It turned out to be a fake oops. I knew by track 3 there was something wrong because it was so ridiculously tame in comparison to their earlier stuff. all that hype for nothing :'(

this has actually leaked now but everything i've encountered so far has been a shitty vinyl rip that some weirdo put up for sale on a fake bandcamp page~ will be waiting for the official release in a couple of days~

I like Animal Collective best when they’re coming out with real works of expression and art, experimenting with intricate rhythmical structure consistently throughout. This does in places but kinda doesn’t the rest of the way. I understand the direction they’re aiming for and I understand the distance they’re putting between this and ‘Centipede Hz’ but it’s lacking in too many places to be anything other than an ‘alright’ record for me.
