Johnson won in having the most soundbites in what the public want to hear and in deflecting any question back to the B word.
Corbyn won in actually trying to hold Johnson to account. Does anyone know what the TV audience figure was for the debate? 6.7m, peak of 7.3m |

I haven't been Corbyn's greatest fan in recent times, but he really does come alive when he's on the campaign trail and during debates!
Like has been pointed out, all Boris can do is communicate in soundbites, shoehorn in whatever words he found flicking through the dictionary that day, dodge a question by bringing it back to Brexit and even get caught out blatantly lying (which comes so naturally to him he doesn't even realise he's doing it). Corbyn trounced him here, but that's obvious because he's much more skilled than Boris as a communicator. This post has been edited by Tawdry Hepburn: Nov 20 2019, 11:39 AM |

Corbyn wasn't 100% but was respectful, prepared, presented solidly and connected with viewers - presenting 101.
Johnson faffed and fumbled his way through his speeches with odd delivery pausing every other word, very strange cadence. He got an audience member's name wrong, on multiple occasions talked beyond his allotted time, and had no facts and figures to back up his statements, as well as telling at least one outright lie (40 hospitals - which he backtracked on when pressed). For that reason, Corbyn. If I was a teacher marking my kids doing the same task, only Corbyn actually achieved the parameters of the task set. |
