Let's see who Buzzjack thinks will be this year's Christmas Number 1... personally I think it's a three horse race but more than likely it will go to the X Factor winner again this year.

Fairly sure it'll be the X Factor winner.

I'd happily accept X Factor if their winners song was about Christmas otherwise I'd prefer Band Aid.

I voted for LFO out of hope rather than logic.

Sadly it will be the X Factor winner but I'm hoping Peace Collective or even Band Aid can do it

X factor winner, unfortunately. I'm fed up with them releasing a dreary song every year on the back of the show. There is no proper imagination or creativity gone into the release. Its just another way of lining Cowell's pocket. I seriously hope another song makes it but its unlikely.

Is Ariana pushing that Christmas song here as a single then?

I'm not entirely sure tbh, it would be nice if she did though, it's nice to hear an original (and quite good) Xmas song.

Surely it will be X Factor, definitely hoping for Band Aid 30 to hang on, though.

The X Factor's popularity has dwindled over the last few years though, so I wouldn't be too surprised if the winner's single this year opened with less than 200k - depending on who actually wins of course.

The X Factor winner will get it I think, it'll have the download advantage definitely and if it's actually Fleur that wins, it may sell quite well if just she seems a lot more contemporary and likely to have a decent chart career than other recent winners, so she may get a more inspired/less dreary choice? (wishful thinking and it'll be Say Something ). Band Aid will have definitely lost the download/streaming advantage, but they could be selling truckloads of physical singles. Hard to tell how close it'll be atm really.
Nothing else will come close I think, is that Iron Maiden song new material or yet another futile 'stop the X Factor' campaign? |

I put 'Something else'
I have nothing in mind but I don't think XFWS will last that long at the top. Baid might get there looking at the ASDA pre's... |

If there's a decent X-Factor winner, then I'm all for them getting the Christmas number-one. Peace Collective is my guess though.

X Factor AGAIN!!
X Factor's false show of humility, promising not to keep hijacking the Xmas no.1 following the Rage campaign, was crocodile's tears. As soon as the campaign was out of public consciousness two years later, he moved BACK to hijacking this British tradition. Shame. |

I hope the X Factor winner isn't somebody decent...not that I watch it. But it's definitely not a good move for anyone who shows any independence, any edge whatsoever. They'll be forced into singing whatever SyCo want with no creative control at all. Much better to crash out before the semi-final having had enough exposure to release their own records.
Look at the bloke who did the Biffy Clyro cover. Or the "tough" guy from a year or two ago. I can't even remember their names. So, I hope the winner of X Factor is a boy band or pop dolly who know exactly what they're getting into - short term success and several years afterwards turning up to "appearances" in small town nightclubs. |

X Factor is *released* that week, so it won't have any previous time at the top. 2. Band Aid's supposed pre-orders come into effect way before then too. Nothing to do with Xmas #1 week |
