Not that impressed with the three tracks available so far. I think she will probably flop unless there is something more commercial sounding on the album which attracts radio promotion!

Three is really good, it reminds me of her early material! It has her classic sound

Think she played the entire album tonight, maybe less a song or two but I think it was the whole thing. It sounds bloody brilliant. Far better than Sheezus. There’s some real Alright, Still & It’s Not Me, It’s You charm to it.

I really really can’t wait for it to be released!! And there are better things on the album that Three and Higher. Track 8, 9 and 10 she actually performed together on stage but in the order 10, 8, 9. All three are quite sad songs. She sings them beautifully and I in particular adore Apples.

Oh that's good to hear! I haven't really been a fan of what I've heard so far so hopefully she has some good stuff on the album.

I still can’t get enough of ‘Higher’, can’t wait for this album.
I think I’ll be all over it like I was with ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’.

No Shame sounds like it will be right up there with “It’s Not Me, It’s You”. I just hope it translates to studio because there were some great sounding songs. June is so long away sad.gif

That having been said it was like 4 years post-Scala until MKSmas and the leak of most of the tracks from that night and still only a few weeks until the last one was leaked, so i can wait 3 months laugh.gif

Did you attend her new show? What did you make of it?

'Higher' has *really* hit me this past few weeks. It's a really slower one, not what I was expecting from Lily at all, but the chill nature of it really hits the spot if you hear it in the right context.

I went to the Manchester Gorilla date, it was her first gig in 4 years she said. It’s the first time I’ve seen her as a headline act, and not at a festival, and she was superb!! She has a really wonderful stage presence and I really really enjoyed the new tracks! They feel more typically Lily Allen than Sheezus did. She’s still a stunning lyricist.

For me it sort of felt like the follow on that Sheezus should have been. I do enjoy a few of the songs that came out that era but I think I’m going to enjoy No Shame a lot more when it’s finally released next month.

It is growing on me now too, to be fair. Not anywhere near the levels of "Trigger Bang" but I'll enjoy it enough when I hear it on the album.

Her episode on George Ezra's podcast is brilliant, highly highly recommend it. She just talks so freely about anything she wants and it's really interesting: from how her first album came about and suddenly turned her into a worldwide star, to her breakdown following Sheezus and the stalker who planned on killing her. They also talk about using fame as a platform to talk about issues and whether or not you should say something if you're informed or not.

There was also a discussion about her kids growing up knowing that their mum is a singer and how over time they're slowly learning about her career (also how Lily is affected by spending a lot of time away from her kids and then overcompensating by showering them with love when she's home and how that impacts their upbringing).

It's worrying this is coming June 8th and there's no big single to kick it off

No big single, but she has started a bit of a twitter campaign with #NoShame after someone tweeted her a picture of her vagina ... yep

The daily mail being the daily mail then blew it way out of proportion so now people are angry with them for yet another reason

There has been literally zero effort and/or budget from her team to promote this.

- Mediocre 'comeback' single released half a year ago and didn't even chart.
- Lacklustre 'promo' singles three months before the album's release.
- Abominable artwork.
- No lead single, no proper music video, no hype.

I feel so disappointed and actually worried that I'm not going to like the album...

The lead single wasn’t her fault as it leaked.

She did have B-list R1 support, so hopefully they support the second single

She knows the album isn’t going to do amazingly well, I think she’s just glad to make the sort of music she likes and not having to try and follow current trends etc just to get a hit.

Love the artwork and all we’ve heard from the album so far, can’t wait to hear the rest of it. ‘Higher’ is one of my favourites of the year.

Lily liked a tweet from a fan account who said that they'd done more promo for this album than her label have laugh.gif

Really liking this, but I need an uptempo song, is the entire album mid-tempo/ballads?
