Been thinking about doing this for a while so... yeah I'm doing it. Just a thread where I'll post some of my favourite tunes of the moment, not necessarily will all be dance but I should imagine the vast majority will fall into that broad category. No specific frequency either just as & when I feel something is worthwhile sharing!

First up is...

A song I am LOVING right now. C-BooL is a Polish DJ & this particular song is sounding so good in the hot weather we've been blessed with of late. Quite a fitting song title given that link (for those who like hot weather of course).

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 25th July 2016, 05:26 PM

This was on my personal chart a few months ago! music.gif Big fan of the song, great music video as well

Posted by: Ðøßßø 25th July 2016, 05:48 PM

Yeah the vid is good! I'm looking out for other songs from this guy smile.gif

Posted by: Ðøßßø 25th July 2016, 08:47 PM

GORGEOUS deep house track with strings (already in my good books) & even a french horn interlude. Essential track for me atm.

Posted by: Ðøßßø 27th July 2016, 06:07 PM

Sanna Nielsen's 'Undo' meets Alan Walker's 'Faded'. A very nice vocal over some uplifting synths!

Posted by: djgrafdemon 27th July 2016, 09:27 PM

can she just stop ripping off other people' sound? her best times were, um, 2009-2010, I guess.
Faded is unbeatable in that category, sorry. But vocals are nice, yep.

Posted by: Ðøßßø 27th July 2016, 10:06 PM

Yes I recall her track Single Lady from around those years which is quite good also.

Of course I agree it's not as good as Faded but I do prefer the vocals on this one. It's good that's there are songs of this ilk around at the moment though & that it's not just deep & tropical house dominating!

Posted by: Ðøßßø 4th August 2016, 09:52 PM

So this one I'd actually consider more indie than dance but there are subtle dancey elements to it. A Hungarian song with a pretty catchy melody considering I don't understand a word! Weird video but makes it all the more superior IMO.

Posted by: Inna Selez 5th August 2016, 08:34 PM

Thank you man. I always trying to know what other people like to listen. You can always find something new and unusual.

Posted by: Ðøßßø 5th August 2016, 09:42 PM

More than welcome! I agree I find some fantastic songs looking at what other people share so hope others can do likewise with my own offerings smile.gif

Posted by: Ðøßßø 1st September 2016, 06:13 PM

Back with 2 of my fave Spinnin' releases for a good while...

This is just SO feelgood! Don't hear a lot of joyous music anymore but this really hits the spot with its playful instrumentals.

As for this it's just an epic outpouring of energy! Love the tribal sound to this with, fittingly "The Chant", topped off by the thunderous production - it's an attention-grabber!

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 1st September 2016, 07:22 PM

Both of those are nice, they both have world music influences which always appeals to me biggrin.gif

Posted by: Ðøßßø 2nd September 2016, 09:42 PM

So how about an upbeat feelgood track complete with GERMAN vocals that more than bears a passing resemblance to Jonas Blue's Fast Car?

Posted by: Ðøßßø 25th September 2016, 01:33 PM

So this one I'm frankly adoring right now. Sampling Enya's 'Boadicea' & with Alex Aris bringing some STUNNING vocals to the table once again, this is how to take a sample & do something creative and different.

Posted by: lewistgreen 25th September 2016, 01:41 PM

Absolutely adore this!

Posted by: Dobbo 28th October 2016, 11:09 PM

Generic as hell but catchy as hell too, DJ Antoine knocks it out the park again with some Russian assistance including Timati who featured on his most well-known track Welcome To St. Tropez back in 2011. This track reminds me of the sort of sound that was big around that time too, check it out!

Posted by: djgrafdemon 29th October 2016, 08:33 PM

well...you better check out the original one wink.gif

it ain't dance (yep) but miles better than Antoine's version...like worlds apart. Despite you won't uderstand a word cuz it's Russian obviously the original version makes much more sense, and it's rather beautiful after all (than stuff about chicks and money lol). Also what makes the original more attractive is Grigory Leps' voice being less...um...messy.
Back in 2009, Welcome To St. Tropez was released by Timati and made some noise in Russian music market (this version was rather chilly); the same (if not more) buzz was around DJ Antoine remix in 2011, with fluence across the Europe. Remix had it's own uniqueness, and people were buying/listening to it gladly. Can't say the same about London, sorry.
p.s. just forgot to say the main idea - yes, this sound would be greeted well some years ago, anyway I'm not sure if it's okay for our days.

Posted by: Dobbo 29th October 2016, 08:49 PM

Ah thanks for sharing this! Yes that is... quite a different sounding song altogether but really nice too.

I'm a sucker for his production despite him being by no means the best DJ, I remember loving Go With Your Heart a couple years back I played a lot at the time. St. Tropez meanwhile really should have been big in the UK but never made an impact sad.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 31st October 2016, 12:17 PM

Back to deep house now & we have another Swiss artist in the shape of Nora En Pure. Tell My Heart is a vocal version of her instrumental Lake Arrowhead from earlier this year & I tell ya, this really is a delight. Another hint of Jonas Blue, this time Perfect Strangers, with some beautiful piano chords make this an essential for me right now.

Posted by: Dannoween 31st October 2016, 12:30 PM

I had no idea Nora En Pure was a female ohmy.gif

'Tell My Heart' is brilliant, loved the instrumental version too.

Posted by: Dobbo 31st October 2016, 12:38 PM

Indeed they're a rare breed in the DJ world!

I actually came across the vocal first but love both, I think the vocal does just edge it for me though.

Posted by: Dobbo 14th January 2017, 03:08 PM

It's been a long time since I posted here so let's do #7songsin7days

Beautifully constructed piece featuring the seldom used Harp! A very relaxing song but with enough about it to keep you hooked throughout.

Sonique, Dana Rayne, Yasmin and B Traits are the only female dance producers I recall getting top 40 hits, but there are probably more.

Posted by: Danuary 14th January 2017, 03:50 PM

Sister Bliss of Faithless had four top 40 hits as a solo artist also.

Posted by: Dobbo 14th January 2017, 03:53 PM

NERVO scored 2 top 40 hits a few years back.

Posted by: Snake Got Hissed 14th January 2017, 04:14 PM

Oh and also Big Ang and Hannah Wants too...I just remembered

Posted by: Danuary 14th January 2017, 04:37 PM

never occurred to me that Big Ang was a female DJ but it seems that's right ohmy.gif

she's not to be confused with the more well known Big Ang who was a reality TV star though.

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 14th January 2017, 05:28 PM

Very interesting music video there!

Yeah, very trippy & almost nauseating at times to watch laugh.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 15th January 2017, 09:58 PM

Yet another sample of Kelly Charles' 'You're No Good For Me' (made famous by The Prodigy), this house track gives it a real up to date spin with punchy instrumentals & soulful vocals.

Posted by: Dobbo 16th January 2017, 09:54 PM

Another brilliant remix from the Russian duo, their signature sound shining through this bouncy dance tune.

Posted by: Dobbo 18th January 2017, 11:46 PM

This one is just so much fun! One to put you in a good mood dance.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 19th January 2017, 11:06 PM

Thumping production with a Caribbean vibe, chanting & steel drums. What's not to love?

Posted by: Dobbo 20th January 2017, 08:13 PM

Another tropical house Bob Marley reworking but this one's 10 times better than Is This Love. Those driving beats in the drop & gorgeous synths just WORK.

Posted by: Dobbo 20th January 2017, 08:17 PM

And how about this hot mess to finish the week? Sampling Cold Water this combination screams wtf on paper but is actually some sort of collaborative genius? I'll let you be the judge!

Posted by: Dobbo 12th February 2017, 01:52 PM

Here's a fun track I've been spinning a lot recently from German producer DJ Katch. Sampling the melody from Bieber's Sorry in parts & with a very fitting albeit slightly exaggerated video for the theme.

Posted by: Dobbo 25th February 2017, 11:21 PM

The drops go in HARD for this banger!

Posted by: Dobbo 2nd March 2017, 07:44 PM

Just hit #1 on the Dobagan Chart, this is a 100% certified tune. Think Jermaine Stewart-esque vocals over a contemporary house beat music.gif

Posted by: Addy K!ng 2nd March 2017, 07:51 PM

Beautiful, wub.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 2nd April 2017, 08:31 PM

Here's a pretty trashy but still infectious track from another female producer Helena Legend, sampling Major Lazer's Watch Out For This.

Posted by: lewistgreen 2nd April 2017, 09:36 PM

Love it!

Posted by: A🐱🐱y! 3rd April 2017, 03:20 PM

Love it, I also love her previous single 'R U Feeling It' wub.gif

Posted by: DalekTurret32 3rd April 2017, 09:01 PM

Kerala is a great song (plus that music video where they loop that scene over and over)
The Nora En Pure song is also pretty good. The first NEP song I heard was Come With Me (which I heard in a Facebook video I found called "Tag someone you would take to the Maldives")

I think I recall that, not a bad track at all but this one I much prefer!

Yeah a very peculiar video for the Bonobo song, I watched a custom version without the loops and it didn't last very long laugh.gif

I should check out some of her earlier stuff really.

Posted by: Dobbo 2nd May 2017, 06:38 PM

Lively accordion-led instrumental. Think Samim Heater's younger cousin.

Posted by: Dobbo 9th May 2017, 07:55 PM

Nice chilled tropical house song with German vocals. One I'll be spinning in the upcoming months.

Posted by: Dobbo 9th May 2017, 08:00 PM

And here's one I like for those a fan of the abrasive "brostep" style tracks that were prevalent at the height of Skrillex's breakthrough.

Posted by: djgrafdemon 9th May 2017, 10:01 PM

that girl should check her mental health asap laugh.gif btw Skrillex vids are just miles more creepy bcuz those who shot the video for 'Kolavo' make like documental films or nature shoots in real life, I guess; for me, there's a video with an obvious lack of sudden parts and directing work. Anyway,
Thanks Dobbo for sharing this! Absolutely in luv with brostep, this one actually may take some time to unwrap in all its glory.

Posted by: Addy K!ng 10th May 2017, 06:20 PM

Yes Dobbo <3 love this

I am surprised new brostep songs still are reasonably popular online....thought the genre wasn't that popular any more...I know Slushii makes some new brostep songs though like 'Catch Me'.

Posted by: djgrafdemon 10th May 2017, 07:17 PM

oh gosh Snakey you just reminded me of Slushii's 'HAUNT' which I was so madly in love with before my walkman decided to sail away wacko.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 21st May 2017, 06:42 PM

Good to see some brostep fans here, that was quite the odd find on the Spinnin' Channel!

Another one I'm liking a lot atm, a house cover of the 1988 Mica Paris hit My One Temptation:

Posted by: Dobbo 21st June 2017, 11:22 AM

Fresh bouncy tune for the Summer. Very Galantis-like (but luckily not their inferior recent stuff).

Posted by: Dobbo 27th June 2017, 04:22 PM

Been a fun afternoon catching up with all the threads from the past fortnight so the least I can do is offer something in return:

Cool, psytrancey track I'm spinning a lot at the moment, hope you enjoy!

Posted by: Dobbo 15th July 2017, 08:14 PM

An absolute beaut of a deep house track!

Posted by: Dobbo 23rd July 2017, 02:55 PM

Now here's something a little different, a Azerbaijani (I think?) track I recently discovered - love the production so much in this & it works so well as a duet!

Posted by: Dobbo 6th August 2017, 05:18 PM

A really great remix I've recently discovered of an otherwise passable pop song, sounds brill in the sun!

Posted by: Spynz Munich 8th August 2017, 08:16 PM

That remix is MASSIVE ohmy.gif music.gif Cahill is an excellent remixer of pop

Posted by: danG 8th August 2017, 08:20 PM

good to hear that Cahill have still got it.

Posted by: Dobbo 8th September 2017, 07:45 AM

This to be the next Spanish bop to take off please!

Posted by: Dobbo 9th September 2017, 01:52 PM

Now how about a song which ISN'T Dance ohmy.gif a cool pop song from Swiss singer James Gruntz which I've been listening to a lot recently - sounds like a cross between Mike Posner & James Blunt but with a pretty sick beat!

Posted by: D0bz 5th November 2017, 12:50 PM

Been AGES since I last posted in here so here's a great, uptempo track I'm playing loads atm...

Also keep an eye out for the creepy white masks evident in Miley Cyrus' 'We Can't Stop' MV!

Posted by: BridgeCow 5th November 2017, 01:42 PM

^^^love this!

Posted by: D0bz 21st November 2017, 11:37 PM

This is possibly one of the best things I've heard all year wub.gif Think Rinse & Repeat meets Format:B's Chunky, it goes in HARD!

Yup LOVE this!

Luciana is the ultimate dance vocalist for me!

Edit: (And Anna Lunoe who is similar but very distinct too!)

Posted by: Dobbo 13th February 2018, 12:00 PM

Time to revive this thread with a slick 90s-inspired house track!

Posted by: Dobbo 29th March 2018, 01:24 AM

INCREDIBLE deep house tune - probably produced by Filatov & Karas or someone of that ilk but haven't yet checked as here I am sharing it!

Posted by: Dobbo 5th April 2018, 07:12 PM

A VERY interesting reworking of 'You're The One That I Want', let's just leave it at that laugh.gif (tune tho)

THISSS, I was listening to this before and I didn't even realise it was that sample for a couple listen laugh.gif such a banger tho

Posted by: Dobbo 6th April 2018, 06:26 PM

Cool deep house banger, similar sound to Tom Zanetti if you like him. Also no relation to Don as far as I'm aware...

Posted by: Dobbo 5th May 2018, 03:36 PM

This guy really is batshit crazy laugh.gif but serves us another bounce!

Posted by: Dobbo 1st June 2018, 11:38 PM

Not sure how many of you know Bougenvilla but I've recently been enjoying their drops. Nagini was great too but this one edges it for me, top notch instrumental!

Posted by: Dobbo 9th June 2018, 09:36 PM

Cool track I could imagine at 4AM on less-mainstream Radio, very Riton ft. Kah-Lo.

Posted by: lewistgreen 10th June 2018, 08:03 AM
