think in a future rate it may actually move from the bottom. I try and listen to this as a full album every few weeks if I can. Really hope this can return to the top 200 when we get LG6. |

I've always liked Americano!
Born This Way is definitely her best album, The Fame Monster and Joanne are next. The original Fame and Artpop are really very poor indeed imo. |

It ranks in the bottom 3 of the album for me still! I can see why tbh. If I had to get rid of one song off the album I’d have definitely went for either that or Black Jesus. The only two songs on the album less than 8.5/10’s for me (and even then they’re both a 7!) |

I think BJ+AF is so underrated. I didn't like it much myself at first as it was "too Madonna" but I totally love it now.

It's on its way up in my affections also, I'd have placed it next to last when the album was first released.

Will she ever top this album? What a masterpiece - I still listen to the songs on it a lot and they are all as explosive as the first time. WE CONTINUE TO STAN. Yes. She topped it with The Fame Monster! This album's okay, but it's not like the album of a generation as she said It's full of Steps-lite CHEESE! Honestly I don't listen to it anymore. It's aged so so badly. Let's look: 01 Scheiße (11) 02 Heavy Metal Lover (04) 03 The Edge of Glory (10) 04 Government Hooker (06) 05 Bloody Mary (-1) - Steps called. They want their song back. 06 Born This Way (08) 07 Americano (02) 08 Marry the Night (09) 09 You and I (06) 10 Electric Chapel (01) 11 Black Jesus † Amen Fashion (00) 12 Fashion Of His Love (00) 13 Judas (04) - honestly embarrassed to be caught listening to this. The chorus is so CHEESY and Steps-lite. The verses are fine, but that cheesy chorus MAN ALIVE. This nearly finished her career too. She should have released Sheibe or Marry the Night or Edge as second single. 14 Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) (08) 15 Bad Kids (06) 16 Hair (10) 17 The Queen (00) A bit of a mixed bag really. Bring back The Fame Monster! Show us your TEETH! |

I’ve never ever got the steps like comparison and I’ve heard a lot of people mention it in regards to Judas.
If any recent song sounds steps like it’s no tears left to cry (but that’s not even a bad thing as that’s iconic in its own right) On Born This Way I hear Whitney in certain tracks definitely Fashion of His Love which sounds way more like I wanna dance with somebody than what Born This Way did Express Yourself. I do hear slight Madonna on some tracks though. Bad Kids reminds me of Michael Jackson too but it samples They Don’t Care About Us doesn’t it? |

Yes, the nods to the Queen and King of pop are so blatantly obvious on BTW, but then again, everything around Gaga is built on the legacy of those, Elton John and David Bowie with some Whitney in the mix (most recently INLA).
She still makes it all so unique with her artistry and passion! This post has been edited by SKOB: 3rd August 2019, 11:17 AM |

That's why I think that Joanne is her "most Gaga" album as it has only couple of clear nods to other artists (Hey Girl is basically Elton John).

Such a fantastic album
These 10 are all great, some of course slightly better than others, but I'd still put them on the same level 01. Marry the Night 02. Bloody Mary 03. Heavy Metal Lover 04. The Edge of Glory 05. Scheiße 06. Government Hooker 07. You and I 08. Electric Chapel 09. Born This Way 10. Judas now the rest of the album is not as strong, which is okay since it'd be impossible to have a 17 track album full of 9/10 or 10/10 songs. But I still kinda wish these were all the bonus tracks Maybe include Americano since it kinda sticks out compared to the rest of them in this bunch 11. Americano 12. Hair 13. Fashion Of His Love 14. Bad Kids 15. Highway Unicorn (Road To Love) 16. The Queen 17. Black Jesus † Amen Fashion |

Bad Kids above Highway Unicorn? I used to skip BK all the time and over the last couple of years it really grew on me. Highway Unicorn is cringey, then again so is Hair but I guess Hair brings me back some memories of those amazing performances so that gives it a boost on my personal list. |
