It’s that time of year again… Over the past year 221 songs have charted on the Electro Top 40 with 22 different numbers one throughout the year (1 more than last year): Harry Styles // Adore You (2 Weeks) Duke Dumont // Therapy (2 Weeks) Becky Hill x Shift K3Y // Better Off Without You (3 Weeks) New Hope Club // You and I (3 Weeks) Duke Dumont // Love Song (3 Weeks) Troye Sivan // Take Yourself Home (2 Weeks) Dua Lipa // Break My Heart (2 Weeks) New Hope Club // Worse (4 Weeks) Jake Bugg // Rabbit Hole (3 Weeks) Karen Harding x Digital Farm Animals // Undo My Heart (2 Weeks) Joel Corry ft MNEK // Head and Heart (6 Weeks) The Vamps // Married in Vegas (1 Week) The Weeknd // Save Your Tears (3 Weeks) HRVY x Matoma // Good Vibes (1 Week) Sigala x James Arthur // Lasting Lover (2 Weeks) Becky Hill // Space (1 Week) The Vamps // Better (1 Week) Royal Blood // Trouble's Coming (2 Weeks) Jake Bugg // All I Need (2 Weeks) CamelPhat x Skream ft Max Milner // Keep Movin’ (4 Weeks) Will Saul x Paul Woolford // Your Time Is Up (1 Week) Solardo x Rowetta // Enough (2 Weeks) In terms of weeks at the top this year the award for most weeks goes to New Hope Club who clocked up a total of 7 weeks at the top between Worse and You and I – Last Year they managed to claim victory as Love Again was my EOY Number 1 song. The longest single song at the top of the chart is Joel Corry ft MNEK with Head and Heart which spent 6 weeks at the top however Becky Hill. Jake Bugg, The Vamps, Duke Dumont and New Hope Club all managed to top the charts twice throughout the year. Electro EOY Number 1's 2018 = Troye Sivan x Ariana Grande // Dance To This 2019 = New Hope Club // Love Again I’m going to countdown the top 125 songs that made it on the chart (same as last year); including their chart run, peaks etc. This is based on a points format eg 40pts for Number 1, 39pts for Number 2 etc etc to 40 getting a point. I guess this means that songs still charting are hindered slightly, however that is the case with end of years charts anyway normally with sales etc and those songs will no doubt feature in my 2021 chart. 125 = Calvin Harris x The Weeknd // Over Now = 125pts
Chart Run (06-08-18-25-29-36-40) Peak = 06 Weeks on Chart = 7 Weeks Kicking off the top 125 is Calvin Harris and The Weeknd with a song which I thing in hindsight was quite underwhelming really. I didn’t mind this when it was first released and to be honest The Weeknd has such a great voice… but it didn’t really have much staying power. It peaked at 6, however tumbled out the chart after just 7 weeks. The song is ok, but a bit forgettable especially when you consider who is on the track, it should've been a lot more. This if the first of 2 appearances by Calvin Harris and the first of 4 entries from The Weeknd in the top 125. |

124 = 220 KID x JC Stewart - Too Many Nights = 125pts
Chart Run (35-18-21-21-24-30-33-33-35-37-39) Peak = 18 Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks At 124 is the second single by 220 KID with Too Many Nights, this spent 11 weeks on the chart which is quite a lot considering it only peaked at 18. This actually charted 1 place higher than Don’t Need Love, however that had an even lengthier run to place it high on my EOY Chart. I think this is good, however I think both the 220 KID tracks have been slightly lacking one way or another, no doubt 2021 will see more output from him. This is the first only song with JC Stewart to chart in my EOY, however the first of two appearances by 220 KID This post has been edited by ElectroBoy: 4th January 2021, 10:11 AM |

123 = Niall Horan – Black and White = 132pts
Chart Run (33-25-23-19-21-25-28-32-33-39) Peak = 19 Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks At 123 is the first of two appearances by Niall Horan on my EOY Chart. Nice to Meet Ya ended in 12th place last year on my EOY Chart, however none of his follow up singles have had quite that amount of impact. Black and White was the fourth song to be released from Niall’s second album and to be honest I don’t remember a huge amount about it – it did however reach 19 in my chart and clocked up 10 weeks. I like Niall a lot (plus extremely easy on the eye), but Nice to Meet Ya aside (and to a degree No Judgement) I think the second era’s of 1D’s solo output for me has been taken by Harry. |

122 = Billie Eilish // No Time To Die = 132pts
Chart Run (17-21-23-21-25-25-31-36-38) Peak = 17 Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks Next is the only entrant by Billie Eilish on this years EOY Chart. No Time to Die was the main song for the Bond film which then subsequently got pushed and pushed back due to Covid… so I guess this song may get a resurgence once the film is actually released. The song peaked at 17 and managed to clock up 9 weeks in total on the chart and yo-yo’d in the mid-twenties for a while. With a lot of Billie’s songs I usually initially like it and find it interesting and then tends to drop away quite quickly, this didn’t seem to really have the same type of impact. |

Too Many Nights Glad to see that appear here! Have you checked out any of JC Stewart's other songs? He's amazing!
Also small yay for No Time to Die - I'm not a massive fan of Billie, but this is by far the most tolerable of her songs for me. |

No Time to Die was a great track from Billie! Such a shame it's not actually got a film to go with it yet, wonder what they're going to do with that.
Looking at your list of #1s I think Good Vibes is probably my favourite, although lots I don't know so looking forward to making some discoveries! |

Haven't listened to any other JC Stewart stuff, but I may give it a look later today... I can't help but feel he's going to do alot of features in the coming year - like Zak Abel/ RAYE etc Thanks for commenting |

121 = Martin Garrix ft John Martin // Higher Ground = 138pts
Chart Run (17-12-18-20-28-32-36-40) Peak = 12 Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks At 121 is Higher Ground by Martin Garrix and John Martin – I guess over the years my chart has become more and more dance orientated. I think this is a decent song and John Martin has such a great voice, however it did only peak at 12 on my chart, however managed a total of 8 weeks before exiting. This is the soul entrant from John Martin on my EOY Chart, however Martin Garrix has a further 2 songs, one under YTram the other with Dean Lewis. |

120 = ZieZie x Aitch // French Kisses = 148pts
Chart Run (X-07-16-17-15-22-27-35) Peak = 07 Weeks on Chart = 7 Weeks (In 2020) Kicking off the top 120 is the start of a run of a few songs which all begun charting in 2019. The first of which is ZieZie and Aitch with French Kisses; this peaked at 7 in the first week of 2020, however due to it previously charting actually made 106th in my 2019 chart. I’m not even that much of a massive fan of the song, but I guess it had the numbers in both years to just make it into my EOYs. This marks the only entrant by either artist in my EOY; Rain just missed out for Aitch - however both made it fairly big last year with Buss Down which charted quite well. 119 = Example // Do it So Well = 148pts
Chart Run (X-13-18-18-21-21-25-31-35-39) Peak = 03 (Peaked in 2019) Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks (In 2020) At 119 is the only entry by Example this year with Do It So Well, which actually peaked at 3 in 2019 and made it into 2019’s EOY Chart at 110. In 2020 is managed to clock up a further 9 weeks in the chart and stayed around for quite a while. I’ve always been a big of a fan of Example from Won’t Go Quietly onwards… I much prefer his more dance orientated tracks and this is no exception. I doubt he’ll ever really cross-over again and make the impact he did with Changed the Way You Kissed Me/ Stay Awake, but he’s still producing some bangers. |

118 = Dua Lipa // Don’t Start Now = 148pts
Chart Run (X-09-13-16-19-25-28-33-37) Peak = 02 (Peaked in 2019) Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks (In 2020) Completing a hattrick of songs which started charting in 2019 is Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now. This is an absolute anthem and charted at 40 in 2019’s EOY, however only managed a peak of 2. In 2020 in managed to clock up 8 weeks on my chart before exiting, however clocked up 148pts in total. For anyone wondering how I’m breaking the ties; personal preference . This is still very much a song that I listen to and one of the best songs of the last few years. I charted 'Chronicles' by Example in 2020 but Do It So Well seems to have passed me by! A shame as it's sounding very classic Example which is what I loved him for in the first place, enjoying it a lot.

117 = Solardo x Rowetta // Enough= 148pts
Chart Run (12-02-01-01-X) Peak = 01 (2 Weeks @ Number 1) Weeks on Chart = 4 Weeks (Still Charting) At 117 is my current Number 1 and the final Number 1 of 2020. The song is an absolute banger and a bit of a throwback as it sounds very 90’s – which isn’t really a bad thing. This managed to clock up 4 weeks on my chart in 2020 and no doubt is going to impact more on the 2021 EOY chart as its continued its dominance at the top of my chart this week. This is actually the first of two appearance by Rowetta on my EOY chart – someone who’s voice is perfect for dance songs and its good to see her still releasing music. |

116 = Sam Smith // Diamonds = 150pts
Chart Run (12-15-23-25-31-33-34-31-30-26-X) Peak = 12 Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks (Still Charting) At 116 is the first and only appearance by Sam Smith on my EOY Chart. I’m not the biggest fan of Sam Smith (Latch and La La La aside) and find a lot of their music kind of dated; I have seen them live though (forced to watch at a festival) and thought their voice was good. Diamonds however is great and managed to peak at 12 before staying on my chart for the rest of the year. I doubt i'll ever be their biggest fan, but I guess my feelings must have mellowed slightly over the last year . |
