'Heroes' was confirmed as selling 55k physicals so has a grand total of 255k with downloads/streams added (well, 264k actually because it didn't sell exactly 200k on downloads/streams, only passed that mark, but I'll leave it at 255k for the purposes of this thread and continuity). 'The Fear' sold 486k in 2009 so has managed 114k downloads/streams, working out as ~19k per year (better than 'Smile'). Yes, 'Post to Be' has managed 200k with a peak of #74 - the beauty of streaming! 'Young Folks' sold ~15k in 2006 and 55k in 2007, meaning 130k downloads/streams. I'm uncertain what 'Creep' sold in 1993 but I'd imagine it was less than 100k for it didn't make the y/e, so its overall total should be approaching 500k. 'Read My Mind' sold 74k in 2007 (and unknown cherry picks in 2006) which means ~126k downloads/streams. |

Omarion I swear, a little promo and it would've been huge I don't remember it doing well on streaming? It was in the 50s on iTunes for months though

IMPORTANT: Am I right in thinking that only 'Holler' from back in the day is now yet to go at least Gold? I know 'Headlines' hasn't but I'm thinking back to the days when they were an active recording act. Finally! 'Stop' sold about 330,500 copies in 1998 so that's 69,500 or so since then, probably most of the sales will be since it was made available as a digital single in November 2004 which is a decent amount. |

That's right! Holler/LLLTW is silver certified (most recent sales figure: 260,000 copies as of May 2015).
I'd been hoping for a while that Stop would go gold, so we could finally have a new figure for it (i.e. 400k). Beyond the 330,500 sales from the 1998 EOY, 334,369 copies was revealed on this forum, back in June 2009. I'm convinced that must have been its overall physical sales, with downloads missing for some reason! |

Rita Ora - Coming Home - Silver - Released: 2015 Spice Girls - Stop - Gold - Released: 1998 The La's - There She Goes - Silver - Released: 1988 The Libertines - Can't Stand Me Now - Silver - Released: 2004 TLC - Waterfalls - Gold - Released: 1995 Albums Eels - Souljacker - Silver - Released: 2001 Enrique Iglesias - Escape - 5x Platinum - Released: 2001 Jack Savoretti - Written in Scars - Gold - Released: 2015 Jamie Lawson - Jamie Lawson - Gold - Released: 2015 John Mayall & Eric Clapton - Blues Breakers - Gold - Released: 1966 The Clash - The Clash - Gold - Released: 1977 Various Artists - Now That's What I Call Pop - Gold - Released: 2015 'I'm Not Alone' is Calvin's sixth solo single to pass 600k - it sold 435k in 2009 which means 165k in 6 years since (~27k per year). 'Afire Love' is Ed Sheeran's 18th song to be certified (including features) as well as the 4th non-single from x to be certified! 'Praise You' sold 269k in 1999 which means 131k since. 'Do What U Want' includes sales for the three weeks it was ineligible for the chart. 'Knights of Cydonia' sold about 25k in 2006 and maybe another 10k in 2007, so a whopping ~165k on downloads/streams! 'Stop' sold 331k in 1998 as Jay pointed out, so 69k downloads/streams. Have no idea what 'There She Goes' sold in 1988 and 1990 (I always thought it was released around 2006 oops!) but it must be over 300k in total. 'Can't Stand Me Now' sold 43k in 2004 (terrible for a #2, even in 2004!) but has managed 157k in trickle sales and streams! In regards to 'Waterfalls', one source says it sold 367k in 1995 but that would mean 33k downloads/streams which seems to low, so I'm assuming those 367k sales have since been downgraded. In March 2014, OCC revealed it had sold 333k in total but I very much doubt it has sold 67k between then and now, so I'm guessing these are the downgraded 90s sales. Therefore, I'd suggest 67k downloads/streams. 'Need You Now' has become the 16th single from the 21st century to pass 600k without ever reaching the Top 10. In alphabetical order, these are the full 16: Adele - Set Fire to the Rain (#11) Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? (#11) Birdy - Skinny Love (#17) Bruno Mars - Marry You (#11) Christina Perri - A Thousand Years (#11) Disclosure ft. Sam Smith - Latch (#11) Ed Sheeran - I See Fire (#13) Ed Sheeran - Photograph (#15) Idina Menzel - Let It Go (#11) Imagine Dragons - Radioactive (#12) Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up (#11) Jason Mraz - I'm Yours (#11) Jay Z & Linkin Park - Numb/Encore (#14) Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (#15) Mumford & Sons - I Will Wait (#12) Train - Hey, Soul Sisters (#18) |

With Stop passing 400k it has sold over 60k steams/downloads, Say You'll Be There seems to have barely increased sales wise in any snippet of sales the OCC have given out. Do we think Say You'll Be There had its original physical sales downgraded? I cant see Stop selling 60k+ but Say You'll Be There having seemingly sold less than 10k in the same time.

Say You'll Be There was said to have sold 915,000 by the end of the 90s, so unless that figure was downgraded, it's therefore sold at least 45,000 downloads. (The 960,000 figure provided last summer was sales only).

Surely some announcement is due from BPI or OCC? New all time chart perhaps? Glaringly missed out Dirty Dancing in the above list or is it because it's various artists?

Surely some announcement is due from BPI or OCC? New all time chart perhaps? New all-time chart is coming soon to celebrate the 60th anniversary. The UK Album Chart began on W/E 28th July 1956. QUOTE Glaringly missed out Dirty Dancing in the above list or is it because it's various artists? No, it has certifications, but not combined. ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - ULTIMATE DIRTY DANCING 3 x Platinum Certification (Album) 22 July 2013 ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - DIRTY DANCING - OST 5 x Platinum Certification (Album) 01 January 1991 Expect more upgrades in the coming weeks wherever there’s data available for all-time sales from the Official Charts Company. It won’t be done in one fell swoop, but BPI will be working through the Official Charts’ lists to try and ensure parity with the sales they’ve reported. |

New all-time chart is coming soon to celebrate the 60th anniversary. The UK Album Chart began on W/E 28th July 1956. No, it has certifications, but not combined. It won’t be done in one fell swoop, but BPI will be working through the Official Charts’ lists to try and ensure parity with the sales they’ve reported. The Dirty Dancing soundtrack has reported total sales of 3.15 million in the UK, so those separate certifications do not tally... Also Thriller had sales reported by OCC in 2012 of 4.273m yet it is awarded a 13xplatinum award, not 14... |

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - 17x Platinum - Released: 1967 U2 - The Joshua Tree - 8x Platinum - Released: 1987 Various Artists - Disco Fever - Silver - Released: 2010 Whitney Houston - Whitney - 7x Platinum - Released: 1987 '1 2 Step' sold 106k in 2005 so has managed 94k since. 'Goodies', which made it to #1, still hasn't been certified Silver and sold just 83k in 2005. I imagine its sales are probably 180k+ though. 'Supermassive Black Hole' is the first Muse single to reach Gold. It sold only 88k in 2006 so has managed a whopping 312k since! (FYI, it had sold 230k by August 2010). 'Hey Porsche' sold 353k in 2013 so has managed 47k since. 'Live Forever' sold just 97k in 1994 but, like most Oasis singles, sold lots of trickle sales throughout the 90s and will have managed decent downloads and streams too. 'Jenny Don't Be Hasty' sold 44k in 2006, meaning 156k since. 'ill Manors' sold 153k in 2012, meaning 47k since. 'Wherever You Will Go' sold just 149k in 2002 but sold another 127k in 2011 thanks to the, albeit dreadful, cover. The song was already a decent trickle seller (233k the week before it re-entered the Top 40 in 2011) but shifted even better trickle sales since. 'Rack City' sold 114k in 2012, meaning 86k since. 'Hold On' sold an estimated 211k in 1990 so has sold 411k in total. These are the newly updated certifications for albums that date beyond 1994 but still have their full sales taken into consideration, opposed to just 1994+ sales. 6,000,000+ Queen - Greatest Hits 5,100,000+ ABBA - Gold: Greatest Hits 5,100,000+ The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 4,200,000+ Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms 4,200,000+ Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon 3,900,000+ Michael Jackson - Thriller 3,900,000+ Queen - Greatest Hits II 3,300,000+ Bob Marley & The Wailers - Legend 3,000,000+ Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell 3,000,000+ Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water 2,700,000+ Jeff Wayne - Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds 2,700,000+ Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2,700,000+ Phil Collins - ...But Seriously 2,400,000+ ABBA - Greatest Hits 2,400,000+ Original Soundtrack - The Sound of Music 2,400,000+ U2 - The Joshua Tree 2,100,000+ R.E.M - Automatic for the People 2,100,000+ Whitney Houston - Whitney Note: The certifications for Queen's Greatest Hits and Greatest Hits II include a percentage of various GH boxset collections, most significantly The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III. I've seen estimates that put Sgt. Pepper on closer to 3.5m, The Dark Side of the Moon closer to 3.9m and Legend over 4m, Thriller does not include sales for Thriller 25 (sales of which would add an extra 400k/500k. Finally, remember that these albums may have sold more than the amount the certification suggests (album certifications from Platinum and beyond go up in 300k so, for instance, Whitney's album could have sold anything between 2.1m and 2.4m). |
