Let's get going then! Years & Years sneak in with Sanctify, their comeback track which was a reasonably big hit compared to the UK charts. Justin Timberlake and Paloma Faith both represent a selection of hits in this year's countdown that failed to make the weekly top 10, but ended with solid runs nonetheless. Janelle Monáe on the other hand did make the top 10, just about, with critic favourite Make Me Feel, and Avril Lavigne's triumphant return closes out the section as Head Above Water finishes at #71!

not a huge fan of any of those so far, Say Something was decent enough for JT but I prefer Filthy. Sanctify was an underwhelming comeback too but still better than If You're Over Me.

Feel It Still reached #10 on 2017's EOY, though reaching its UK chart peak at the start of this year gave it extra longevity here. Robyn's loooong-anticipated return single Missing U quickly reached the top 5 in August. Virtual Self's Ghost Voices was previously a bjsc hit for yours truly but took off on the Multi once radio play increased. Then we have collabs from The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar on Pray For Me (the other Black Panther soundtrack hit is still to come), and Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line's Meant To Be peaked at #18 with 18 weeks on the chart

Aww, I thought 'Feel It Still' was gonna challenge for top 10 again, would've been amaze for it to be that high in two consecutive EOYs *_* Quite odd for it to be firmly a 2017 hit on Buzzjack and firmly a 2018 hit in the UK

Is Cher top 65? No, but these songs are! Ocean is the first of two appearances for Khalid and the only one for Martin Garrix. Anne-Marie also loses her first of two entries with 2002. The next three all spent 17 weeks on the Multichart – in Troye’s case it’s his longest runner of the year, even beating My My My! Girls Like You (thankfully) missed the top 10 here but In My Feelings snuck in for a few weeks – it’s Drake’s only appearance in this EOY.

Queen of longevity in the official chart, Freya Ridings didn't manage QUITE as long in the multichart but Lost Without You still notched up a very healthy points total considering it didn't make the weekly top 10, or even close! Robyn appears again with Honey, and though it peaked lower than Missing U, it's done better overall! Little Mix's Woman Like Me didn't do quite as strongly as many of their singles, including #1 hit Only You which is still to come, and shares a peak with Christine and the Queens' comeback single Girlfriend. Closing out the section is Craig David's I Know You, a song released in 2017 that reached its peak at the top of 2018.

Impressive run for Freya. The song was also a big grower in my chart. Good to see that Christine song getting big success here too.

Thunderclouds is the biggest hit from Labrinth, Sia and Diplo's LSD project so far, reaching #4. twenty one pilots' heavy comeback single Jumpsuit scored their third Top 10 hit on the Multichart, and Mabel & Not3s cracked the Top 10 for three weeks with Fine Line. The Finnish Eurovision entry - Saara Aalto's Monsters quickly peaked at #19, and lingering around for the rest of 'eurovision season' if you will. Charli XCX and Troye Sivan spent five unconsecutive weeks at #4 with their pop banger 1999 (the same peak as Troye's other hit which is yet to appear~)

Kicking off the top 50 is Anywhere, which broke the Multichart record for most weeks at #1 with 13! The previous record was 11 by Adele's Hello. Unfortunately those #1 weeks were split between two years which hinders Rita's position here. Sweet But Psycho just tied the Multichart record for most weeks at #2, and its chart run is also split between two years. Rise is Jonas Blue's biggest Multichart hit to date (only Mama has also made an EOY, placing 75th last year) while Ring Ring became Jax Jones' fifth top 5 Multichart hit, stellar consistency! And rounding off this section is Body by Loud Luxury, which is still an absolute banger.

Sneaking a week in the top 10, Back and Forth saw MK, Jonas Blue and Becky Hill all team up for a song that saw impressive longevity in the multichart. Having a rather similar run was If You're Over Me by Years & Years. It had three weeks top 10, all at #10. and spent all bar three of its 14 top 75 weeks in the top 20. Selena Gomez's Back to You hit the top 10 for four weeks, and features in this section with her new collaboration partner benny blanco, whose UK #1 single Eastside features here at #42. Finally, despite only an #18 peak, Keala Settle's This Is Me spent an impressive 21 weeks in the multichart and just misses out on this year's top 40.

Juice WRLD's debut hit Lucid Dreams hung around for over 20 weeks with a #16 peak, and M-22's First Time was even more of a slow burner, reaching similar heights. Cheat Codes & Little Mix's Only You got to #1 for a couple of weeks but appeared to dive off the chart rather quickly, fellow girl group M.O achieved a peak of #14 for four straight weeks, which i'm guessing is likely a first but can't say for certain magic.gif All I Am was a Jess Glynne song and got to #4 :shrug:

Lady Gaga narrowly missed out on what would've been her 13th Multichart #1, but Shallow had a strong run regardless to make the top 35. Troye's sophomore era had a strong start here with My My My reaching #4, a peak he matched later in the year with Charli XCX on 1999. Jax Jones played bridesmaid to Anywhere for 3 weeks (one was in 2017) and IDGAF for the next 3 - tough luck there! Finesse matches its UK chart peak here and showed a steadier chart run on the Multichart than it did officially. Camila also did well with Never Be The Same *insert obligatory comment that She Loves Control would've smashed too had it been a single* sleep.gif

Kendrick and SZA landed a slow-burner hit with their Black Panther anthem All the Stars, I expect it was as a result of Dev playing an instrumental on loop for 3 minutes on the chart??? Kylie scored a big hit with Stop Me From Falling, which actually outpeaked Dancing despite that still being left to come. Zedd's collaboration with friends Grey and country star Maren Morris landed him a global hit but not quite top 5 on the multichart, unlike Sigala & Paloma Faith's Lullaby, which spent four unlucky weeks at #2! Finally, there's Jess Glynne x

Silk City's Electricity gave Dua Lipa a fifth Multi #1, sneaking in there before Rita Ora's Let You Love Me took over for seven weeks (just over half of Anywhere's run at the top). Sigrid's big single Strangers climbed gradually to its peak, not long after her Sound of 2018 victory. Marshmello/Anne Marie's FRIENDS and Rudimental's These Days are also just outside the top 20, both former #1s as well (must've been a slow period)

Two months into the countdown and we're finally in the top 20. Rita Ora had two long-running #1s with Anywhere and Let You Love Me, but For You couldn't quite make it, blocked for a week by IDGAF. In My Blood is Shawn's third top 5 Multichart hit, matching the peak of There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back and just shy of the #4 peak of Stitches. In My Mind had twice as many weeks at its #3 peak than Flames, but the latter finishes higher here thanks to a slightly longer chart run. And Happier is quite higher than I expected with it being released later in 2018, it ended up charting 6 more weeks in 2019!

Just missing the top 10 now, Kylie Minogue's comeback track Dancing had a very impressive top 10 run, spending a huge 13 weeks there out of its total 17 in the top 75. Cardi B's I Like It was her biggest global hit, and that applies to the multichart too - her first and only top 10 so far as a lead artist. A couple of #1s follow - both Calvin and Ariana's second #1s of the year. Calvin managed to give Sam Smith his very first multichart #1. Ariana's God is a woman managed to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor to the top spot, and interestingly actually spent a week longer at #1! It's also beaten by breathin, which only peaked at #7 but has shown greater consistency around the top end of the chart.

CamelPhat's remix of Au/Ra's Panic Room brought it some chart success, moreso in the Multi with a #4 peak. The duo would score another top 10 hit afterwards with 'Breathe', and Au/Ra also picked up another top 40 as a feature on Alan Walker's 'Darkside'

It fell just short of #1 in the UK, but 'Paradise' made it there for two weeks on the Multichart! As many have said this was an unexpected success for George as previous single 'Don't Matter Now' had come and gone several months before without making an impact, but 'Paradise' had hit written all over it, as did his other 2018 hit which is still to come...

Unsurprisingly, Dua Lipa nabbed the multichart EOY #1 with New Rules in 2017, and poses a strong threat for 2018 too with One Kiss still in the running. IDGAF drops out here, the first of her three chart-toppers from 2018. It spent three weeks at #1, finally bringing an end to the record-breaking 13-week run of Rita Ora's Anywhere.

'Solo' only snuck in a solo week at #1 officially, but fared a lot better here with six weeks at the top! All five of Clean Bandit's #1s have had five or more weeks at the top. This was also Demi Lovato's first Multichart #1!

One of the biggest surprise global hits of the year, 5 Seconds of Summer managed their highest multichart peak to date with the #2 Youngblood, from their album of the same name. Quite possibly the biggest hit by a boyband in multichart history? At least since I've compiled it anyway!

Here's the official sleeper hit of 2018! 'High Hopes' somehow never made the Multichart top 10, but its lengthy chart run shows that Buzzjack truly does love it as it ends up top 3 on the year-end chart! A great song that deservedly became Panic! At The Disco's biggest hit in over a decade.

One song remains and I'm sure it's obvious what it is, but let's talk about the runner-up first. Ariana Grande's triumphant comeback took four weeks to hit #1 - actually longer than I'd have expected thinking back but it faced tough competition...from our winner nonetheless! This song achieved the two highest points tallies of the year as well, the only two weeks above 1,100 points. A monster hit, but not quite enough...!

It also finishes atop both end-of-year charts, buzzjack and the general public seeing eye to eye on this massive dance jam~
