Whilst Geri was at the peak of her solo career, she filmed a two part documentary for the BBC just after becoming a goodwill ambassador for the UN, called 'Geri's World Walkabout', that aired on BBC One exactly twenty years ago, in February 2000.
In it, she met different people from all over the world to hear their unusual life stories or ways of living. Up until today the only trace of it that existed was a LQ rip of the first nine minutes. Now both the episodes have been uploaded:
I actually remember taping this and watching it when it was on. God bless her, trying to go for Oprah Winfrey's coin. So near and yet so far. Will have to watch this again tonight I think!
Not seen this in so long thanks for sharing.
Thank you for posting I was only 8 1/2 at the time so I wouldn’t have seen this.
Even though Geri had been made UN Ambassador I get the feeling she wanted to do this style of documentary at the end of 1997 which she spoke about in her ‘If Only’ book
