Does anybody have one? I'm contemplating on getting one but I don't want to waste money if it turns out to be crap.

If u have one then how do they fit? I see there's a 38mm and 42mm one. unsure.gif

I have the 42mm watch. I've had it for 18 months now and I love it. I work in an environment where it can be important to 'look the part' so it does me nicely as a stylish little watch. I quite like the activity tracking and the Nike+ stuff works well on it. I use it a lot when I'm driving to have a quick glance at a notification in case it's a travel alert or an important message that I need to (legally) respond to.

It's not a waste of money if you go in knowing exactly what you're getting. It's a watch that does what fit bit does, but without sleep tracking or stairs climbed, is now waterproof and gives you notifications. If you go in expecting it to be all singing all dancing you'll be disappointed.

I wear mine almost every day. I don't tend to wear it if I don't leave the house but that has more to do with me not needing to know the time if I'm having a lazy Saturday than the watch itself.

Oh so you have the Nike version? Guessing you'd recommend one then biggrin.gif just trying to find the cheapest 42mm one atm.

Let me know what you find out and if you do get one.

I don't own one, and am not desperate for one either.

I feel like I can by rather clumsy and I'd likely unintentionally knock it against a wall or something. huh.gif

No I don't, I've the normal Series 1 watch. The Nike+ stuff you get on it works well. Not sure if the new one has extra features on it with the Nike+ edition or just a pretty band.

Try on both size watches, you'll know which one is right for you by looking how they fit on your wrist. If you're a fairly slight frame then 38 might suit you more.

you can get a fake one from ebay for a tenner tbh

I have personally never got the idea of Apple watches. I have a phone that tells time too. No need for one.

That's my attitude at the moment laugh.gif I'm sure there will come a time when an Apple watch offers enough to tempt me, but that hasn't happened yet.

They're cool I guess but they don't fit my needs especially at the asking price laugh.gif the unbranded ones are like £10-£20 if I ever change my mind and want to spice up my wrist tech tongue.gif

So I caved and bought one today. Didn’t want to pay full price so I went to CeX and got one for £160 including the strap.

It’s £100 cheaper than what it was in Argos and it looks brand new ohmy.gif

Excited to see how this works

I got one for £10 that does pretty much what the official one does laugh.gif will let you know if it's any good when it arrives

and GOD the official prices, some are even worth just as much as an iPhone! drama.gif

the watch and strap but they're not made by Apple http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Model-2017-GT08-Bluetooth-Smart-Watch-Phone-Wrist-watch-for-Android-and-iOS/122604109379?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Yeah £50 says that either never works, or certainly doesn't work more than a week

Posted by: cqmerqn 30th September 2017, 10:25 PM

True

Silas what apps do you have on your watch? I’m a bit disappointed that there’s no Twitter or WhatsApp. Those are apps I use very often.

Trying to find games but there’s literally like 6 on the App Store?

Posted by: 5 Silas Frøkner 30th September 2017, 11:00 PM

I don’t have many apps tbh. Mostly the airline companion apps and instagram. Boarding a flight with a watch is a novel feeling!!!

Anyone know if 3rd party Apple Watch straps are safe?

Posted by: lot🎈IT🎈a 2nd October 2017, 09:54 PM

can't say personally but just check reviews etc carefully!!

Posted by: Diane12 4th October 2017, 07:33 AM

I'd buy it from Apple's website or an Apple store if I were you. I mean I'm sure the strap and Watch are a bit overpriced (It is Apple after all) but buying a watch or strap for £10? There's no way, absolutely none, that it'll be able to compete with an original Apple product.

Absolutely loving my watch! Using it mostly for fitness. It’s very handy to see how many steps I’ve done through out the day. It’s helping me out a lot! Also love that I can ask it questions. Never knew Apple Watch was capable of Siri.

I bought the series 3 watch last Friday and I'm really loving it. It's very handy to check notifications at work when im not allowed to have my phone and I love that it motivates you to reach your activity goals (move/exercise/stand), also very cool how its waterproof so I can shower with it on

I don't think Apple watch is necessary either. All you need is already there in the iPhone and Macbook.
