Watching this in about an hour or so.

I find Shyamalan extremely hit and miss, but more miss than hit. When he's good, he's great ('Sixth Sense', 'Unbreakable', 'Glass') but when he's not so good... he's awful. This is getting strong reviews and I find Dave Bautista such a compelling actor so I'm intrigued to see him take the lead in a menacing role (rather than a brief menacing henchman type role).

It's looking like it's a hit at the box office, too!

Right, silly question time: how scary is this? laugh.gif I don't enjoy horror films AT ALL but the trailer is quite compelling...

Now that you've seen it, what do you think?

It was really, very good right up until the last 15-20 minutes for me. Then it just frustrated me. laugh.gif

Here is my review of it on Letterboxd, it has some spoilers so only read if you don't mind being spoiled. But the ending really let it down for me! In terms of "horror" it's more suspenseful horror as opposed to outright horror. Bautista is EXCELLENT (in fact the whole cast were great - but in particular he was).

I just wish the ending was actually the opposite to what happened. Bored of the religious cults always being "right" and how they sacrificed a gay man who was in a really happy, healthy and loving relationship, in order for the world "to be saved".

I was 4 starring it up until the point it became obvious they weren't going to give us the ending the movie deserved.
