Dave is back again with 'Funky Friday', which is a big improvement off his last single 'Hangman' (which was ages ago now). Got a banging beat and sounds fresher than half the other rap hits we've been getting. |

On first listen I'd say this actually doesn't sound as good as No Words or Hangman! My view may well change in the future though.

This is not half as good as 'No Words' (or 'Hangman' for that matter, and I even liked 'Ay Caramba' more), a bit mystified at its instant success on Spotify! Not terrible though, hope it'll be a grower if it's going to be a legit big hit.

It's also number one on Apple Music, there must be a load of Dave fans now I guess but it is rather surprising when Hangman only went to 30 and he's never had a top 10 before.

No Words was great, loved the chill out vibes of that. Guess as a similarity it reminds me of Post Malone where congratulations was the sleeper hit which got his name out there (in the UK at least) then bang rockstar comes along and smashes.
