I swear I didn't plan on this coincidence! Avicii's last song to show up is of course the mega smash 'Wake Me Up', featuring vocals from Aloe Blacc. The song is one of the biggest selling singles of this decade and in streaming as well. It's just a real shame that it's kinda tainted hearing it now because of sad circumstances. As with the first few words at the start of the paragraph, Rita who was number 6 teamed up with Avicii in what turned out to be his final hit being alive in 2017 so it's very ironic that they are both together here. Unfortunately 'Lonely Together' didn't feature even though it's good too but these two songs from them individually are ones that will stand be remembered for years/decades to come!

No.4 comes from Major Lazer, DJ Snake & MΨ with 'Lean On', a tropical summery anthem which stormed it's way everywhere in 2015. This was the first song to properly put MΨ on the map as well.

and... Adele is left with just one song in the top 2. 'Set Fire To The Rain' is 3rd. IIRC this missed the top 10 in the UK Chart which was a shame as this should have given Adele three consecutive top 10's. Still #11 is nothing to moan about I guess, coming off a monster album after all!

I mean I wasn't going to do much suspense here when you have a song that spent 64 WEEKS in my top 40 unbroken.. I remember a few of you moaning about how it was still in my chart at 40 weeks laugh.gif (looking at Mango in particular even though he won't see the thread) Clean Bandit finish as my favourite song of the decade.. despite that history making amount of weeks in my chart.. there were at least 6 songs that were just as worthy of getting to the top (no joke whatsoever). Adele settles for runner up with 'Rolling In The Deep' which just edges out SFTTR but girl she was on fire this era, is it any surprise this era specifically was humongous. Now we await Adele's return potentially this year?

So there it is, 2010's decade chart completed. Thank you again to everyone who commented throughout and let's look forward to hopefully another big decade of songs!

Favourites from the one's I've not commented on already:

1 Clean Bandit Ft Jess Glynne – Rather Be Nice choice of #1! Certainly one of the biggest songs of the decade but an absolutely brilliant one at that, really deserved to be the hit it became!
4 Major Lazer and DJ Snake Ft MΨ - Lean On
5 Avicii – Wake Me Up
6.Rita Ora – Anywhere
8. Alan Walker – Faded
21.Swedish House Mafia Ft John Martin - Don't You Worry Child
24.Avicii - Hey Brother Avicii has so many beautiful songs but this is one of his best, certainly my favourite of his older music
26.Clean Bandit Ft Anne-Marie & Sean Paul – Rockabye
27.Gotye Ft Kimbra - Somebody I Used To Know Such a shame both these artists were one-hit wonders sad.gif
31.MΨ - Final Song
53 Dua Lipa – New Rules
62 Kiesza - Hideaway
63 Paolo Nutini - Scream (Funk My Life Up)
66 George Ezra - Blame It On Me
69 Passenger – Let Her Go I don't think I really thought much of this when it was out but it has grown on me recently, I do really like his voice
72 Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks
76 Sheppard – Geronimo
79 JP Cooper – September Song A brilliant song, I remember discovering it months before it became famous then being delighted when it was included on a NOW CD and then as it slowly rose up the chart, glad you were such a fan as well wub.gif

Thanks for sharing this, I've enjoyed following along!

1. Yep there's no doubt it was going to be at big hit.
24. Agreed, he's released some great songs. I still listen to HB every now and then and it just sounds even sadder than before as I always found it quite an emotional song to listen to.
27. Yeah, was just looking up about him recently to see what he's upto nowadays. I guess maybe he has no other hit sounding songs to break that tag.
69. It's a nice song but yeah I can see why that might be the case.
79. I know I was worried that it would just scrape the top 40 and drop out quickly again so it was pleasing to see it take off so well. Shame he hasn't released anything half as good since (from what I've heard of his)

Thanks for the comments throughout Pete!

Will comment on other EOYS soon. Haven't forgotten!

What an amazing choice of #1 wub.gif 'Rather Be' is so euphoric and really brings back some positive memories of sixth form for me. It was quite surreal to see them suddenly #1 on iTunes after following their smaller chart successes up to that point.

It's funny how they can suddenly release something that smashes in such a huge way after getting little success beforehand. I don't think CB were around that long before this anyway. Thanks Jade!
