BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Camila Cabello feat. DaBaby - My Oh My

Posted by: JosephCarey 23rd December 2019, 12:50 AM

My Oh My is gaining traction globally and is being sent to US pop radio, so it seems like they're acting quickly and making it a single! Looks like the Romance campaign isn't dead in the water just yet. Pleased because this is such a tune!

I had a feeling this would be a single but it’s a bummer how it’s only on the digital album as it’s not on the physicals format. Can see this potentially going top 10 though tbh.

Posted by: Wall 24th December 2019, 09:49 PM

Not sure if this will happen now.

Apparently she’s left epic and she’s agreed a deal with Atlantic recorded. Same label as Ed Sheeran.

Posted by: Jαsє 25th December 2019, 11:48 AM

This needs to be huge

Posted by: tommie 26th December 2019, 06:28 AM

Meh, disappointed it's not an Aqua cover.

She needs to do better ~

Posted by: LMLou 27th December 2019, 03:52 PM

#19 on UK Spotify today, #13 without the Xmas songs above it! It's looking to be bigger than Liar at this point

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 28th December 2019, 04:02 PM

Been hooked on this recently. wub.gif

Hope it's massive.

Posted by: Jαsє 2nd January 2020, 04:57 PM

I wonder if R1 will drop Living Proof seeing as though it's doing absolutely nothing (which is a huge shame because it's stunning) and just go with this?

Posted by: Wall 2nd January 2020, 06:39 PM

Yeh this needs to be pushed ASAP while it’s hot on Spotify

Posted by: Jordan Lee 3rd January 2020, 06:19 PM

#13 in the UK this week.

Already outpeaking Liar!

Posted by: pippa 3rd January 2020, 07:44 PM

This should make its way to a Top 10 position in the week we have just started.

Posted by: shadow2009 4th January 2020, 02:10 PM

#10 on UK Spotify.

Posted by: Brit 4th January 2020, 08:10 PM

This will be big for her top 10 on Spotify and no video yet

Posted by: shadow2009 8th January 2020, 09:27 PM

#50 in US and #13 in UK is already the best peaking single from the album. Liar peaked at #52 and #21.

Posted by: Bjork 9th January 2020, 12:34 PM

^senorita says hi smile.gif

Posted by: The S***e 25th January 2020, 04:45 PM

I didn't like Senorita but this and Liar are such bops!

Posted by: Wall 25th January 2020, 05:03 PM

I can’t believe how quickly this has slowed down, it was smashing on Spotify despite limited playlisting into comparison now.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 25th January 2020, 05:49 PM

The week it was #13 here in the UK I thought it would possibly end up making the top 5!

I suppose it can still be a hit though. I hope she performs part of this at The GRAMMYs tomorrow.

Posted by: LewisGT 11th February 2020, 01:05 PM

Video coming tomorrow. Excited for this one.

Posted by: LMLou 11th February 2020, 02:02 PM

I'm a little hopeful that with it already climbing on Spotify and iTunes recently and with the video boost it could maybe get a new peak in the next couple weeks...

Posted by: Jonjo 13th February 2020, 11:36 AM

Very good video, if a little hollow.

Posted by: Wall 13th February 2020, 01:45 PM

Nah

Posted by: Bjork 13th February 2020, 04:49 PM

I find her videos so weird as opposed to amazing

Posted by: George.keh 13th February 2020, 05:14 PM

Hate it oops

Posted by: Bjork 14th February 2020, 09:02 AM

She clearly has lots of $$$$ for videos but they always turn out to be so weird (in a bad way) biggrin.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 14th February 2020, 10:00 AM

I actually love the video!

I'm not gonna lie though, I did for the first part think the sound on my speakers was fucked.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 17th February 2020, 09:58 PM

Camila is the guest announcer on Saturday Night Takeaway this Saturday

I think the PCDs are the performers though but still a good TV slot.

Posted by: shadow2009 17th February 2020, 10:51 PM

This didn't half stall after such a promising start. :/

EDIT - and what a f***ing horrible video. A simple nightmare/horror/graveyard themed video would have done the job. Why is there always some cheesy CGI or light comedy or Hollywood movie type stuff in her videos? Havana was alright but this and Liar are TERRIBLE videos. Never Be The Same was a mess as well but at least that was simple and low budget and wasn't as f***ing try hard as this.

Shameless is the only decent video she's actually done.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 18th February 2020, 03:18 PM

Camila is quite Katy Perry like visually.

Posted by: blacksquare 23rd February 2020, 10:05 PM

What happened to this?

It looked like the stars were aligning and she was about to get another huge hit — and then it fizzled out?

Posted by: Wall 23rd February 2020, 10:27 PM

No idea how she’s not managed any promo slots tbh

Posted by: Jordan Lee 25th February 2020, 01:52 AM

This was partly used on LI last night.

I must admit I’m a bit surprised it didn’t really take off! That post Xmas clear out week I thought it was going too. But still it’s done well enough to become another top 20 hit by her.

Yes I agree, just seen it for the first time today and its a great music video, the best I have seen for a while.

Posted by: dannjohn 14th March 2020, 08:25 AM

Did the racism scandal intervene in this one’s success? Thought it was a sure fire top 5?

Posted by: Jay ☆ 14th March 2020, 04:26 PM

In terms of the UK, the song ran into difficulties in January when a lot of older established hits went back onto SCR, which pushed My Oh My down from #13 to #21.

Funnily enough it's had higher weekly sales in every week since its peak position week:

03/01/20 - #13 - 20,091
10/01/20 - #21 - 22,520
17/01/20 - #20 - 23,456
24/01/20 - #23 - 22,747
31/01/20 - #23 - 23,035
07/02/20 - #20 - 23,842
14/02/20 - #17 - 23,669
21/02/20 - #19 - 23,928
28/02/20 - #16 - 23,735
06/03/20 - #18 - 22,734
13/03/20 - #21 - 20,570

Chart Run so far: 69-50-49-13-21-20-23-23-20-17-19-16-18-21...

It's done well tbh, very consistent. 11 weeks and counting between the positions of 13 and 23. It's sold 291,405 so far, so it'll easily make its way to Gold in a few weeks.

Posted by: Wall 14th March 2020, 05:09 PM

Her label really should have released the video quicker

Posted by: Bjork 16th March 2020, 10:26 AM

at the end of the day, people didn't connect with the song,
the song had crazy support on Spotify, which never translate in high streams,
I mean if a song is top 10 for 2 months on HH
and cannot make the top 10 on Spotify it really means the song is not connecting with the GP

not sure what else the label could have done, sure they spent gazillions of $ on promo and payola checks, really think they're kinda losing money with Camila

Posted by: The S***e 16th March 2020, 12:39 PM

Well every single I have liked from her apart from Señorita which got annoying quickly, even the ballad Bad Things, she is best at 'bops' like Liar and My Oh My though.

Posted by: LMLou 5th April 2020, 09:49 PM

This is set to go close to the top 10 in the US this week and is still getting large radio gains, looks like this could be another top 10 in America for her which I'd never had expected

Posted by: Bjork 6th April 2020, 06:59 AM

really? wow didn't see that coming

See it's #8 on airplay and is predicted to be around #12-13 this week

Posted by: LewisGT 1st May 2020, 12:22 PM

She's really trying to get this into the top 10 of Billboard.

She has just released a new remix with Gunna and is also releasing another music video ("official dance video") for the original in 2 hours time.

Posted by: Bjork 1st May 2020, 12:40 PM

the song has been just outside the top 10 in the US for weeks now, so thats probably what the song needs to go top 10

Posted by: JulianNial 1st May 2020, 01:51 PM

It would also pay her well to release a physical deluxe with 'My Oh My' and maybe a brand new single and extra tracks (Scar Tissue?).

Posted by: Scene 1st May 2020, 02:14 PM

The Romance era needs to be redeemed tbh. Cut out half the turds, keep the likes of Liar, My Oh My, This Love and one or two others and replace the rest with better songs.

Also a good idea, I have actually never revisited the album tracks at all since it's release day. wink.gif
