"I'm Kay Burley, poking the news with a stick until it cries".

I was in stitches with this week's show, especially the Sky News sketch, Natalie Bennett's inability to do numbers and Nick Clegg & the burglar. I haven't seen mainstream TV satire this sharp and vicious in years, quite possibly since Dead Ringers ended. If the show can keep it up, then ITV might be on to a winning comedy show for the first time in years.

This week's show was much improved, the Kay Burley one was brilliant, as was Hopkins and Clarkson.

I agree that it was a better episode that last week on the whole and it's very on point for many of the sketches! Loved the Nicola Sturgeon on Take Me Out sketch particularly.

The TV is treating us this General Election with shows like this and Ballot Monkeys! As Suedehead said in the latter's thread though, it would be nice if they would continue outside of the election period.

The Gary Barlow one (whilst quite amusing) was out of place really as it was old news. However - now that it has been disclosed that he and Howard the Duck and 'Ickle Mark haven't paid a penny back (despite Barlow's fans insisting he has) we can hopefully look forward to some fresh Barlowzoids in the near future! And with far better lyrics than the national treasure himself could come up with! laugh.gif

I want to like this, I'm just finding it really bad so far, they look funny just the stories about them aren't.

Agreed. The scripts have generally been fairly weak so far.

Spitting Image had a team of mostly young writers at the start of their career. They included Ian Hislop, Steve Punt, John O'Farrell, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor (Red Dwarf), Andy Parsons, Stewart Lee and Jo Brand. I'm not sure the Newzoids scriptwriters will launch careers of that calibre.

I watched this week and thought a couple of the sketches were quite good, the Nick Clegg one and the Katie Hopkins ones in particular.

Nothing here made me laugh out loud yet, and some of the sketches seemed to be recycling the same jokes the second time around which was a shame. I did absolutely love the Katie Hopkins & Gary Barlow ones though.

Do people think this will get a second series?

It's second episode got just over 2 million viewers, which isn't brilliant for 9pm on ITV, but on the other hand it always trends very well on Twitter when it's on. If its ratings drop any lower I doubt it'll survive the chop, but it could have the word-of-mouth effect in its favour.

As Brett said, the current low ratings suggest it's unlikely unless it's pushed to after the news or something.

Newzoids would do better in another slot. Wednesday at 9pm is such a bad slot for it. Hopefully it gets a second series and ITV don't throw it under a bus again. It's at least get a lot of social media attention.

Oh my god Leanne Wood rotf.gif CREYENNN. Definitely the most I've laughed at this show so far!

Loved Miranda popping up tonight too. This was definitely my favourite of the three episodes.

This week's episode was a bit of a comedown after last week's episode. The satire wasn't as sharp, and there was barely a laugh in it. I did mildly enjoy the This Morning sketch, and they got Leanne Wood spot on.

*edit*, oh, and David Cameron thinking the three things that the poor love are gravy, Amanda Holden, and drugs.

I'm enjoying tonight's show too. Its a shame the voices aren't that great (with a couple of exceptions) but the scripts are OK.

I loved Miranda too! And the Barlowzoid of course. I loved the Roy Hodgson and Rooney one too.

The Evan Davis one is a little cruel! I mean Yoda or what?
