Foreigners just can not figure it out due to advertisements, so could you tell me about musical trends in UK? Which modern British groups will pass into the category of classics next 10-15 years and will regularly remember with nostalgia and the same interest, with the release of books, documentaries, etc., like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin... Thank you for the answer!)

Not on a Beatles/Rolling Stones/Queen scale but no-one today fits that criteria. Adele and Ed Sheeran too, they are real cultural phenomenons of the past few years. And despite not being British, Rihanna has had one of the best chart histories ever here, so her too

I would say Ed Sheeran is bigger, simply because he's had two huge albums with countless single success. If Sam Smith repeats his success with his next album hell deserve the same status. Joined: 4 November 2009 Posts: 19,813 User: 9,885	One great year is not enough to make it into classic status....even two good year is doubtful....look at Travis/Stereophonics/Kaiser Cheifs/Kean/Scissor Sisters/Shania Twain/Dina Carrol/Tracy Chapman....the list is endless of acts that had one or two great years. As someone said above Dido had two phenominal eras but is she all time great? I think there's more than one way of joining the list. I would suggest that Girls Aloud are far closer to being all time great compared to Dido. I think critical acclaim can be substituted for longevity. KLF, Stone Roses, Nirvana are all closer to all time great bands but their sales dont reflect that.
