The two biggest Christmas songs every year for the past few years have been those by Mariah Carey and Wham! and with both Mariah doing big promo and the film based on Last Christmas set to come out this year it could be a very heated battle for Christmas #1(and most definitely for 'post-Christmas' #1) between the two Christmas classics. It seems very possible that one (or even both) of these songs could finally become a #1 single but if you had to pick just one which would you prefer to come out on top?
I suspect Mariah will win this poll but for me it has to be Wham!  (55,555th post!!) |

 It's awful, absolutely abysmal, and NOT EVEN A CHRISTMAS SONG!! Mariah will be #1. It is by far the bigger song.

Both good in small doses, but wayyyyy too overplayed, Wham I'd say as it's slightly less inescapable and has some lovely production. Having said that, it would be pretty lovely to see Mariah at number 1 this year.

I'm not overly fond of either and would choose nearly any of the other Xmas staples over both but I'm going to probably surprise people and say I'd rather see Mariah get the #1. x
Obviously The Pogues way above both of them, I am sad that Wham! have overtaken them as the 2nd most popular Xmas song. |

I like both but slightly prefer wham
but it's crazy how many great xmas tracks have missed the xmas #1 (Mariah, Wham, Pogues)... while the list of Xmas #1s is beyond bad |
