'Chasing Shadows' is a new 4 part drama series starting on Thursday, September 4th on ITV. It 'focuses on the work of a missing persons field unit charged with tracking down serial killers who prey on impressionable and vulnerable people.' The lead roles are played by Reece Sheersmith, Alex Kingston and Noel Clarke.

Looking forward to this actually! It looks quite dark but seems to be being hyped by ITV and I like the three leads so it should be good.

I'm going to give this a go hope it's as good as the trailers suggest!

Then next week we've got Scott and Bailey back, so much good drama on the TV this month smile.gif

Quite looking forward to this. First one deals with a missing girl and a suspicious suicide website.

I'll be watching, can get behind a good crime drama.

(and that was decided before i saw that Elliott Tittensor features in an episode)

Will be watching!

The first episode was OK. The DS Stone character seemed to be rather like Saga Noren (The Bridge) but with more emphasis on the comedic side of the character.

As much as I enjoyed the first episode, it very much felt like ITV trying to cash-in on the success of Sherlock. The male lead (so unbelievable as a character, I can't even remember his name) was literally acted as if he learnt from watching videos of Benedict Cumberbatch. I'll keep watching for Alex Kingston/Noel Clarke (and because the initial story does intrigue me) but it's such a cheap effort.

Yeh, I know exactly what you mean. It was slightly grating to see the similarites but if that was took away, it was an alright start. Nothing special which makes it stand out at the moment but I'm sticking with it. I liked the ending and I think next week's will be better as there will be more suspence as it gets more involved in the investigation

Enjoyed this. It's a 4 part series but this story concludes this week and then there's another 2 parter

I wish there were more episodes in the series as I really enjoyed this, felt like a Doctor Who reunion with Noel Clarke, Alex Kingston and some others in the episode

Hope this keeps getting better!

A much better second episode, I thought. I'm not sure who I expected 'Leanne' to be but I liked that the twist included one of the other missing girls. DS Stone came across a lot more likeable, especially during his scene with Adele who is fantastic in her role. I'm looking forward to the next two-parter, beginning tonight!

I agree, it was a nice conclusion and didn't see that twist coming. I'm still not enjoying it as much as I thought I would but I'll see if the next story may change that.

Yeah I enjoyed the last episode and I agree with every comment so far! Loved the twist though I'd guessed the first killer before the reveal, it's usually always one of the famous featured actors (watch the opening credits tonight laugh.gif )

I think the series could have done with another 2 episodes just to allow it more time to establish itself and the characters but I'm looking forward to tonight!!

Hope we get a second series

This new two parter is even better than the last one. Very good. Not sure if it's the writer who's been visiting him and whether the psychiatrist is involved as maybe someone gave him a drug to induce the heart attacki.

Just finished binge-watching this. Please tell me it's coming back? Okay, it's not AMAZING, but the characters are really likeable and it has real potential.
