Very happy with that winner and outcome for Stealing the Enterprise. I knew it wasn’t competitive but as soon as the thread went up I knew I was sending something from Star Trek and I think that’s one of the absolute standouts from the whole franchise.

Not a bad finish there and in the middle of the pack! Thanks all for voting my entry! Huge congratulations to Wardy for his first music contest win and hopefully there will be a widget for him soon! It is a really nice score there and the classic Blue Danube finishing just 2 points behind is really nice to see! Kudos to Tafty for hosting and the idea! Hope to see more similar contests in the future with TV or game scores!

Congrats Wardy! Wasn't actually one of my favourites but it does makes me want to watch that film more so I can see it in context! The rest of the top 5 were all great too, great to see both Ghibli ones in there, and it's been so long since I've seen Casper and that one sounded so good.
Could've gone worse for Anna, you all need to go see the movie so you can see it in context and stan it more xx Absolutely loved this contest and I am so here for it being a regular thing |

Also, I have never seen those Star Trek movies, but I liked that score a LOT. I would highly recommend the score for Star Trek II - most of the motifs in “Stealing The Enterprise” originate there and it’s very easy to see the Horner trademark sound (and indeed many similarities to Titanic). It doesn’t include the Alexander Courage/Jerry Goldsmith fanfare but it’s hands down my favourite score. And for anyone interested in further further Star Trek listening Dennis McCarthy’s Generations Suite and Cliff Eidelman’s The undiscovered Country Suite are also well worth a listen. |

Can second Star Trek II for sure, I went back and listened to some after Stealing The Enterprise and Battle of the Mutara Nebula is very similar but more tense (as suits the situation in that movie). Great pick though, loved some real classical bombasticness showing up in here and 'Stealing The Enterprise' does incorporate so many of my favourite Star Trek leitmotifs. Excellent results, thank you all for letting me come so close and well done all, good songs all around, I do love The Sixth Station as well, though I'd have picked a few other Ghibli tracks before that, something from Howl's Moving Castle perhaps, as that has a stunning soundtrack. Considered a lot of them going through my choices and now I want to rewatch half of the movies. I had so much choice for this, I was considering whether to send some Klaus Badelt or Hans Zimmer, or some songs from RADWIMPS (Your Name) or Kensuke Ushio (A Silent Voice), would definitely welcome another round some time. |

Ah can't believe I missed the results! Thanks for sorting this Jonjo - some really great pieces of music there that I'd not heard before.
And I should have guessed that you were the reason I couldn't use Portals |

I meant to reply earlier but glad the deduction didn't affect the position too much! Wonderful winner but in general, absolutely wonderful competition. Was so hard to narrow down for this, thanks for hosting it Jonjo!
