She's going to be on the Alan Titchmarsh Show on 9th November. Hopefully to perform the new single, as well as flogging this dead horse of a project.

It was always pretty obvious this whole project was never gonna set the world alight, I'm just glad she made an album she can truly be proud of and shows what she was really capable of (which as a HUGE Girls Aloud fan, I never even had any idea).

This was, bar Bruno Mars' and Will Young's albums, one of my favourite albums of last year. I always said Nicola would produce the most sound solo album out of all of Girls Aloud - I loved Cheryl and Nadine's as well, don't get me wrong - but for me I just knew Nicola would come up with something that you could tell was 'her' when you heard it, especially with the lyrics, I love the lyrics in 'I' and also 'Sticks & Stones' because I feel I can identify with them so easily, as I think everyone can who's been in the situations she talks about, about not being accepted or people who hold pointless grudges over things that won't end the world tomorrow. And in a way I kind of like it that this album hasn't been like a huge commercial success like '3 Words' or 'Messy Little Raindrops' were for Cheryl, because for me it's one of those albums I can easily share with a friend and I can feel like it's my little discovery I'm passing on to other people. I think I must have played it to about 6 of my friends (without telling them who it was) since it's been out and when I've told them it's Nicola they've been really surprised, and have said how different and unique it is. Even if she never makes another album on her own she should be proud of making this record, because I know I would. Team Ginge FTW!

I wonder what the album total sales are, im sure it would picked up a few sales in the high selling christmas market so hopefully it has passed 30,000 sales.

I'd say it's probably still lower than 20,000 at this stage. It probably would have needed to have been within the Top 200 at the very least over Christmas to go anywhere near 30k.

It makes me SO sad that this flopped. It's honestly one of the best albums I've heard in recent years, and I think in a way the Girls Aloud tag actually harmed her.
With Cheryl & Nadine it helped (well not so much re Nads) cause they were kind of making throwaway pop music, whereas Nicola was alot more credible than both (rightly or wrongly), and had acclaim from NME and the like. Had she not have been a Girls Alouder I think she may have done better. |

She never stood a chance really. But we all knew that from the outset, she's made an album that she worked hard on and should be proud of in years to come.

Yeah I never expected it to sell or chart well regardless of how amazing it is. Tbh I'm surprised she even managed two Top 40 singles and a Top 20 album.
Seems that she is still recording new material though so I wonder if she will set up her own record label to release a 2nd album. |

I still reckon if she launched with Say It Out Loud things could have went very differently.

Am I the only one still obsessed with Nicola as a solo artist and this album? She is now my 12th most played artist ever on my last.fm!

I was playing it the other day, and it still a perfect album! Still not keen on Fish Out of Water or Take a Bite, but the rest are fantastic. Was my favourite "end of summer" album.

Fish Out of Water has finally clicked with me, it was always my least fave from the album. I actually can't believe I Love all 12 tracks. Also I need your last.fm profiles to stalk your Nicola love
