BuzzJack Music Forum _ Indie, Rock and Alternative _ Lana Del Rey - Norman F*cking Rockwell!

Posted by: UltraReputation 25th February 2018, 02:15 AM

Let's get this started as the queen of quickly releasing albums is supposedly starting to record album 5 *.*

Lana has been confirmed to be working with Jack Antonoff and is rumoured to be working with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala after following him on twitter and there's also rumours that either an album or ep will come out this year!

I'm not ready. <3

Posted by: Bjork 25th February 2018, 07:52 AM

But will get the Madonna cover (You must love me) first, right?

I think the album which is it featured on is out next month

didin't know where to put this

Lana Del Rey, Andrew Lloyd Webber - You Must Love Me

Posted by: UltraReputation 29th March 2018, 11:11 PM

She's just posted a snippet of a new song (Happiness Is A Butterfly) on social media and it sounds so good! I'd love it and be so shook if she drops this in full tonight <3 (Or maybe it could be on that Weeknd EP considering how much they've collaborated in the past?)

Posted by: Bjork 30th March 2018, 01:35 PM

happiness is a butterfly is really cute <3

Posted by: UltraReputation 18th September 2018, 04:39 PM

Title supposedly confirmed as Norman Rockwell and will feature Mariners apartment complex and Venice Bitch, Lana said on R1 it's coming at the top of 2019 or something like that

Posted by: UltraReputation 18th September 2018, 04:54 PM

11 songs atm, maybe one song coming out in October

Posted by: John-James 18th September 2018, 04:56 PM

Already iconic

Posted by: Jordan Lee 18th September 2018, 07:01 PM

What an Intriguing title. Always love Lanas albums so it’ll definitely be something I’ll look forward too yahoo.gif

Posted by: Bjork 18th September 2018, 07:15 PM

ohhh is it a reference to this guy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Rockwell

Posted by: Venice Botch 18th September 2018, 09:41 PM

Only she would release a 10 minute song as lead single with an album title like that

Posted by: SKOB 22nd September 2018, 06:30 AM

Venice Bitch and Mariners are both SO GOOD!!!

Posted by: Bré 22nd September 2018, 07:39 AM

I really like 'Mariners Apartment Complex', 'Venice Bitch' I'm not so sure on as the lyrics are a little cringeworthy but I think it gets better as it goes along, I like the instrumental parts a lot ~ Interesting to see her going in a more folk-y direction this era so far.

Posted by: Bjork 22nd September 2018, 09:10 AM

it's just the continuation of the 2nd part of Lust for Life

I agree some of the lyrics are not her best, I can't at the ice cream/ice queen rhyme

Posted by: Mariner's Crotch 22nd September 2018, 09:26 AM

Only Mariner's is great.

Venice is ok to have on in the background, but does not stack up against Mariner's, which easily fits in among the Born to Die songs.

Posted by: Conderella 22nd September 2018, 05:58 PM

Yeah we haven't heard your opinion about Venice bitch yet Michael. Isn't it just WONDERFUL?

Posted by: Joe. 24th September 2018, 01:10 PM

Both are great, and honestly it's so refreshing to see her working with Jack, Mariners especially is lyrically a discography highlight and I'm glad that's being picked up on by critics too. Each of her projects seems to end up being more critically acclaimed than the last.

Posted by: Bjork 24th September 2018, 02:48 PM

Much prefer Rick Nowels to Jack

Posted by: Bjork 7th November 2018, 09:21 AM

love it too, my fav so far

Hope Is A Dangerous Thing For A Woman Like Me To Have - But I Have It is out next Wednesday! *.* so ready <3

Posted by: Bjork 2nd January 2019, 07:02 AM

love the title <3 cannot wait

I read this is the track previously known as Sylvia that she previewed a while ago bout Sylvia Plath

Posted by: Bjork 2nd January 2019, 07:03 AM

for what I read on the board, the album is 100% done

Posted by: UltraReputation 4th January 2019, 01:52 AM

Lana has deleted the snippet/announcement post of HIADTFAWLMTHBIHI on instagram and the snippet for in your car (?) is back up on insta after previously being deleted.

I hope she releases in your car as I much preferred the snippet for that song 😍

Posted by: Botchia 8th January 2019, 08:59 PM

Love it! Those lyrics!!!! AMAZING! Best so far this era

Posted by: John-James 9th January 2019, 05:07 PM

Love the new song! I hope she releases Cinnamon before the album though, we need a song that actually stands a chance of getting airplay

Posted by: Bjork 9th January 2019, 05:27 PM

for what I understand, all these are buzz tracks,
the proper lead single is coming soon

Posted by: Ashley 10th January 2019, 01:53 PM

I'm sorry, but these lyrics are awful:

Hello, it's the most famous woman you know on the iPad
Calling from beyond the grave, I just wanna say, "Hi, Dad"

The whole song feels very self indulgent.

From the OCC:

QUOTE
The hit singles that never made it onto an album
OK, so the original version of Summertime Sadness was indeed featured on that huge breakthrough debut album Born to Die, but the beefed-up, very very different version remixed by Cedric Gervais has, so far, not been anywhere on the album. Lana's at it again now, too, ahead of the release of her sixth album Norman F*cking Rockwell – a trio of songs, starting with Mariners Apartment Complex, have been called "fan tracks" which means they're here to fill the gap before the album but will not, apparently, feature on it.

EXCUSE ME?!

Posted by: mdh 21st January 2019, 05:14 PM

So much for her having a critically acclaimed album, then sad.gif

Posted by: UltraReputation 21st January 2019, 06:05 PM

I've seen that MAC/VB weren't gonna be on the album but I thought HIADTFAWLMTHBIHI was a buzz track for the album from the rumours, but then again this is Lana so the tracklist could change until the day it's released x

Posted by: Parallel Reality 21st January 2019, 06:34 PM

Mariners Apartment Complex is one of my favourite things she’s ever put out. Will be a shame if it’s not on an album!

Agreed! It's the first single from Lana in a long time that really grabbed my attention. 'Venice Bitch' is lovely too so this album was shaping up to be really strong. I hope the OCC have got ahead of themselves and misinterpreted what was meant by "fan tracks". Perhaps "fan tracks" just means they're teasers of the album ahead of the lead single. God I miss when album eras were clearly planned and anything released from an album was a proper single.

Posted by: dannjohn 21st January 2019, 09:34 PM

VB is literally her best song. It needs to be on the album.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 30th March 2019, 01:41 AM

This is beginning to look like a Rihanna ANTI situation of the pre album release situation.

So the next track she releases will be the official lead I presume?

Posted by: Parallel Reality 30th March 2019, 06:37 AM

Why do album campaigns start getting super messy when artists get onto album 4/5/6? sad.gif

Posted by: Bjork 30th March 2019, 06:46 AM

it's all cos of Spotify which allows artists to release whatever they want whenever they want, so artists start putting up songs even when the album is not finished, see what sticks...
it's the same with most artists, look at Billie eilish, in between singles she also released Come out to play and When Was older, and none are on the album

Posted by: dannjohn 30th March 2019, 07:55 AM

But thats if their interested in having a hit. Lana doesnt strike me as that kinda artist

Posted by: Bjork 30th March 2019, 08:41 AM

not really related to having a hit, people are dropping random songs all the time

Posted by: Conanderella 30th March 2019, 09:18 PM

i don't get the problem with artists dropping random songs and seeing what sticks and whatnot. This is not an exact science and they don't owe shit to anyone. maybe she scrapped the original idea and had to start over at some point? who knows.

to use the album title as inspiration - have f***ing patience~

Billie's not the best example. come out and play was used on an advert, that's why it got released - I assume it otherwise wouldn't have. WHEN I WAS OLDER is for a soundtrack. It wasn't a case of throwing anything out there and seeing what sticks.

No release date yet, but it's coming soon. It's a cover of Sublime's 1997 single of the same title.

pretty sure they've changed it a bit but Best American Record was supposed to be the lead single for Lust for Life
they even made the video, everything was ready to go
but then the song leaked
and Lana got a tantrum and cancelled it all off and the song never made it to LFL and even the video was recycled for White Mustang

so it's kinda amazing the song is finally included in here

I'm actually raging with Buzzjack. RAGE>,< FUMING >,<

Y'all made me worry that her best songs since Born to Die wouldn't be on the album. I thought that was REALLY STRANGE, but whatever. I was worried I wouldn't even like the album. I was so excited to get it before then. So, imagine my surprise when the cover came out. The first thing I did was check the tracklisting. Venice Beach, Hope Is A Dangerous Thing AND Mariner's Apartment Complex all right there!! LIARS!!!

RAGING!! GOT ME WORRIED FOR NOWT.

I'll have to skip Doin' Time every time, but whatever. Almost every album has a stinker!

I'm guessing a new single (f*** It) should be imminent?

Posted by: Algernon Monqueef 4th August 2019, 11:08 AM

ALL THE POSTS ON PAGE TWO WERE LIES AND THE OCC SUCK!!

Her best ever songs, since Born to Die and Ride, will be on the labum, making this album easily the best of the year! At least! Assuming the rest is up to that same quality, it will even be better than any last year, including Florence!

Posted by: Bjork 4th August 2019, 11:24 AM

don't exaggerate, nobody knew at the time

the snippets she's posted on IG are very good

Posted by: Bjork 4th August 2019, 11:29 AM

and the 2 she's making videos for, f*** it and The Greatest

Posted by: dandy* 4th August 2019, 11:37 AM

The Greatest? ohmy.gif Is that an original or a Cat Power cover do we know?

Posted by: Bjork 4th August 2019, 12:07 PM

we don't know
at first I thought it was sure gonna be a Cat Power cover cos she's super friends of Cat Power, she did backing vocals on Cat Powers last album Wanderer on that song Woman...
but I doubt Lana would put 2 covers in an album, Doin' Time is already a cover...

plus Jack said that The Greatest was the best song on the album, doubt he would say that about a cover...

so Im inclined to think its an original

Thrilled about 'Doin' Time' being added to the radio 1 playlist too wub.gif that and 'Mariners Apartment Complex' have been real gems from this era for me so far. It's a shame that she hasn't had a top 40 hit since 'Lust For Life' but at least she's a reliable album seller.

Mariner's is my favourite from her since Born To Die and Video Games no joke, and the rest are all RIGHT AFTER IT!! This is my fave era, along wih BTw, from her yet, AND it's made me discover Ultraviolence. Loving it! I also looove the sound of NR the song, but Doin Time doesn't fo it for me AT ALL!! The greatest is a lovely track, not so immediately keen on the other one but still liking the vast majority of what we've heard so far.

Am I the only one who thought 'Fuck It I Love You' was the much better of these 2? 'The Greatest' is nice and all but it's not standing out much to me, probably the weakest song she's dropped this era for me so I'm not sure what I'm missing!

I did seem to be in a minority preferring 'Looking For America' out of the 2 non-album singles she dropped the other week as well (in fact I like that song more than any of the singles from NFR probably oops) so maybe I'm just a contrarian xx

I know Pitchfork are known for being a little too pretentious, and very male-leaning, with the critically acclaimed albums (It's something like 5 albums by female artists to have gotten over 8.5, whereas it's about 100 for male?, but I can't remember the exact stat). So I always feel a little iffy about accepting validation from them in terms of their approval. But they are seen are the holy grail of music critics by many...

Anyway, this is being predicted to be Lana's highest scorer with them, and possibly her first to gain a 8.0+, it's her first album to have already received two "Best New Tracks" from them, in the shape of 'Venice Bitch' and 'The Greatest'. (The only two songs of hers ever to have gotten this are 'Love' and 'Video Games'). So I'm verrrry interested to see how they score her, regardless of how meaningless it is in the grand scheme of things, Lust For Life certainly deserved a higher score in my opinion.

She has gained with every album with them;

Born to Die - 5.5
Ultraviolence - 7.1
Honeymoon - 7.5
Lust for Life - 7.7

Posted by: Atonement 29th August 2019, 09:17 AM

I must admit I'm not as crazy about the album as I thought I would be based on the songs that were already released.

For now I would rank the albums as follows: Lust for Life > Ultraviolence > Honeymoon > NFR > Born to Die > Paradise

Posted by: 365 29th August 2019, 02:38 PM

I'm had a quick peep of the album, I'm waiting until tomorrow before listening again but I just wanted to say that 'Cinnamon Girl' STUNNING.

Posted by: dandy* 29th August 2019, 02:42 PM

Cinnamon Girl was the preview that I was drawn to the most when the snippets were out so glad it's got a favourable mention

Posted by: Jordan Lee 30th August 2019, 01:31 AM

Ive just listened to the tracks I hadn’t yet heard but tomorrow at some point I’ll listen to it as a whole piece.

I can’t pick out much favourites yet as everything felt very equal and as good as one another.

I’ll say I think it flows very well as an album.

It’s a strong listen. Nice to get another featureless album as well after Lust For Life (as much I love it) had quite a few of them.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 30th August 2019, 01:34 AM

Just based off my friends reaction to it, I hope the title doesn’t put people off listening too it as a whole piece.

“The Next Best American Record” could’ve also worked. A very Lana like title.

Posted by: Cremey 30th August 2019, 07:44 AM

What an album 😭
Immediately one of my favourites of the year.

California and The Next Best American Record heart.gif

Posted by: dandy* 30th August 2019, 08:28 AM

Listening this morning and it’s great! I don’t think there’s anything I’m not liking and the whole aesthetic of the album is spot on.

Posted by: Bjork 30th August 2019, 09:13 AM

I'm travelling so cannot listen properly :/ really wanna sit down and listen to there whole thing in sequence in one take...

Just checking some of there newies randomly and all sound incredible, The Next Big American record will take some time adjusting to the new lyrics-...

I’m not surprised. I’m conscious of going way OTT through first day over excitement BUT I’m so tempted to say it’s her best and most cohesive work to date

Posted by: Cremey 30th August 2019, 12:04 PM

I’m inclined to say the same, this album feels like such a moment.
She just gets better and better.

Posted by: blacksquare 30th August 2019, 12:12 PM

This is fantastic and such an instant listen, which is surprising considering there is a ten-minute song here. Swooning a little.

'Cinnamon Girl' is so wonderful — that production.

#1 on Amazon <3

Posted by: John-James 30th August 2019, 01:15 PM

So what’s the chances of this going #1?

Posted by: Jordan Lee 30th August 2019, 02:09 PM

I have a feeling the sales of the top 4 will be fairly close.

TOOL may be ahead in the first update but Lana I think will be less front loaded of the two.

And then there’s Ed who’s streaming will be good and Taylor too who’s only on her second week but she has promo this week.

Posted by: 365 30th August 2019, 02:25 PM

Lana will get good streaming - Album is already #3 on Apple Music, with several songs top 200. Her vinyl is also #18 on Amazon. And her fans will mostly buy from her store as she has lots of special edition bundles.

Posted by: Bjork 30th August 2019, 02:48 PM

Her first ever 10/10 from NME, amazing write ups from Slant and Independent, one dodgy one from the guardian and this:

Posted by: Jordan Lee 31st August 2019, 12:21 AM

I think this is going to become one of Lanas albums I properly keep going back too.

To be fair I do all of them (except Honeymoon which for some reason just didn’t connect with me)

I think I also prefer this to Ultraviolence too as a whole album.

Posted by: 365 31st August 2019, 12:38 AM

UV, LFL and BTD hold such key places in my heart. Lyrically, it is her best 100%

Posted by: Cornelia Street 31st August 2019, 01:09 AM

Posted by: 365 31st August 2019, 10:13 AM

This is doing better than Lust For Life's first week, it sold 12.8k yesterday (no streaming data yet), which is the same as Lust For Life's Monday midweek total. I think it did roughly double LFL's first day. She's selling more than double Tool at #2.

Posted by: dandy* 31st August 2019, 10:31 AM

Excellent!!! I really want this to do well for her now I've heard it, seems to be getting deserved positive reviews almost everywhere wub.gif

#34 Norman f***ing Rockwell
#57 Doin' Time
#58 f*** It, I Love You
#70 Cinnamon Girl
#78 Mariners Apartment Complex
#82 Love Song
#95 Venice Bitch
#114 How to Disappear
#117 California
#128 The Greatest
#151 The Next Best American Record
#158 Happiness is a Butterfly
#194 Bartender

Lust for the Life the highest was
#82 Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (feat. Stevie Nicks)

Posted by: Jordan Lee 31st August 2019, 03:57 PM

This gets better and better with each listen for me.

I loved Lust For Life and that at the time was my favourite from her since her debut era but I feel this could take over.

I’m stunned at it!

Norman F*cking Rockwell, Love Song, Cinnamon Girl and The Next Best American Record are all absolutely stunning.

I was totally wrong about feeling the title might put people off it as well by those day one sales.

I tried my best not to listen to any leaks of it or any tracks what weren’t officially released before the album.

It’s her most cohesive album. I’m definitely getting a physical copy of this when I’m next in town but I’ll be streaming this like crazy. If I’ve already added it to my Apple library if I listen to it from there will it count as a stream or do I need to go into the Apple Music store and listen from there?

Got the blue vinyl version yesterday, which is gorgeous.
Just wish there was a photo as the inside artwork as well.
Glad it’s looking safe for a number 1 debut, so well deserved. Already feels like a modern classic.

I bought the Honeymoon vinyl today too which was long overdue. Gorgeous packaging.

Posted by: Conanderella 1st September 2019, 04:30 PM

This album is incredible from start to finish. All the singles now make total sense in the context of the album. I'm so disappointed I doubted her when Hope is a dangerous thing and Mariners Apartment Complex were released as they did nothing for me at the time.

Posted by: Klimawechsel 1st September 2019, 04:48 PM

This is suiting the end of summer so well! Think my stand outs from the new tracks are 'the greatest', which already sounds like a classic, and 'Cinnamon Girl'. Some of the pre-album songs are sounding at their best in the context of the album. Doin' Time and hope is a dangerous thing and even Venice Bitch has grown on me since! I can appreciate Doin' Time much more now I've taken the time to listen to the original. Glad that's starting to do bits in the UK.

I just love the fact that Lana is completely in her own lane in the 2019 music scene and just keeps getting better and better at doing her thing! I'm really liking that there are no features on this album as it doesn't draw the attention away from the tracks that are solo.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 1st September 2019, 05:51 PM

I just tried to buy this online at HMV and it was sold out.

Good sign perhaps as there must be demand for it?

Going to get this in store on Thursday though as I’m in my town centre then.

I think this is the album that gets me excited for her again after i've largely ignored her post-Paradise edition of BTD.

The way California's instrumental builds throughout it is genius. I think that's my early favourite!

Posted by: 365 1st September 2019, 06:37 PM

My early top 5 (on my 10372829th listen of the album) are:

1 The Greatest
2 Cinnamon Girl
3 Doin' Time
4 Norman f***ing Rockwell
5 f*** It, I Love You

California and Love Song fighting for 5th Spot though.

Definitely! It is by FAR her most consistent album since Born To Die.

Posted by: LMLou 1st September 2019, 09:01 PM

Yeah this is pretty amazing! I would’ve maybe liked one or two more upbeatish songs just so Doin Time didn’t seem too out of place but I think the album is a pretty perfect length
For me she’s neber disappointed apart from Honeymoon which I haven’t listened through after the first listen.

The Greatest, NBAR And Love Song are my current top 3

Posted by: 365 1st September 2019, 09:31 PM

I don't know where to place NFR yet, even though I can safely say lyrically it's her best.

Ultraviolence
Lust for Life
Born to Die
Honeymoon
Paradise

Is how I would rank the others, Paradise is last and houses my fav Lana song. Talent!

Posted by: Conanderella 2nd September 2019, 08:59 AM

This is album of the year so far for me. By far the best one of hers too.

Love Song is currently me chills. Those f***ing lyrics!

1. Venice Bitch
2. California
3. Cinnamon Girl
4. The Next Best American Record
5. Love Song

VB is slowly becoming my favourite song of Lana perdiodT! BTD is still holding the top spot tho

Posted by: Cremey 2nd September 2019, 11:11 AM

Taste! I think my top 3 are:
01 Venice Bitch
02 West Coast
03 Born to Die

Can’t get enough of this album. Current top 5:
01 Venice Bitch
02 The Greatest
03 hope...
04 The Next Best American Record
05 Love Song

Fantastic result! About 10K higher than I’d anticipated and in such a difficult sales climate too. She’s smashed it happy.gif

Posted by: Jordan Lee 7th September 2019, 01:39 AM

Yesss she sold way more than I imagined. I thought her pure sales would’ve been on the 12-13K mark and then streams maybe adding another 3K on top.

I didn’t think she’d get the number one that easily. Glad she’s had her highest opening since Ultraviolence and really hope the album gets some longevity behind it as that’s something her last 3 albums have all lacked. I’m not expecting a Born To Die like Million selling era but I hope the word of mouth promo that the albums good mixed with it being #1 encourages people to check it out.

Also wow at Lana being the female (alongside Taylor Swift) with the most UK number one albums this decade. That’s such a good quiz show like question on The Chase or Millionaire there’s not many people who’d think it was Lana especially outside of this forum.

Posted by: Bré 8th September 2019, 06:38 PM

I think this album could have some legs with the amount of acclaim it's had, it quite easily beating the opening sales of her last 2 albums is a great start.

Lana Del Rey’s Norman f**king Rockwell! debuts at No. 3 with 104,000 equivalent album units (with 66,000 of that sum in album sales). Norman tallies Del Rey her sixth top 10 effort. Her last album, 2017’s Lust for Life, opened at No. 1 with 107,000 units (with 80,000 of that in album sales).

Unlucky sad.gif If she released on a lower sales week, it woulda been a no.1 too.

DAMN YOU TOOL AND TAYLOR!!!!

Posted by: Bjork 10th September 2019, 02:37 PM

think Lana has more chances at the Grammys than the Brits...

Posted by: Jordan Lee 10th September 2019, 04:04 PM

I hope so

Well at the GRAMMYs there’s more awards she could be nominated for at the BRIts there’s just one as they got rid of some of the international ones.

It’d be great to see her win her first Grammy award though it’s been long overdue.

Also those opening sales she had in the US for this album we’re impressive. Pretty much the same combined total as the last album really. And good to see her get another top 3 debut.

Posted by: 365 10th September 2019, 10:21 PM

She's very likely to be nominated for album of the year for the first time at the Grammy's But is unlikely to win it. Hopefully she can snag a smaller award.

Posted by: Bjork 11th September 2019, 06:53 AM

why so unlikely? if there's universal critical acclaim + the label does a bit of lobbying, I don't see why not

We can hope. But I don't see it for her.

Posted by: blacksquare 11th September 2019, 12:19 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if a similar situation to Lorde and Janelle Monae happened. They didn't make it into the genre categories (somehow) but did get AOTY nominations. They were both too acclaimed to be ignored, and the three big categories (AOTY, SOTY, ROTY) have a committee that can veto or add anything.

Posted by: Cornelia Street 11th September 2019, 06:27 PM

I feel she'll get in (maybe via the blue ribbon thing that def helped Lorde deservedly get AOTY nom)

Honestly feel getting the nom is the challenge, can see her contending for the win if she gets the nom!

Posted by: Bjork 11th September 2019, 08:18 PM

so what album do you think will win album of the year at the Grammys? really cannot think of any other album this year that's got so many good reviews... I mean, Billie Eilish has arrived full force but her reviews have been kinda meh, same for new Taylor...

Posted by: Cornelia Street 11th September 2019, 08:50 PM

That's the thing, I feel if Lana gets the nom she can become the front runner and snatch the win! (A bit like Kacey last year, I wasn't sure she'd get the nom but I felt she'd have a great chance of winning once she got the nom)

Billie is probs my prediction rn, then lizzo then Lana. Tho I def have doubts about the first two winning (and Billie/Taylor's reviews are both really strong on the whole??)

My prediction rn is:
- Ariana
- Billie
- Gaga
- Lana
- Lizzo
- Taylor
- Tyler The Creator
- Vampire Weekend

(Solange & Maren just outside, was gonna put one in but I can't see the grammys having 7 female nominees sad.gif ). Also some random unknown will probs replace one of the pop girls knowing grammys)

This has finally reached #1 on Kworb’s Daily ITunes WorldWide chart! It was initially held off by Tool

OMG a true Stan posting in the colour of the limited edition vinyl *.*

Also TL;DR

Posted by: Juan Carlos 16th September 2019, 10:35 PM

It seems that "The Greatest" will be pushed as the next single from the album because the track was sent to Italian radio last Friday.

I’ve always been a casual listener of Lana but this album is absolutely fantastic.

GRAMMY nomination for Album Of The Year.

NFR (song) is also nominated for Record of the Year. Ecstatic for her

Posted by: Jordan Lee 20th November 2019, 02:58 PM

She’s well overdue a GRAMMY! But for her to win the biggest award of the night would be quite something.

Posted by: Bjork 20th November 2019, 03:15 PM

it's a matter of lobbying, it's not really about quality, especially this year with so many cheap albums and artists being nominated

we knew she was up for 2 Grammys, the figures leaked yesterday, but wasn't expecting Album of the year

Posted by: dandy* 20th November 2019, 03:40 PM

Frankly DESERVED

Posted by: LMLou 20th November 2019, 03:49 PM

Yas, if any of her albums deserved it - it's this one. Would love to see her win but even the acknowledgement is great

Posted by: John-James 20th November 2019, 04:06 PM

Legend!!

Posted by: blacksquare 20th November 2019, 04:31 PM

I do think she has a chance to win AOTY — a deserved win. The AOTY lists should help her.

Billie Eilish seems like the obvious choice but I doubt they'd go for a debut.

Posted by: Big Boobs Vjay! 20th November 2019, 05:01 PM

She deserves AOTY!!!! People in the GaGa forum actuslly thought GaGa stood a chamce against this masterpiece rotf.gif

Posted by: davidas 21st November 2019, 10:40 AM

Really hope she wins it... a total masterpiece over the other entries!

Posted by: pippa 3rd January 2020, 06:11 PM

Really pleased to see the album retain a Top 40 position for another week this week as it closes the week at Number 32.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 11th January 2020, 06:23 PM

Idk where else to post this but basically due to the success of this era Lana is nominated for International Female at The BRITs 2020.

She’s up against Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello and Lizzo.

Basically I think it’s a three horse race of her, Billie and Ariana. Just depends on who from the nominees performs but she stands a chance. Critics loved the NFR era and there’s been times artists have won who’ve had less commercials success than what Lana did last year. Would love her to do it.

Posted by: Bjork 11th January 2020, 06:49 PM

think Billie Eilish might win
but the Brits are weird with Int'l winners, if you go and perform, they give you the prize, so Lana do go smile.gif

Ariana won last year but it was Lorde before that 😀

I think Beyoncé May have won it fairly recently too. 2017 following Lemonade?

This re-entered the UK top 100 this week at #89.

It’s her second longest runner on the top 100 after Born to Die as well.

I think this is my favourite studio album from her now wub.gif
