#11: Lonely Lullaby
I'll dissolve when the rain pours in... Avg: 8.25 Sing them this lullaby: Jaco (11), Iz (9), Spinning Adam (8) Lonely in his low score: Mattias (5) Total score from all voters (4): 33 Taken from: All Things Bright and Beautiful (Owl City Galaxy Bonus Track - 2011) Said to be about Adam's ex-girlfriend Annmarie Monson, who is mentioned many times throughout the song, this stripped-down, reflective ballad was originally an exclusive single that was released to all members of Owl City Galaxy, a club that people automatically became a part of when they pre-ordered the All Things Bright and Beautiful album. While quite obviously a very moving and emotion-filled song, it has never been among my many favourites and it's difficult for me to articulate why. I think parts of the melody are a bit of a let-down for me personally. The chorus, however, I find stunning. So we have our top ten! CODE 11. Lonely Lullaby

#10: To the Sky
Chase your dreams, and remember me, speak bravery... Avg: 8.42 Bird's eye view: Jaco (10), Mattias (9), Spinning Adam (8.5), Iz, Cody (8) Worm's eye view: Total score from all voters (6): 50.5 Taken from: Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole soundtrack (2010) KICKING OFF the top 10, we have the first track of many recorded for a movie, To the Sky, of which song is included in a scene from Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. A pretty decent animated movie about owls () and you should all watch it tbh I find it very comparable to Dreams Don't Turn to Dust imo, but I prefer this one so I'm glad this one made the top 10 #9 ended up with exactly the same average as this one, but it had one score given by someone that was higher. Can you predict which song it was? Dressing to the Top Nines are: CODE 10. To the Sky 11. Lonely Lullaby 12. Galaxies 13. Dreams Don't Turn to Dust 14. Metropolis 15. Peppermint Winter 16. #9: Alligator Sky (feat. Shawn Chrystopher)
Where was I when the rockets came to life? Avg: 8.42 Up ahead: Spinning Adam (11), Iz (9), Mattias (9), Cody (8) See you later alligator: () Total score from all voters (6): 50.5 Taken from: All Things Bright and Beautiful (2011) So this is the song with exactly the same average as To the Sky, but Adam's extreme score of 11 means this is one place higher. This was the first single from All Things Bright and Beautiful, and also appears with no rap as a bonus track on some versions of the album. It is currently the only Owl City song to contain a rap and Adam wanted to experiment with it because of his love of how hip-hop music is put together. The music video deals with the concept of two men leaving a very polluted earth. At the end of the music video, we can see what appears to be shots from Adam's personal home videos, a nice touch. Still in: CODE 09. Alligator Sky (feat. Shawn Chrystopher)

Another extra bit of info, there were also versions recorded with B.o.B and Big Boi (the latter of which wasn't too great) and the Long Lost Sun remix was also included in the tracklist. The music video seems to tie in with the Deer In the Headlights video as we see Adam in the astronaut suit at the end of the video.
Next rate coming soon. |

I love all of the last three. It's got to that point. And I wouldn't mind any of what's left doing well at all. Alligator Sky was a bit of an... interesting comeback at least if not his most standout work ever but I have listened to it loads.

#8: Angels
Living close to the ground is seventh heaven 'cause there are angels all around... Avg: 8.50 Beautiful things seen by the astronauts : Iz (10), Spinning Adam (8.5), Mattias (8) Absolutely atrocious things seen by the astronauts : Total score from all voters (4): 34 Taken from: All Things Bright and Beautiful (2011) Another one of the many great tunes from ATBAB, Angels provides another set of amazing vocals and lyrical composition. It's also another track that refers to his beliefs as a Christian, stating that he believes thre are beatiful things seen by the astronauts, angels as the song's title suggests. #7: Umbrella Beach
Home will always be here, unseen, out of sight Avg: 8.75 Dreamy things: Iz (10), Spinning Adam (10), Cody (9), Jaco (9), Liam (8) Disappear and hide: ... Total score from all voters (6): 52.5 Taken from: Ocean Eyes (2009) Here we have Umbrella Beach, saying at #7. Seems slightly strange to see it as "low" as this, but my score of 6.5 brought it down. A song that could be described as "euphoric", it is a very catchy one, with a chorus that has the potential to make the whole world bust a move. I personally just no longer get as much of a kick from it as I used to. The song peaked at #12 in the UK Dance Charts. The six tunes left: CODE 07. Umbrella Beach

'Alligator Sky' is one of the only Owl City songs I particularly care for, can't help but feel it should be higher.

'Alligator Sky' is one of the only Owl City songs I particularly care for, can't help but feel it should be higher. I agree that it would be great to see it higher. It's slightly surprising to me to have 'Angels' higher than it, for example, as much as I do like that song. Jaco gave 'Alligator Sky' a score of 6 which didn't help the song. |

Angels has so much power in his voice, I'm pleased it's done that well.
Umbrella Beach a bit low really, that was one of the songs that made me realise he was much more than just Fireflies. |

#6: Beautiful Times (feat. Lindsey Stirling)
The sun's starting to rise, oh, oh, these are beautiful times... Avg: 8.92 Restoring life to the lighthouse : Cody, Mattias (9.5), Iz, Spinning Adam (9), Liam (8.5), Jaco (8) (that's allllllll of you ) The sky turned black : Total score from all voters (6): 53.5 Taken from: Ultraviolet EP (2014) At ~SIX~ we have Beautiful Times. It was released as a single taken from the fourth EP Ultraviolet in 2014. It features violinist Lindsey Stirling, the only time a non-vocalist has been credited (apart from songs that Adam features on). It is also the only single to have been released that was not included on an album. The video seems to take some elements of Fireflies as it is set in a child's bedroom and various toys are flying around, and I personally love it Lindsey also features in the video and I think the song and video fit really well together Five Fabulous Favourites Still In : CODE Fireflies

#5: Tokyo (feat. Sekai No Owari)
Are you having fun yet? I'll send you the sunset Avg: 9.00 (feat. Sekai YES Owari): Mattias (11), Iz (10), Spinning Adam (8) (feat. Sekai NO BABY NO Owari): no baby no one Total score from all voters (4): 36 Taken from: Mobile Orchestra (Japanese Edition, 2015) Starting out the top 5 is Tokyo, a fun, energetic song that was included on the Japanese Edition of Mobile Orchestra, but is also available as a single in other areas. The song features a group from, indeed, Tokyo, who go by the name of Sekai no Owari. I'm literally filled with joy every time this track starts and that bassline begins to play. The song features a guitar solo, which is unusual for an Owl City track but certainly adds flavour. The official visualizer is also a lot of fun and I enjoy the variation of clips from a live show performing the song, and clips from the city of Tokyo. Seeing Adam and the collaborators bounce off each other during the performance is fantastic to see also. The Four Amigos: CODE Fireflies

#4: Good Time (with Carly Rae Jepsen)
We don't even have to try, it's always a good time... Avg: 9.08 It really is always a good time Cody (10), Liam, Spinning Adam (9.5), Iz, Mattias (9) It isn't always a good time: Total score from all voters (6): 54.5 Taken from: The Midsummer Station (2012) Unfortunately the second highest peaking single and second and of only two top 5 UK singles Owl City currently has is out at only #4 It features Call Me Maybe star Carly Rae Jepsen (credited as 'with') and was the lead single from the fourth album The Midsummer Station, as well as Carly's second album Kiss. Shooting Star was originally going to be the lead single but Adam decided to go ahead with this due to Carly's international success with CMM. It might sound very different to his usual stuff but this is still quite the tune and I'm glad the pair were able to get another top 5 with it *Lazy paste from Wikipedia* QUOTE In October 2012, Alabama singer-songwriter Allyson Nichole Burnett filed a copyright infringement suit authored by attorney Neville Johnson in California federal court against Jepsen and Young as well as several publishing companies and performing rights groups. She claimed that Young, Matt Thiessen and Brian Lee copied a prominent motif of her 2010 song, "Ah, It's a Love Song". Burnett's song is in an F key while "Good Time" is in the key of E flat, but there are also other similarities with both of these songs, including an identical pitch sequence (5-3-5-3-2), melodic contour (down, up, down, down), rhythmic construction (8th rest, 8th note, 8th note, 8th note, 8th note, 8th rest, quarter note), timbre (textless vocals) etc.[16]Burnett was also suffering "emotional and psychological damage" from fans asking why she copied the song, although there isn't any specific cause of action pinned to her distress.[16] In January 2014 Jepsen's music publishing company, BMI, reached an agreement with Burnett to place over $800,000 in royalties in an escrow account for the plaintiff's benefit. In return, Burnett agreed to drop her lawsuit.[17] In June 2014 the suit was dropped after an investigation revealed the song to be an original work, the royalties in escrow were returned to both, with Owl City receiving $525,901.77.[18][19] It was kind of a stretch don't you think? All that sounded slightly similar was the beginning bit. Very pleased to see it was dropped Here's the song in question; give it a listen Three Free Owls Still In: CODE Fireflies Vanilla Twilight Deer in the Headlights 04. It's surprising that 'Good Time' did not make it to top 2, others may be surprised by that too, but Jaco gave it 7.5. Easily one of his catchiest tunes which makes it so infectious.

#3: Deer in the Headlights
Tell me again, was it love at first sight When I walked by and you caught my eye? Avg: 9.50 Caught their ear: Iz (10), Jaco (10), Spinning Adam (10), Mattias (10), Cody (9), Liam (8) Pepper spray: not a soul Total score from all voters (6): 57 Taken from: All Things Bright and Beautiful (2011) At #3 we have Deer in the Headlights, a very synth-heavy track dealing with the subject matter of seeing someone you're interested in but things just don't work out, possibly because of the pepper spray she's carrying around. The music video features both the artist Lights, and the DeLorean from 'Back to the Future'. You decide which is cooler. So now we have just two songs battling it out! CODE Fireflies

#2 Vanilla Twlilight

Another track of many that has a title consisting of two nouns, but using 'Vanilla' as a descriptive term for Twlilight. Cody should be thrilled to see this do so well as he gave it 11 and everyone gave it an 8 or more. A very chillout video and song also, this made an ok peak of 94 on the UK Singles Chart. It was the second single to be released from the second album Ocean Eyes after Fireflies. it only had 0.5 higher total rate than DITH, making it very close! So who is #1? I'll let Mattias post the full results and commentary CODE 02. Vanilla Twlilight
