Radio 1 heading out to Ibiza is one of the best events that takes place each year with their own DJs playing special sets with big names in the current dance music scene also making an appearance.

This year though things are a bit different with both Radio 2 and 1Xtra also heading out there for their own events too!


Radio 2 kick things off in just a couple of weeks time heading out to the White Isle for the first time ever as they go to celebrate the history of dance music from the past 30 years.

Gary Davies, Zoë Ball and Ana Matronic will be broadcasting shows over the weekend starting June 29th.

On Friday 29/06/18, Gary Davies will present a special Sounds of the 80s show broadcasting from 8pm-Midnight teaming up with Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza's Children of the 80s night. There will be performances from Tony Hadley, Carol Decker, The Fizz and Bonnie Tyler as well as a look back at some of the biggest dance tracks from the 80s.
On Saturday 30/06/18, Zoë Ball will be broadcasting from 3pm-6pm from the Pikes Hotel (where Wham! filmed Club Tropicana). Zoë will be joined by Faithless to perform a special set, with also a live mix from Groove Armada and an acoustic set from Morcheeba. Pete Tong will also join Zoë to discuss his best moments from Ibiza as well as Christian and Alan Anadon from Café Mambo and Tony Pike, owner of Pikes Hotel.
On Sunday 01/07/18, Ana Matronic will be broadcasting a live mix for her Dance Devotion show from Midnight-2am from Freddie's Bar at Pikes Hotel with some of the biggest dance anthems.




1Xtra's event takes place in between Radio 1's event with their own Saturday night takeover heading to Ibiza on August 4th. Hosted at Ibiza Rocks by Charlie Sloth and DJ Target, the likes of MistaJam, DJ Charlesy and Sian Anderson will be taking to the decks between 7pm and 11pm. This is also the first time 1Xtra has hosted an event in Ibiza. Special guests include Not3s, RAYE, Wretch 32 and Kojo Funds.




And of course, Radio 1 head out there too continuing their usual event, as they have done every year since 1995, with broadcasts happening on both August 3rd and August 5th at Café Mambo. Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, B.Traits, Benji B and Monki will be there with some special guests also expected to be announced over the coming weeks.
