awesome Norwegian show that I've been getting through for a few weeks now, anyone seen it? That's where I discovered my BJSC entry for this month
YES
#Evak
but at the end of Series 1 when we saw all the gay porn on Isak's phone !!!! *.*
oml that killed me
My friend is obsessed with this and has been trying to get me to watch for a couple of weeks now, need to find the time!!
randomfurlong sent me the links for this that I need to get round to watching and thanking him for. Looks so good and anything that has 5 Fine Frøkner in it is clearly amazing because it's FLAWLESS
I was sceptical when Youtube and Tumblr searches seem to show a Twilight-esque following. And I can see exactly why it's attracted that demographic but I'm also loving it!
I've just binged this, having started on Friday and finishing season 3 earlier today. It's very easy to watch and at the start or maybe throughout season 1 I was liking it but not LOVING it, with season 2 I quickly became OBSESSED. It's very real and relatable.
I love the way it handles issues such as the speech Eskild gave to Isak, and the way Jonas' reaction regarding Even was just...carry on as normal, no big reaction. Jonas felt a lot more likeable in season 3 compared to season 1.
I hope season 4 is focusing on Sana (I didn't like her when she was initially introduced but she's become one of my favourites now), but at the same time I don't want Evak to fade into the background too much 💔 Also can we get Willhelm back, I miss him.
Have no idea what to do with my life until season 4 begins, except search Evak tags on tumblr all day
I binged watched season 3 today and wow this was incredible I love Even and Isak both very likeable and really good together as a couple
I might have to watch season 1 and 2 as well at some point!
Season 4 is Sana. Starting on Monday. It's also the final season.
Sana is absolutely the right choice but WHAT at it being the final season, I'm so upset and shocked, just when I've started stanning for it 😭 Aren't they only in the second year of three years at the school, I hoped for at least another couple of seasons.
I've made my way through the first three seasons over the past few weeks (thank you Jahq for recommending it to me! ). Slight spoilers ahead, don't read if you've not seen!
I'd say my main enjoyment of this series stems from how "real" it feels... at no point does it feel too overly dramatic to the point it doesn't ring true. It's just very good story telling, it all feels natural, and every theme touched upon has been handled so well. I found myself really caring for these characters very quickly.
Season 3 is my favourite so far. I guess that's partly because Isak's struggle with his sexuality is certainly something I can relate to (from when I was a teenager), but also because... *I will sound like a shipper* Isak & Even are so cute together, so I was really rooting for them throughout the season. It was really touching that Isak had so much support from friends and nonjudgmental parents... I actually teared up at the text he received from his mum.
I'm glad the final season has Sana as the focus, really enjoying it so far. Not only because she's fierce*, but it's really interesting to see her trying to balance Norwegian culture and her religion in greater depth.

Favourite characters: Isak, Sana, Vilde ( :') ) & Noora.
This season is so good. As good and relatable as season 3 was, it was very rarely challenging and aside from a brief look into the murky world of mental illness, I found Isak's coming-out story to be comfort viewing. I'm so glad that season four is as mature as season two and presents a more topical subject that is likely to be unfamiliar to Skam's fanbase.
Just finished season 1 and this is so good! Noora is my instant fave, what a feminist icon/queen *.* I also really liked Eva and Sana. Vilde is a bit of a twat but she's amusing with it, with this show even when characters are less likeable like her, Jonas and William you can see what they bring the show in different ways. Isak I'm not seeing the fuss over tbh but ofc I haven't seen the all important season 3. It's so addictive too, because most of the episodes are short you feel like you haven't watched much of it so you just chuck on other one It's so well done too, the format etc makes it so gripping and you find yourself caring about most characters.
OK I took ages to start season 2 lmao but omg I think William and Noora are my fave couple in anything ever.
"I find that hard to believe, that they don't love you. That's practically impossible" brb weeping FOREVER
Omg I don't think I'll EVER stop sobbing at O Helga Natt. What a spectacular stunning scene. Season 3 has been amazing, I expected it to be super overrated because the fans are awful but it's a natural sweet love story as great to watch unfold as Noora and William just in a totally different way. Both relationships and the way they played out as well as everything else around them felt so real, the reactions to everything feel so real, nothing was over dramatized for the sake of it. It didn't have to be a huge deal that Isak came out because it was lovely to just see everyone accept like it's no big deal as it should be, especially the scene when he told Jonas. I agree with harve it wasn't as challenging or shocking as season 2 but it was such lovely uplifting viewing, Evak are SO sweet. Between them and Noorhelm I finally know shipping feels like lmaoo, I'm still not over William telling Noora it was impossible for anyone not to love her
Season 2 wise, I also adored the way they dealt with Nora's sexual assault, perhaps the best portrayal of that sort of issue I've seen! The way she isolated herself but later how she told people, how they reacted and how she dealt with it was all flawless the whole way through. Onto season 4 now, I'm gonna be so gutted when I'm done and there's no more
So this got a French remake which starts this week.
I didn't expect it to stick to the original so closely. I'm really not so sure about this.
Eek that does seem destined to be shit. The format was brilliant and something I think should be taken by other countries but if they follow the original closely I can't see how it would go well. The plots are so tied up in Norwegian culture and customs, it's only gonna be similar to how the US versions of Skins and Inbetweeners were total shite because it was nigh on impossible to fit the quintessentially British plots and ideas in an American way.
It sounds like how the American remake of skins I.e. they followed the plot so closely and we all know how that turned out..
Lmao that just looks like a parody
Just read that the American version should be coming later this year and that Facebook has the rights to 'broadcast' it..
I rather stick to the original cause no one could replace my Isak/Tarjei
Skam Austin (American version) is out on the 24th via Facebook watch!
It'll be interesting to see an English version I suppose but given America's track record with remakes I don't hold much hope Julie Andem is on board though so hopefully it's good.
US Remakes rarely work so I'm not holding out for it to be good.
