QUOTE(Severin @ Aug 5 2019, 04:49 PM) *

Personally, I'd drop Bottas and give Ocon the seat.

Bottas is good on his day and can often qualify well but he's far too inconsistent on race day and that makes it hard to rely on him. Hamilton may be questionable when under pressure but Bottas is practically absent. There's nothing to lose by giving Ocon a go.

absolutely

ocon needs a break and it's such a shame to no have him on the track

Mexico will remain on the Formula 1 calendar for three more years after a deal was agreed to expand the schedule to a record 22 races next season.

The race will change its name to the Mexico City Grand Prix from 2020.

It appears Barcelona stays and Germany is off the calendar.

Ridiculous decision.

Much like the UN security council and Eurovision there should be five permanent, untouchable races on the calendar, that the FIA should assure have the funds to operate. Due to their importance to the sport in terms of its creation, popularity, legacy and image/reputation those 5 should be -

France
Germany
Italy
Great Britain
Monaco

Yes, they're all in Europe but that is because those 5 nations have contributed more to the creation of what we now call Formula One than any others. With the exception of Monaco the circuits don't HAVE to be the existing ones (although realistically right now they do). And I know Monaco is often a bore but it's still the most famous Grand Prix of them all.

The 2nd tier that should be protected at all costs are

Belgium
Japan
Canada
Brazil
Australia (if only we could use Bathurst)

The rest can be anywhere you like but I would like to see an African race to take the championship to every continent (Antarctica might be pushing it!)

Pierre Gasly has dropped by Red Bull and they promoted Alexander Albon. Gasly will move back to Toro Rosso. Well it isn't really a surprise there.

I thought it may be Kvyat out of the two to get a second bite of the Red Bull cherry. I 'm intrigued to see how Albon does in the Red Bull. If he can get a podium in one of the
last nine races that would be great. Potentially then three in contention for the second Red Bull seat next year? I just hope it hasn't come too soon for Albon.
