BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Will the Sats ever have a million selling single/album?

Posted by: Umi 22nd August 2014, 02:05 AM

As we all know the Sats are struggling a tad more lately but other artists have came back from worse fares in the album and single stakes. Maroon 5 had a million seller with 'Moves Like Jagger' but could the Sats get one? unsure.gif Don't forget The Sound of Girls Aloud also sold a million after Chemistry bombed, so album recoveries can happen too.

Personally I have a feeling they might get a million selling single if they collab with a rapper, but I think a million selling album would be a bit much unsure.gif

I will have to say no. kink.gif It would be nice if they could sell 100k+ of a single and 100k+ of an album again. A mere bonus if they manage to sell 10 times more of each. whistle.gif

*We all look back on this thread in years to come and laugh while we listen to their million selling smash*

No and no. Them merely releasing another album will great for me at this stage with how WAYWF flopped, let alone it selling like that! I think even another gold selling single is a bit of a stretch sad.gif

Sadly not cry.gif no.

I do think they have the potential for future singles to go silver if they put the effort in, possibly Gold (although, I doubt it) but I don't think they'll ever have a million selling single/album but What About Us could sell 500k over time and that's half a million (with streaming involved) so that's a positive I guess. kink.gif

Never say never. #NotGivingUp

Lol Umi! I thought you were trying to wind us up!

I have to say no... Their highest selling single hasn't even sold half of a million and they haven't even managed a million albums collectively.

Album sales need to pick up generally, otherwise nobody is getting another million seller!

Umi laugh.gif I've seen you post in The Sats forum before but I didn't realise you were an actual fan ohmy.gif Always great to see though cheekkiss.gif

Oh and in reference to your question I think no and no laugh.gif

Unless they actually somehow blow up worldwide. They should go on a small world tour tbh.

I know it's low expectations but I really hope they can manage another 100/200k selling single and have an album go Silver (preferably Greatest Hits)...

I voted 'No' for both.

Nope tongue.gif

Posted by: mr_aly 22nd August 2014, 12:18 PM

I don't think they'll get the chance to release anything again now.

Posted by: AdamAloud 22nd August 2014, 12:51 PM

At least nobody can accuse the fans here of being delusional with these results.

(I voted 'no' for both).

I don't think we'll see another studio album myself.

Posted by: yeeeah 22nd August 2014, 05:00 PM

Haha absolutely no chance for either!

Yes.

808 Feat Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Pitbul and One Direction will smash.

Don't forget Iggy Azalea!!1!

In all honesty, I think they need to be focusing more on selling a million albums in *total*... kink.gif

Is water dry?
Are clouds black?
Is grass blue?

Alexandra and Pixie are more likely to have a #1 single

Considering they have 6 number ones between them, this isn't a strange thing to say.

I did have to say no and no. It's very rare for a single to sell over a million copies. It would take something extraordinary for a single of theirs to sell over a million copies, considering they don't have a platinum single to their name, and only one gold single.

For an album, considering album sales in general are so poor and The Saturdays between all their albums haven't even sold a million all together I'd say it's more likely that I will naturally conceive a child and give birth myself.

damnit I forgot about thunderclouds mad.gif
Altho with the current situation with the 2 ladies, it's unlikely they'll score a top 10 again, let alond a #1, given they are regarded as the biggest flops of the UK music industry right now (poor Lee and me sad.gif)

I think had they opted right combination of singles back in the CL to H! era, a million selling single could have happened. Album? No chance.

Posted by: Nick F1 23rd August 2014, 07:25 PM

well for album definitely no, but for single is possible, smart release strategy, a lot of radio support and tv promotion x factor etc.
