How I compile my charts:

With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay.

Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80s/90s singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1.

Hi Jason!

1 - Isn't she just! Might not even be her last week at the top

3 - No, 'Baby' was No. 9, I prefer many of his other songs over that!
4 - He should stick to singing rather than presenting

22 - It will climb, don't worry, should be Top 10 next week!
25 - I'm surprised, I thought she'd be easily contending for a Top 3 position

30 - Both songs are average, I'm not too fussed about either of them if I'm honest.
33 - Their production usually is, I'm just not 100% convinced about Rita's vocals on this.
34 - They've flirted with it before too, especially with the Avicii produced 'Sky Full Of Stars'.

1 - There are exceptions to every rule

I'm listening to this a lot on spotify atm!
2 - I'd be happy with a snap scenario!
8 - I wouldn't call it dull but it wasn't anything special.
12 - Me too actually.
13 - I'm still really enjoying this, and I don't even find his voice grating on it!
18 - I don't think it will flop but it definitely won't be anywhere near as big as MG. I doubt he'll have too much more success though tbh, he definitely won't be the next Bruno Mars or anything.
22 - I kinda agree with you, the vocals aren't bad but they aren't quite as amazing as I was expecting.
30 - She's really not, and I'm glad you agree

40 - And why not? It's still a great song

Hey Mango!

I see 'Hello' remains just ahead of 'Sorry' in your affections, unlike those of the British public this week but much like my own . Hearing it in the context of the album gave me a new appreciation for how much of a huge statement the song is - have you listened to the full album yourself yet? Any highlights?

'Perfect' must be growing on you a bit since your comment on my chart then?! It's one of their more interesting and well-executed efforts for me, but I also think Harry's voice really carries it. Would be interested in his inevitable solo stuff a lot more than that of the others for sure.

So great to see 'Wake Up Call' still doing well with you! I was really impressed with their album and that song's always been a fave. Jordan was telling me 'Trip Switch' is getting some radio exposure in the US, which is pleasing - good to see the band's music finding new ears after the muted reception here.

I find 'Same Old Love' atrocious (sorry :/)! Sounds like a dated demo and the vocals are strained/as basic as they come. I'm actually surprised it's got so many fans and has done as well as it has chart-wise!

I'm been enjoying 'Sax' more over the last few days . Very infectious and shows a huge amount of promise as a debut single.

Loads more I like here as per, but I won't go on for ages!

Jordan was telling me 'Trip Switch' is getting some radio exposure in the US, which is pleasing - good to see the band's music finding new ears after the muted reception here.

I find 'Same Old Love' atrocious (sorry :/)! Sounds like a dated demo and the vocals are strained/as basic as they come. I'm actually surprised it's got so many fans and has done as well as it has chart-wise!

I'm been enjoying 'Sax' more over the last few days

'Hello': yes it just edges ahead for now but that could all change in next week's chart (which I'll actually publish later today!) I haven't heard the album in full yet but I will do this week. I've heard 'When You Were Young' and 'Million Miles Away', both of which are great, particularly the latter which actually sounded stunning when she performed it on the BBC thing!

'Perfect': yeah it's definitely grown a bit but I still think it's one of the weakest songs on the album, which I'm very much enjoying at the moment. I know I'm in the minority but I'd actually be more interested in Liam's solo stuff.

'Wake Up Call': it's a great song for sure, and yeah it is a shame how they're not bigger in the UK. Good to hear that 'Trip Switch' is at least doing something in the US though.

'Same Old Love': I can sort of see why you don't like it, and agree about the vocals, I think it's that bassline that I really like. That said, I doubt it will going Top 10 for me.

'Sax': it's been growing on me a lot too, definitely a great debut single.
