I'm not 100% certain about this but I don't tend to notice UK stores doing "physical + download" bundles! US artist stores seem to do that though. Maybe there's a UK chart rule that restricts it.

In and Out of Love is the 31st song out of 84 in the new UK New Music Friday playlist on Spotify. happy.gif

It wasn't a bundle but Emma's My Happy Place could get 3 songs download from her store,
so I thought it was obvious. (and same time, I feel wasteful spending too much cool.gif )
thanks poor buddy Jay!

wub.gif (I've spent way too much lately! Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Troye Sivan, Kylie... wasn't the best timing for an expensive Melanie C format blush.gif drama.gif )

Just noticed that Blame It on Me - Acoustic has moved up to #3 in Melanie's popular songs list on Spotify, moving ahead of original Blame It on Me ohmy.gif

If only! I was pretty surprised to see it 10 places higher than McFly's new song though!

There's now 1,807, so it's not exactly selling fast... eek! Honestly I'm kind of surprised that it's not a particularly limited item... presumably it's a run of 2000 or more. I would have thought somewhere between 500 and 1000 would have been a safer bet for her to be able to sell out an expensive item like that.

Lol I'll keep an eye on the stock levels, if there's still loads left nearer to the time of release then I might consider cancelling.

24 hours later and it’s down to 1,796 hmm. Doesn’t seem like this one is going to sell like hot cakes.

I can't believe it only sold around 200 copies of the book edition. Only 200 fans around the world have bought it? It should be wrong, I bet more people would buy it. I didn't had any doubt about buying it or not, I bought it immediately. it's expensive, but it's a new album in almost 4 years... she deserves it.

Sorry but a £80 book, in a middle of a pandemic where most people are loosing their incomes on a daily rate? It's a bit of a wild ask, in my opinion. Like, I get why she would do that, but for an artist of her statue who doesnt have a really large audience, it will be a hard sell.

Im sure it will eventually sell out, and she will make a mint out of it, so I wouldnt really worry too much. Selling 200 in the space of a few days, for that price, is probably quite good. She aint no Ariana or Taylor Swift who have millions of fans who would jump at a chance to buy everything they can. We're talking of an average committed fanbase of like 50,000 across the world - it's not exactly going to be a case where everyone within that fanbase will buy it in a heartbeat, specially to those fans whom she and her solo work isn't a priority.

I bought it only because I got a new income stream confirmed this week (thankfully) but otherwise I wouldnt have done it. We have a massive recession about to hit us and I want to keep my savings intact so that I can prepare for that.

The only way I would go into my savings for unessential stuff like this, would be if the Spice Girls as a group released something or launched a new tour. Otherwise, Im keeping my money tightly in my savings account for now happy.gif

Again, I think she will eventually sell it out.

This. And I’m sure many fans will buy or stream the album like they did with VOM. It’s like she has a new vehicle to drive more sales. Let’s see what happens, I’m confident.

The thing Emma had over Mel C was it was her first album in 13 years. It felt a bit of an event and I'm sure a lot of us thought it might never happen so it got a lot of excitement and hype from all sides of the Spice fanbase.

I'm sure if this was Melanie's first album in 13 years it would feel a bigger deal and more special too.

Whilst I agree, I do think that there is much more momentum for this new Mel C album, overall, even within the fanbase. Bunton is my favourite solo, but My Happy Place would have made much better within the Spice fanbase and the general public if it wasnt a covers album with two originals. That really killed much buzz. The only reason I bought it was because it was Emma.

Emma has the backing of a strong record label, which is why promo was robust and she managed to get ok results. Had she been independent, I dont think she would have had much momentum.

This time, it is different with Mel C. She has much better support from the general public and press this time, which makes us feel confident that she might do well. I think she might be able to shift good numbers (for a solo Spice) this time, probably the best in her career for a decade. That doesnt mean it will sell bucketloads, but she might shift over 20k in the UK in the long run...

And lets be honest - if she has record label support like Emma, she would make much better numbers!

You can see stock levels for all items?

For the book item: if you add it to your cart & change the number to 2000, it then changes that number to show how many are in stock! There’s 1,795 now. The only thing that isn’t clear is how many there were in the first place.

This method doesn’t work for the other items though. For instance it let me add 100,000 violet vinyl to the basket laugh.gif

Given how few are selling now I think it is safe to assume it was limited to 2,000 copies.

Have you seen that if you add to the cart the bundle of 3xLP book + deluxe cd, you can add 2000 or more? It's weird

Kinda OT, even if it’s still related to charts, IAOOL is currently in two of Spotify’s playlists: the Friday one and the New Dance a Revolution as their 13th song.

What? If you buy multiple copies in one transaction it’s one sale?? What about the bundles are they counted as one sale? Surely not?
