Gone for all of the remakes in the first polls apart from Beauty and the Beast (the animated film is just perfect really and I wasn't so keen on the singing in the newer version).
My overall favourite live-action remakes is The Jungle Book, the visual effects just had me flawed. 1 The Jungle Book (2016) 2 Beauty and the Beast (2015) 3 Maleficent (2014) 4 Alice in Wonderland (2010) 5 Cinderella (2015) - pretty dull tbh --- (6 Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)) - bad.. |

All the originals are the best for me, except Cinderella because of Richard

I prefer all of the originals too.
'Maleficent' could've been incredible but there was something missing for me. 'Sleeping Beauty' has always been one of my favourites so it would've been hard to beat anyway. I couldn't stand the live-action Cinderella, definitely the worst of the remakes 😷 The Jungle Book and Maleficent were my two favourite remakes, can't WAIT for the Lion King one, just hope they don't mess it up. |

I chose the original for almost everything (hedges my bets with Cinderella cow I haven't seen the new one) but I did pick Maleficent over Sleeping Beauty because it wasn't just a straight copy and was more interesting.

The originals are all vastly superior in pretty much every way.
I don't like The Jungle Book in either form, but at least the original didn't make me feel NAUSEOUS for most of the run time. The only reworked version I had any desire to rewatch after the fact was Maleficent because it's more of a standalone movie/spin off rather than a directly soulless remake like the others. Beauty And The Beast is quite good and I really liked Emma in it, but the problem for me is most of the big songs (especially Be Our Guest and Emma T's disgusting take on the title track) just fell utterly flat. Plus Dan looked better as the beast, seriously that wig was Razzie worthy. Cinderella is fine as a straight remake and obviously Cate was masterful, but you just cannot beat the sheer EVIL in the eyes of Lady Tremaine in the original. The visuals of Alice are stunning and it was a pretty close run thing, but I just prefer the whimsy of the original which got stifled somewhat in the remake. |

Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Alice in Wonderland (1951) The Jungle Book (2016) Cinderella (1950) Sleeping Beauty (1959) FAVE (in order) Beauty and the Beast (2017) The Jungle Book (2016) Alice in Wonderland (2010) Maleficent (2014) Cinderella (2015) I like a mixture of both really and I love the beauty and the beast remake, one of my favourite recent films |
