Surprise huns! We're hitting y'all with a twist! This year, Buzzfestivalen will be running one week behind the pace of Melodifestivalen (our rationale being that usually by the start of May when we finally get to the final the energy has run out of Buzzfestivalen so we're aiming to run the contest while the songs are still fresh in people's minds).

So, for your consideration this week we have:

Sigrid Bernson - Patrick Swayze

Former professional dancer on the Swedish equivalent of Strictly Come Dancing (aka the 2nd biggest show in Sweden behind Melodifestivalen) come popstar was awarded a place in Andra Chansen this week, will Buzjack do the same?

John Lundvik - My Turn

A guy who wrote the song for the most(?) recent Swedish Royal Wedding enters a power ballad that would have been a contender in Melfest 2002 and managed to get 2nd place in a very mediocre heat. Will BuzzJack be so strucken?

Renaida - All The Feels

Swedish Idol NOX specialist turns the backing vocals up to 11 and delivers this stone cold banger. Sweden gave this a second chance but will we be more keen?

Edward Blom - Livet på en pinne

No.

Kikki Danielson - Osby Tennessee

A B-List Schlager diva from days gone by does the only acceptable thing for older Swedish pop singers to do and be all "oh I've ALWAYS loved country music" before an inevitable last place in the heat finish. Will we be kinder on the old hag or not?

Kamferdrops - Solon lever kvar hos dig

Presented without comment

Benjamin Ingrosso - Dance You Off

Everyone's favorite half-Italian half-Swedish hairy arms owner Benjamin Ingrosso is back and aiming for that easy DTF and 4th place in the Final finish, but are we buying what he's selling?

Send me your votes via PM to me, LexC, by 23:59 Friday 9th February results will be presented over that weekend. Votes should be in the following format

12 - your favorite
10
08
06
04
02 - your 6th favorite

For the copy and pasters amongst you;

Sigrid Bernson - Patrick Swayze
John Lundvik - My Turn
Renaida - All The Feels
Edward Blom - Livet på en pinne
Kikki Danielsen - Osby Tennessee
Kamferdrops - Solen levar kvar hos dig
Benjamin Ingrosso - Dance You Off

Love Love Peace Peace, and happy voting!

So due to a scheduling clash IRL for me, results for this will now be on Sunday Evening so you’re all being given another 24 hours to send your votes in.

7th Place: Edward Blom - Livet på en pinne (22 points)

Thank god for that few seconds of "oh crap" looks from side to side or this might have actually made it through to Andra Chansen. Not even Iz's 12 could pull this through.

6th Place: Kikki Danielsen - Osby Tennessee (32 points)

A dignified exit from Melfest by Kikki here, but lets see if we can go one year without driving an ageing schlager boiler to Country Music in 2019 (if even Anna Book resorts to this then all hope TRULY IS LOST)

DTF: Renaida - All The Feels

Let's face it, nobody ever wore orange to perform something regal and dignified. Renaida goes direkt til...shall we say...Stoke-on-Trent for the Buzzfestivalen Final!

AC: Kamferdrops - Solen lever kvar hos dig

Theory: Kamferdrops is Dilba disguised as a Norwegian anime fan moonlighting as a pop star

So next we will reveal the fate of Benjamin Ingrosso, is he going Direkt til Stoke, to Andra Chansen in...err...Nuneaton or is he going home in 5th place disgrace?

Obviously I can't post the video on here so here's the next best thing...a thirst trap photo!

DTF: Benjamin Ingrosso - Dance You Off

Buzzjack and Sweden's tastes align as everyone's favourite half-Italian descendant of a mad Schlager boiler goes straight through to the final!

So, we're left with an AC or BUST duel between Sigrid and John. The song we thought would be a pleasing 80s influenced bop but we ended up thinking was a bit half-baked versus the song we all expected to be a write off from the coffin slot but turned out to be decent enough for Sweden to give him a direct ticket to Friends Arena.

Not overly fussed who gets it out of Sigrid and John tbh, it was the correct top 3 (I mean, I can't imagine either beat Kamferdrops on Buzzjack)
