Her first single since signing to SyCo, serving 'Rockabye' teas (I'm aware she did write that song), think of that mixed with Sia. Potential hit? I quite like it.

Very 'Rockabye', but I do like it.

I adore her voice. wub.gif

This is quite nice! Definitely sounds like a Rockabye/Sia mix

I like it, but it really is a "The Greatest"/"Rockabye" rip off.

I'n loving this *.* Reminding me of The Greatest so much though!

Unsurprisingly has gone to #2 officially in Norway and is currently #1 on iTunes over there. Alan Walker has done a remix for it too!

Just listened to that Alan Walker remix - that is a strong track, wonder if it will crossover to the UK?

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 7th January 2018, 12:17 PM

That remix is barely any different to the original?

Admittedly, I've only heard the original once or twice and that was months ago laugh.gif

I've been really loving this for a few weeks now wub.gif The remix gives it a bit of a kick and is better for parties/gatherings I guess, but it's not really needed tongue.gif That said though, the Alan Walker remix also doesn't take anything from the song. Too many remixes these days strip apart the song and leave not much of the original there, so good job Alan laugh.gif

I love both the original and remix, they're not drastically different but it's great in both forms imo. The song is beautiful, Ina sounds brilliant and the lyrics are so touching and convincing.

great song, she clearly can write great songs

I wonder why Ann Marie ended up singing Rockabye instead of her? I think it would have made more sense for Ina to sing it, since it's her story in the song about her son and all

Posted by: Danuary 7th January 2018, 04:13 PM

Record label must've wanted Anne-Marie to be featured on such a hit to further her own solo career, Ina was probably hired to write the song with the knowledge she wouldn't be singing it.

Rockabye might not be personal to Anne-Marie as such but I think she sings it with plenty of conviction anyway, Ina didn't need to sing it when she's got this to tell her story! (and Rockabye isn't quite the same despite ultimately coming down to being a single mum)

I've been giving this plays, as a song it's fine but I find the sound of it a bit too generic to properly get on board with. sad.gif

Like, it even sounds a bit like 'Shape of You' as well.
