Chart Commentary
 She debuted at #29 last week after one day of availability, and this week, P!nk claims the highest climber, jumping 28 places to #1 with new single What About Us. It's her second #1, and first in four years, since she topped the chart with Lily Allen collaboration True Love. All of P!nk's singles since my chart began at the tail end of 2011 have made my top 10, with the exception of Just Give Me a Reason - it was a huge global hit but never really did it for me! Most recently, she charted with soundtrack single Just Like Fire, which made #7. Avicii's got a patchy track record in my chart, with four previous top 10s, but between the end of his first era and now, only one song charted - Coca-Cola theme song Taste the Feeling, with Conrad Sewell. This means that none of his second era charted for me despite a fairly successful first album! Lonely Together is from his new EP, Avīci (01), and although it is unclear if it is a single at this point, it's my clear favourite from the EP and now becomes his highest peaking song so far. It's also Rita Ora's highest charting song since Doing It with Charli XCX in 2015, and her ninth top 10 in total. I type my chart up after the official chart show on Radio 1 on a Friday, meaning Friends had a little over 24 hours to impact. While fast debuts used to be a common occurrence in my chart, that is less the case nowadays. Only songs by Harry Styles, Anne-Marie, Katy Perry, Shawn Mendes and Louis Tomlinson have debuted in my top 10 in a similar timescale this year. Friends becomes Justin's 25th top 10 hit, a record he extends, and is in prime position to become his eighth #1 hit next week. Ella's first era was hit and miss in my chart, but it yielded top 10s in the form of Deeper (#2) and Comeback (#8), while the album itself made #3. Ego makes #13 so far, becoming her tenth chart hit, and her third highest peaking so far. It features Ty Dolla $ign, who scores his fifth hit, and first to date to miss the top 10. All five of those hits, however, have been as a featured artist! The rest of the chart is summed up by one person - Kesha. After scoring her first #1 single with Praying a few weeks ago, she scores her first #1 album this week as Rainbow climbs 2-1 with ease. The singles chart sees an impact too, with album tracks Learn To Let Go, Boots and Let 'Em Talk all debuting, while Praying remains strong at #4. 'Lonely Together' charting higher for you than for me.  Although it would be #1 for me if not for... other Avicii songs. I absolutely love it.  'What About Us' is quite a good comeback for P!nk, not surprised it seems to be doing very well in the chart (well actually selling only 26k first week is really bad and floppy and she is over). Getting a bit tired of Bieber constantly being everywhere at the moment, 'Friends' is decent but it does feel like it's just selling on his name and it won't be a mega-hit like a few of his other recent songs. cool chart ~ |

Hi Joseph
Nice new entry for Bieber here. I'm not as huge on it as I was Sorry or even his features this year but it's another great single to add to his collection. A bit shocked at his underperformance so far but hopefully it can grow into a hit in the future. I do wish Ego packed a bit more of a punch but it's still a nice single from her. It's just a shame because this isn't going to be the single that helps her smash so we'll just have to keep waiting (if it ever even happens  )Loving Reggaeton Lento too at the moment. I had never even heard of the track beforehand but the girls sound so good on it and it sounds like the perfect counterpart to Despacito. Hope it smashes hard for them (in the US too, perhaps? *-*) Lovely chart!! |

And there's so much love for it on Buzzjack too 2. Avicii feat. Rita Ora - Lonely Together - 2- ** HIGHEST NEW ENTRY ** I'd rank this third on the EP behind 'Without You' and the AlunaGeorge one. Still a good song but I can see why 'Without You' is being pushed over this! 3. Louis Tomlinson feat. Bebe Rexha & Digital Farm Animals - Back to You - 8-1-1-1-3- 4. Kesha - Praying - 1-3-3-5-4-4- 5. Justin Bieber & BloodPop® - Friends - 5- I'm not finding this very instant tbh. It's not a bad song per se but I think I was expecting more. Let's see how much of a grower it is! 7. Dua Lipa - New Rules - 4-5-7-7-7-7- 8. Declan McKenna - Humongous - 18-3-8- 10. Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry - 2-4-6-10-8-10- 12. Charli XCX - Boys - 29-9-9-12- 13. Ella Eyre feat. Ty Dolla $ign - Ego - 13- Not as instant as some of the singles from her last era, was expecting something a bit more powerful but wait and let's see how this does I guess. Doesn't scream hit to me though! 16. Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug - Havana - 13-16- 18. Enrique Iglesias feat. Sean Paul & Matt Terry - SÚBEME LA RADIO - 5-11-14-18- 20. Harry Styles - Two Ghosts - 5-6-9-12-16-20- 21. Declan McKenna - Brazil - 20-21- 22. CNCO & Little Mix - Reggaetón Lento - 22- Still find this a bit of a bizarre move from the girls but it's clearly paying off! 24. Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj - Swish Swish - 2-3-5-7-10-14-16-25-32-33-32-32-24- 25. Kesha - Learn To Let Go - 25- One of the standouts of the album definitely! 26. Little Mix feat. Nice big jump for P!nk this week.  Really surprised a your choice of Avicii track at #2, I much prefer Without You personally. I also entered Ella Eyre in my chart this week too.
