I'm finding this a chore to watch and I'm only on episode 3 ugh I hope it improves

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 30th June 2018, 08:43 PM

Is Season 2 any better than Season 1? I didn't much like it and I don't get the hype.

Posted by: Klaus 30th June 2018, 10:37 PM

I think the hype only comes from Netflix laugh.gif

Posted by: Jαsє 30th June 2018, 11:13 PM

It's amazing? laugh.gif Critically raved about too.

As for season 2 - it took a couple of episodes for it to get going but it's now bloody brilliant. The ending of episode 6 made me GASP. Just grim! I've only got 3 episodes left to watch cry.gif

Posted by: lewistgreen 1st July 2018, 03:39 PM

Episode 8 in particular was refreshing, was good to see an ‘episode’

Posted by: Cameron 14th July 2018, 06:28 PM

Absolutely loved season 2! This is just such a great show. Very lighthearted and an easy watch

Posted by: Jay ☆ 15th July 2018, 11:49 AM

Binge-watched both seasons in a couple of days, which probably makes it clear that I really, really enjoyed it! heart.gif Amusing and compelling, and so convincingly 80s looking.

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 19th July 2018, 02:11 PM

Watched the first episode of season 2, still not loving this. I don't get why people love it so much. I'll keep watching though.

Posted by: ♡ Heezus Froot ♡ 27th July 2018, 06:45 PM

So season 2 did manage to win me over, particularly with Welfare Queen's story. Then I got around to really like Sam, he got great character development. Officially loving this now.

By the way, why isn't it renewed yet? Should I worry?

An interesting article about the fact S3 hasn't been confirmed -

I'd be very shocked if it's not renewed!

Officially renewed for a 3rd season wub.gif

wub.gif Excited for this! Think I might re-watch the first two seasons in advance of the Season 3 premiere.

Posted by: dandy* 12th August 2019, 05:49 PM

Anyone else watched this?

We finished it over the weekend and I thought it was better than last season. Not a lot of focus on the wrestling at all really but I liked pretty much all the character arcs this season and as usual it managed to throw in a fair few lol moments. Never see much of a buzz for it though, expecting it to be next to be culled tbh.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 20th September 2019, 08:29 PM

How bittersweet! I'm incredibly glad it's getting another season though (I feared it being cancelled and ending on that cliffhanger). It's such a brilliant show, I wish it received more attention. sad.gif

As the novel coronavirus pandemic continues its surge across the United States, Hollywood is beginning to resume various film and television productions in accordance with strict safety protocols. Unfortunately, Brie's hit Netflix series, GLOW, is facing a longer hiatus than most given the close-contact nature of the women's wrestling show. Production on GLOW's final season was originally scheduled to begin in March, just as the industrywide shutdowns began.

Every production has its hands full when it comes to figuring out a way to resume shooting, but GLOW really has its work cut out for itself given the physical nature of the series. Do you anticipate every character wearing gloves in the final season, amongst other things?

Alison Brie: I don’t. Sadly, I think it’s going to mean a longer hiatus for our show than probably for some other shows that might be able to get back to work sooner and maintain a safe environment. I think especially because it’s the final season and we already know that, there’s a sense of wanting to preserve what the show is. And at its heart, it’s a wrestling show. It’s a really physical show. It’s the main driving force of these characters and how they’ve found themselves through wrestling and through this close contact with one another - with one another’s bodies, specifically. So, I think if we really tried to change that, it would feel like a different show. I think it’s going to be more rapid testing and see if we can just monitor everybody’s health to make sure actors can be in close proximity to one another.”

Understandably we could be in for a long wait for the fourth and final season! sad.gif

I'd love for more BuzzJack members to watch GLOW... it's so good! heart.gif

Can they not just quarantine the entire cast (and probably crew) for 14 days and then shoot the entire thing? I know it's very difficult, but I can't see this show done any other way.

Posted by: lewistgreen 5th October 2020, 10:15 PM

Sadly because of whats been happening Netflix have taken the decision to cancel the series altogether sad.gif

Posted by: Jay* 7th October 2020, 11:30 AM

Ugh, that's incredibly disappointing cry.gif

Posted by: dandy* 9th October 2020, 11:46 PM

Noooooooo! Ffs there only needed to be one more season :/

Posted by: -Jay- 12th February 2023, 06:53 PM

This cancellation still stings... dry.gif

Kate Nash shared some behind the scenes pictures of when they were filming Season 4, revealed that 2 episodes had been completed and that there were scripts for the entire season:

It was meant to be the final season, so it's incredibly annoying that Netflix wouldn't invest in bringing the story to its conclusion. sad.gif They'd gone quite far into the making of it... they could have put it on ice until it was safer to film again... or reduce it down to being a movie that wrapped things up rather than a full series.

Marc Maron is dropping Glow spoilers, but Alison Brie won’t
Alison Brie is staying mostly mum on Glow's unfinished final season, but Marc Maron has spoiled a major plot point
By Mary Kate Carr

Many still mourn the untimely cancellation of Glow on Netflix, cutting the show off at the knees before it could commence with its planned finale. Nowadays a cancellation like that is all too common, but at the time it stung deeply, particularly for those involved. Star Alison Brie has referred to it as “the great heartbreak of my career,” but she’s still kept the fourth season’s secrets under lock and key, unlike some co-stars she could name. (It’s Marc Maron.)

During a Q&A moderated by The A.V. Club, Brie was asked about what the final season of Glow would have looked like. “Well, I’ll tell you that my husband was recently on Marc Maron’s podcast, and Maron was like, ‘Me and your wife were gonna hook up in the final season you know. We were gonna get together.’ And I was like, ‘Are we telling people that we were gonna get together…?’” She said. “I mean, unofficially, I do think that Sam and Ruth were gonna have some kind of hookup.”

Though Maron may be dropping spoilers, Brie is still reluctant to reveal too much. “It’s hard for me to speculate because I actually know everything that was gonna happen. Before we started shooting the fourth season, our showrunners told me the whole story for the season. And we were already going into it thinking it was our final season, and I was in tears by the end of their season-long synopsis,” she explained. “And I don’t know why I feel nervous sharing it, like, the show is dead. She’s dead! And I have heard no rumors about people rallying behind that to bring it back. But for some reason I’m like, should I just tell you everything?”

Here’s what she was willing to dish: “I do think there was a spin-off network… How did season three end? We were at the airport. I’m like, ‘Okay, it opens on Ruth,’” she teased. “I think that Ruth was gonna go back to her hometown for a little while as if she was gonna maybe quit wrestling, and then get sucked back in, the [usual]. I’ll neither confirm nor deny that that’s the plot of the first episode that we shot that no one will ever see.”

“And then later in the season I think Maron and I were gonna have sex,” she added, before joking: “And we were gonna do it for real. That’s it, the interview’s over, soooo…”

... if we're never going to see what was filmed and if it's never going to be revived, can they really be "spoilers"? I think fans who were so invested in Glow deserve to know what was going to happen!
