The day when 3 of my other colleagues, take a look at what has been selling yesterday, and today, in various record shops. We take 4 shops sales info, add it together, then take a look at 4 download charts, add that in. Then top it up with Radioplay. This give`s a good idea, of how the charts, will look on the following Sunday! Firstly this week, I want to thank Brian Hankin (from another site), for all your interest last week. We got all over the web, last week because no one believed JAY SEAN would be that high! Lots of compilation albums in the charts, at the moment. Shame they are not included in OCCs main chart. They do publish a combined one, on the subscription to Music Week. Outside the top 20, down goes NOW 68, CLUBBERS GUIDE TO 2008, POWER OF LOVE is 23, LEONA is 24, BILLY FURY has a new entry at 25 (This being the 25th anniversary, of his sad passing in 1983). Also there are entries for GILES PETERSON, DAVID JORDAN is in the top 30, down goes AMY WINEHOUSE, MICHAEL BUBLE, and there is another new entry for K.D. LANG, in the top 40, along with MARS VOLTA and also, VAMPIRE WEEKEND. It appears to be a 3 way battle at the top today, but BASSHUNTER reclaim the top spot. Outside the top 20, T2 are 21, WOMBATS 22, GIRLS ALOUD 23, BOOTY LUV 24, then CASCADA, MIKA, KYLIE and SCOUTING FOR GIRLS (SHE`S SO LOVELY)...New entries in the top 40, from ELLIOT MINOR, HOT CHIP (at 29), MICHAEL JACKSON/WILL I AM was in last week, and makes a steady climb, today. Further down (but not in the 40), were other entries for LAURA MARLING, RICHARD HAWLEY, and DUKE AND THE SPIRIT. Let`s compare a vintage chart from same week in 1975, this chart was announced on Radio Luxembourg, on Tues 28th Jan 1975. But of course during the 1984 - 93 period Airplay was included in the weekly chart, on Independant Radio, abeit 5% of airplay. To which, at the time was stated, "by using airplay in the main chart, it means our chart, is nearly 2 weeks ahead, of the rest". It is possible to work out some airplay, by looking at the Network Chart, from those days. Certainly, Wham`s "I`m Your Man" was an airplay number one, well in front of Feargal Sharkey`s "A Good Heart" in November 1985. Which put Wham as a new entry at number one, the week of release (ahead of Radio one`s top 40).

Infamy Infamy they all got it in for me Joined: 5 March 2006 Posts: 129,135 User: 2	I have a gut feeling Kelly Rowland is going to miss out on a #1 this week and has to settle for #3, and poor Adele seems to be this year's Kate Nash stuck at #2, judging by the sales I posted earlier the Basshunter track is selling well, I never expected Basshunter to stay at #1 for more than 2 weeks its exceeded my expectations. I just hope some artist will do a great honour of knocking it off its perch next week, but that looks highly unlikely at this rate.

I go along with your top 3 prediction for Sunday's chart. I think Basshunter will spend 5 weeks at the top and will be replaced by David Jordan. Despite looking unlikely to make number 1, it has been a brilliant start to the year for Adele. She will have the number 1 album this week, she's won an award and the single looks set to be at number 2 for the 3rd week and by the end of the week Chasing Pavements will be the 2nd biggest selling track in 2008.
