It may not be back until next year but we got our first bit of news (yes Chibnall has actually revealed some information) today.
For all those wanting returning monsters, rejoice as the Of all the returning monsters tho Let’s just hope it’s a guest spot like in the Stolen Earth |

The Judoon aren’t really bad guys though, are they?

Their zero-exceptions approach to justice does just about tip the scales into the "bad" category, as their debut episode can attest to. But unless they’ve left law enforcement and gone rogue, there’s little more threat that they offer without repeating storylines. |

Maybe the mohawks suggest it's a different type of Judoon?

They're not the first returning monster I'd have expected, but I was SO excited when I saw the photo! Can't wait to see what the story will be like this time.
I don't really think they can fall into the 'repeated storylines' category because each time they've appeared there's always been a lot of emphasis on the villain they're trying to capture/imprison too - both Florence in DW and the Androvax in SJA were pretty well fleshed out with their own unique stories. |

Bumping this as we're starting to hear more about some of the guest cast for the series!
Anjli Mohindra (Rani in The Sarah Jane Adventures) and James Buckley (The Inbetweeners) are both confirmed to be guest starring. Also, Maxim Baldry (Viktor in Years & Years) will apparently be in 'a few episodes' too according to CultBox/online CV - intriguing! |

Hoping she actually plays her Sarah Jane character because that could be very interesting

Jodie was announced as the Doctor 2 years ago today - certainly doesn't feel like that long!

The Daily Star are reporting that The Master will return - apparently to be played by a male actor.

Can we please use spoiler tags, even for rumours? I'd rather know as little as possible going into the new series...!

Can we not? That's kind of the point of Doctor Who - you think the villain's gone for good, and suddenly they turn up again, badder than ever. Having said that, I'm not convinced that Chibnall can do justice to the character of The Master - John Simm & Michelle Gomez were both fantastic as The Master/Missy, and given how much of a damp squib bringing back the Daleks was in his run, I'm not sure that they'll make a good job of another iconic villain. As to who they'd cast in the role, it'll probably be someone like Patterson Joseph, the kind of actor that's been in a few things that you'd recognise, without being a household name. *Edited for Sailor Steve* |

I do think the Master needs a MUCH longer break than just one series. Fair enough if Chibnall thinks there's a story there to tell, but at this point it's just going to be a bit fatiguing. If he's going to be bringing back iconic villains I'd much rather he went out of the box a bit and did something RTD and Moffat didn't do, like the Axons, the Sea Devils, etc.
On the other hand, there has been speculation that the Cybermen will be returning in series 12 in a story about Mary Shelley / her inspiration for Frankenstein. That could be very interesting and creepy I think. Or a complete misfire like The Next Doctor. |

GallifreyBase user (with a good rumor track record) has reported Chibnall has left with "Chibnall has already gone, it's chaos in Cardiff" and Pete McTighe (writer of Kerblam!) is taking over temporarily.
A DW comics writer, with links to the production team has said QUOTE I believe he’s gone and the show is basically f***ed! None of it’s a surprise As I understand it he didn’t walk he was pushed They had to stand down production last month because there were no scripts to shoot I don't think his heart was in it from the start, but it certainly wasn't in it past the first couple of blocks. They have a load of reshoots to do and two more specials to film (this christmas and next, i believe) before October...they won’t get it done at this rate And now it's been said there will be some sort of announcement at 14:30, so we'll know if it's true fairly soon. |

Chibnall hasn’t been great to be honest. I really wanted to like the last series but by the time we got halfway through, I was bored to tears.
I just want fun adventures again, villains that are just evil not misunderstood and the series to be linked up with a mystery running throughout. |

The last season was so so boring. We needed an exciting one for the first female doctor. Jodie won't stay long, and so we needed a good season to make people want other females in the future. This failure might make people not want another one

From what I've seen in the fanbase - people like Jodie, but not Chibnall which is good.
And at least (if this is true) it's the writer of Kerblam taking over for now, easily the best episode of series 11. |
