'Salt' is absolutely ancient, I heard it before I even heard 'Sweet But Psycho'...! It's an ok song but I don't see it saving her rapid career downturn oops

"Salt" is pretty bland, doesn't really go anywhere. A shame as I was hoping she would break through in a big way after "Sweet but Psycho".

I read it at Popjustice too, that the debut album is just Psycho + 13 new songs
and none of the other singles has made it (Torn, So Am I, etc)

'Kings and Queens' hit #10 this week on the Dutch top40. A bit weird to think that out of the actual singles (SBP, SAI, Torn and Salt), 'Torn' is the only one that didn't do anything and yet it's my personal favorite (and also not any less commercially appealing than the others). I think 'Torn' deserves a re-release now there's revived interest in her.
The album cover is horrendous and so are most of the song titles but we'll see what this album has to offer.
I also just listened to the singles on headphones and I must admit they sound better listening to them... not with headphones on.

I do think it’s set for at least a top 40 debut, possibly even top 20.
I think she has enough of a fanbase to clear like 3-4K copies. How it does in the long run is hard to determine it could be one of those what doesn’t peak high but spends a while in the lower regions or it could also drop straight out. But I think she’ll definitely go top 40 with this at worst.
I think so far she's proven to not really have a fanbase at all... some of her releases have done shockingly poorly on iTunes. I'm not sure I'd be confident in her being able to get a top 40 album (although the fact she's included so many old singles might help her out with their continuing residual streams I guess).
With albums though you need to sell less than you do on the singles chart to debut / peak higher and then I’m guessing this could have pre orders too. She tends to do better on physical sales too as well (well downloads). Idk I just have a feeling that she’s set for a top 20 debut.
I think she’ll deffo get top 40, possibly something similar to Bebe’s Expectations album but having said that it’s almost top 200 on Apple Music already and she hasn’t done badly on the iTunes pre-order chart for all that means. At best she could perform like Lauv’s album and scrape top 10?
The label will need to set up a tv and radio ad that absolutely hammer Sweet But Psycho and Kings and Queens

I don’t really get the concept cause you’d think the Hell section would have a darker side to it but So Am I and Sweet But Physco are in there and they’re just light hearted bops

She’s definitely got heaps of potential to be even better / take off further but I’ve liked everything she’s done so far.
Plus I do think it’s kinda needed right now in the charts that female pop should still succeed from newer artists.
OMG What's Happening sounds a bit Marina to me, could imagine it on one of her albums, I like it.

I heard this album a couple of days ago and Born to the Night and Tattoo are my fave non-singles.
This album is a solid debut. It doesn't really bring anything particularly new to pop, but as of right now, it fits the pop hole really nicely!

'Call Me Tonight' gives me very slight Little Mix circa Salute era album tracks teas with the chorus melody, except a lot more pop. (The melody reminds me of 'They Just Don't Know You')
'Sweet But Psycho' is one of the best pop songs of the 10's. Outstanding.

It's by far my favourite of the visuals she's done. It's elevated the song for me a lot too.
So now Naked is a favourite, Born to the Night is the best thing she's done since Sweet But Psycho and I really like Belladonna.

Not a bad song on the album *.* Yes it's not exactly innovative and the lyrics are hmm at times but it's a breath of fresh air to have a feel good pop album that is just pure camp pop all the way through My favourites of the new songs are Naked, Take You To Hell, Belladonna and Rumours. The synths in H.E.A.V.E.N are very blogpop.

It’s been ages since I’ve been hyped for a debut album as much as this and it didn’t disappoint me.
In terms of non concept, just fun pure pop moments she is that star for me.

A smidge disappointed in the album, bar Take You To Hell and Naked, none of the new songs stand up compared to the singles. None of them are duds by any means, but all 7/10 territory. Rumours, Belladonna and Call Me Tonight all have the makings of great songs, but the chorus sounds seriously underbaked on them all.
#1 in first set of mids. I'd like to say and think top 5 is guaranteed Really hoping she has a big enough gap to remain at #1, but we'll see later!

Excellent album. Of the new stuff, OMG, Call Me Tonight, Born To the Night (!) and Rumours in particular go hard. Loving the faint echoes of Ace of Base across the record, particularly on the Take You to Hell chorus. Who's Laughing Now is the best of the lot. Swap So Am I (what is this even doing in Hell?) for Freaking Me Out and you have a pretty flawless debut with the boundaries of the kind of popstar she is/aspires to be. GOOD JOB AMANDA!

So Am I was a top 15 hit! So I can see why it was included on the album. However having listened to the album I think there’s definitely stronger on there. I do like So Am I though it’s kinda like a cute Born This Way appreciation type song in its message. There are some Gaga influences on this. But yeah this sounds so European friendly like I can see her being one of those US stars who ends up having bigger European and Australian success compared to success in her native.
I wouldn’t have changed much on the tracklist tbh I think it’s pretty spot on not too short, not too long and pretty much no filler as well!
Stretched her lead by a small but but still isnt safe to hold that number 1.

Most of the album tracks are varying shades of solid with room to grow further except 'Belladonna' which caught my attention a lot more - I did think I'd be lured in a bit more by the dark side
'OMG What's Happening' is getting more infectious with each listen. This was also a reminder of how great 'Torn' is after not hearing it in a while. Is this available on vinyl at all? I'd be happy to help out its first week sales if so but I can't seem to find one.

Judging by the midweeks, it seems likely that Heaven & Hell will end up charting no lower than #2 in the UK! Pop Smoke still seems set to overtake by Friday, due to significantly stronger streaming.
Ava should exceed 8.5k (kind of difficult to predict though, because there's a chance that her official store hasn't given all of their CD/Cassette sales data so far to OCC yet... sometimes official stores can be late to do that). Pop Smoke on course to do 9k+.

#1 in today's mids still with 7.2k, but Pop Smoke is on 6.9k at #2. It's a shame she wouldn't be able to hold on to the #1 spot, but #2 is still a fantastic result, even more so for a pure pop artist like Ava! Especially considering I only expected a top 10 debut with 5k opening week sales.

#2. Absolutely ecstatic with that for her. It's a shame it couldn't quite hold onto the #1 but as everyone else has already said, it's at least 5 or so places higher than I had anticipated before the week started. 
The album for me is bang average, not bad by any means but I feel like you can get the measure of the album from the singles and the highlights for me we'd already heard (Sweet But Psycho ofc, plus Torn/Salt/Who's Laughing Now/OMG What's Happening). I don't think I'll really go back to anything else, it all kind of blended into one. It's fair enough that she's just giving us basic pop bops which we do need in music rn, but a whole album of it just kinda bored me at best.

well, a few months ago I would have never predicted it
but when looking at the schedule a few weeks ago
it was clear she had a shot at #1 as it was the emptiest week of the year
so wise label for picking up that date
but at the same time if they had made a crazy deal like cassettes at 1 pound instead of 12 pounds, she would be #1

Just because you all ASKED. It's a very cohesive pop album (perhaps TOO sonically similar in parts) and far better than it has any real right to be. She's been extremely clever with the singles released to date. Kings & Queens is properly incredible in any world.

#15 is stronger than I had anticipated too.
Last week seemed to be quite solid for new releases and re-issues. So I'm glad to see she ended up above a few of them that were higher in the mids!
I’m still really liking this album hope it sticks around in the top 40 for a few more weeks. There’s quite a lot of new entries this week but hopefully that won’t push it out the top 40 I think she could be between 31-40 this week. She must be doing quite good on streams though as she climbed from Monday to Friday this week.

I’ve heard a deluxe edition of this album is coming.
Don’t know about Deluxe Edition but Japanese Edition with 5 bonus tracks will out on Jan 2021.
Including Not your babie girl and 4 Acoustic versions.

Insinuating that the album reached 2.2 B streams in 3 months is also very misleading as half of those are from SBP which had a 2-year head start, plus a bunch of singles she released before the actual album.
I see that in the real proper Airplay chart she peaked at #2 for just 5 nanoseconds and is already down to #3

That’s how the streaming stats are presented for every artist though. Dua Lipa’s debut album is regarded as being the most streamed female album ever - that was boosted with the belated inclusions of One Kiss, Scared to Be Lonely and No Lie. The stats also includes the streams her pre-album singles achieved, which were well in advance of the album’s release.
That is fair enough but 2.2B is not the figure for this year alone and it’s kind of misleading to put both of these stats together. Still rather impressive though. Whoda thunk it lol

Great achievement considering after Sweet But Psycho it looked like each release was doing nothing until Kings & Queens. Up until then it didn’t even look like an album would eventuate.
I really expected a 'Poster Girl' type run with this album so I'm glad it's managed to maintain.
It's not top 100 on album sales, not top 100 on downloads, but charting thanks to streams
It's 300-ish on Apple Albums, so if it's doing well its cos of playlists

One of the few acts i like actually benefiting from streaming, im sure she does even a couple of physicals every week.
The album re enters at 91 in Ireland this week and its the albums 30th week in the top 100.
From my reckoning the album is silver now in the UK, sales in or around 63,000.
