QUOTE Neil Claxton @MintRoyale 1h1 hour ago But there are 25 new entries in the album top 40 (Q4 bonanza) so maybe it's just congestion. QUOTE Neil Claxton @MintRoyale 1h1 hour ago I'm not really a fan of it, but really surprised Solange is down in the 40s with all the rave reviews. QUOTE Neil Claxton @MintRoyale 1h1 hour ago Meanwhile Craig David is heading for number 1 album in a chart with Radiohead being the only non-new-entry in the top 10. QUOTE Neil Claxton @MintRoyale 1h1 hour ago Robbie might not chart as well. He should just release his Graham Norton story instead. QUOTE Neil Claxton @MintRoyale 1h1 hour ago
Weeknd's pretty abject False Alarm is probably not going to chart next week. Let's hope the album is more like Starboy. |

I'm assuming the Radiohead album in Top 10 is A Moon Shaped Pool? What caused that surge?

Wonder how much Craig David is ahead, Shires could beat him to number one, expect they'll sell well physically. If there are 9 new enteries in the top 10, they probably are- Craig David, Van Morrison, Shires, Slaves, Banks, Pixies, Bon Iver, Opeth, Deacon Blue and possibly Eric Clapton instead of Opeth

The vinyl release, such an odd chart run Great for Craig David, I wonder if The Shires will sell more than Ward Thomas despite peaking lower, I've always felt The Shires are slightly more successful so it's weird the latter got the #1. |

The vinyl release, such an odd chart run Ah right! Tbf a staggered release for each album format seems to have worked wonders for them as they clearly have fans who will buy all 3 and it's really helped their longevity with this album. I thought it would collapse again after its second week at #1, but it has held up much better than I anticipated. I'd so laugh if they returned to #1 for a third week! |

Rather amusingly Robbie's new single has sampled The Apprentice theme tune! (I know that's not where the music originates from but just go with it).
James Arthur to hold onto #1 again? I think Craig David should get the #1 album but I wonder if sales will be any better than last week (or the whole year gone so far). |

Although I'm not really a fan a James Arthur, I'd rather he stay at no1 than give Niall whatever his surname is a number one single. Good news re. Craig David. As for Robbie, his new music isn't anything fantastic so I think he will struggle.

I thought it would collapse again after its second week at #1, but it has held up much better than I anticipated. I'd so laugh if they returned to #1 for a third week! It has been a Release strategy that has had the chart position in mind - different to other recent Albums from Radiohead/Thom Yorke. Saw a recent Interview with Thom Yorke where he has clearly had enough of pioneering Different Release strategies (eg Torrent releases, Releases from own website, Pay as much as you like for download etc). 160k Sales so far is still an underperformance for me (even though it has made it to Top twice), hope it stays in Top 100 in the run-in to Christmas as it is shaping up to be one of the Albums of The Year. |

Bon Iver were ahead of Craig David on iTunes but CD has the supermarket effect helping him as no supermarkets are selling Bon Iver's album
