FIRST AND FOREMOST FOR MOI.
Would have been an amazing choice for the third single from 'Circus'. Just in time for Spring. I imagine a grease themed video and radio slayage. |

01. WHERE ARE YOU NOW
This needed to be the big ballad hit from the Oops!... I Did It Again era. While I really love Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know, I think Where Are You Now is the strongest ballad on the Oops!... I Did It Again album and one of Britney's strongest ballads ever recorded. I believe the only reason Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know was the chosen song to be released was its link to Shania Twain, who co-wrote it, being one of the biggest musicians on the planet at that moment. That story would repeat itself a year later, when I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman, co-written by huge British female Dido, was released in 2002. 02. AMNESIA The perfect pop record and very different for Britney at the time, this could've cemented her into an even higher level of iconicness in 2009. Whilst Britney was definitely having an ideal comeback to pop superstardom, I will always feel that the single choices after Circus -the single- weren't the best ones. If U Seek Amy's controversy didn't appear to be enough to become one of her iconic/trademark hits and is usually forgotten from her back catalogue, and Radar became sort of a joke among the fanbase after being released and used almost everywhere. 03. HOW I ROLL One of the best songs ever recorded by Britney, I think How I Roll would've been a right move after the perfect first 3 singles from Femme Fatale were released. With its corky, fun pop production and funky vocals, this song would've definitely been a game-changer in 2011. 04. UP 'N' DOWN The Femme Fatale album really had many potential hits on it, this particularly being a bonus track, but always considered on a higher level, especially when it was part of the Femme Fatale Tour's setlist. This song has a production that reminds me of the 90's for some reason, and since the trend of 90's dance has become hip again, Britney'd have been a trendsetter in 2011/2012. 05. HE ABOUT TO LOSE ME One of the best mid-tempos Britney's ever recorded, He About To Lose Me has beautiful vocals and a catchy guitar riff through the chorus. Unescapable! In spite of 'only' being a bonus track on the Femme Fatale album, He About To Lose Me was included on the tour's setlist for some time, and it's also one of Britney's favourite songs from the album. 'Amnesia' is a very big one. Could have been released instead of flogging 'Radar' again
My main one is 'Breathe On Me' though. JUST IMAGINE THE VIDEO !! |

I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY BREATHE ON ME WASN'T A SINGLE !?!?? From what I gather it was intended to be a single following 'Outrageous', with '(I Got That) Boom Boom' also intended for release (they were going for a long campaign I guess). But once the 'Outrageous' incident happened the era had to be pulled quickly, and the Greatest Hits happened instead. Mind you, I'm not sure on that, but I read it that one time. |

'Breathe On Me' was to be the next release internationally and 'Boom Boom' for America. With the releases flipping for fifth. |

Gosh so it really WAS a big missed opportunity as it nearly happened i suppose it remains an album gem now and hugely appreciated for that reason.

My full top 5:
1. Amnesia 2. And Then We Kiss (this shit is timeless and contests yet again, that 'Original Doll' would have been spectacular. 'Break The Ice' was originally for the project as well) 3. Inside Out (criminal was a waste that would have done great if Europe was still invested in the era, was TAILORED for American radio at the time) 4. Breathe On Me (Could have been added to Britney's most iconic singles, and following the success of 'Everytime' it would have easily been a top 3 hit for her in the UK and quite possibly number one with a good video) 5. Alien (Should have followed up 'Work Bitch', it's the best thing to come from that album after the lead single) ALSO: Baby One More Time: Thinkin' About You / I Will Be There Oops: Can't Make You Love Me/ Where Are You Now Britney: Lonely / Cinderella / Before The Goodbye In The Zone : Boom Boom (America says yas) Blackout : Hot As Ice / Toy Soldier Circus: Shattered Glass / Quicksand / Trouble / Phonography Femme Fatale: How I Roll / Up N Down Britney Jean: Till Its Gone / Bodyache THREE EXTRA CHEERS FOR CINDERELLA BTW. |

And Then We Kiss would've done wonders in Europe at the time. I don't think it'd have done much in the USA's state of music back in 2005, though. Superb song and actually one of her best ever, nonetheless.

I forgot Breathe On Me. That was an obvious choice too. As for Original Doll, its a shame it never really got its time to shine, I loved Mona Lisa.
